An absolutely beautiful film in every way. And the de-aging technology here is a million times better than anything new films have done the past 10 years. Truly unique and wonderful filmmaking here.
@blinkachu5275
@blinkachu5275 2 года назад
I wouldn't say a million times better. Kurt Russel in Guardians 2, Samuel L Jackson in Captain Marvel, Michael Douglas in Ant-Man, David Harbour in Black Widow, even Alfred Molina in Spider-Man: No Way Home. That type de-aging is considered to be the best in the industry. This movie is unique for sure, but you can also call out something's uniqueness without shitting on something else ;)
@reservoirdude92
@reservoirdude92 2 года назад
@BlinkAChu okok I can't argue with that. I guess it's just my personal opinion. There's just something.. off to me about the de-aging work in films these days.

This movie was probably one of the most memorable movies I've ever watched. I first watched it when I was 13 or 14 more than 10 years ago and I still remember it. It's a movie that'll definitely stay in your head for the rest of your life, at least for me.

Im so glad you brought up this movie, it really deserves more recognition. It gets compared to Forrest Gump a lot, and I see it, but this is more about the limited time we have, how temporary everything is, and how our paths will cross but we all have our own journey

The great playwright, George Bernard Shaw, once wrote, "It's such a pity that youth is wasted on the young." The quote seems appropriate with the theme of this movie. Wisdom with aging. Naivety with the young. Wisdom from experiences. In a way, maybe the bright side of experiencing tragedy and hardship early in life and learning from it, we become a "Benjamin Button". You figure out early in life what's important and what's not. Wisdom gained and still with youth on your side. You have the eyes of what some people call, but not in the negative sense that most people see it (pun), of an "old man" but in a young body. At 11, I experienced death of a parent and sickness of the other. I raised my younger siblings. Saw what was important in life. The "trials" of adolescence and high school, the Rat Race of competition of college, career/financial climbing, etc. Was never really stressed about any of it. Saw it more as a circus. Fun but not the end all. Wisdom of the mind but coupled with the Wonderment of a youthful heart and Mind's Eye.

Great reaction and i THOROUGHLY enjoyed your "rambling"! This is a top 20 movie for me. I just had a relationship end with someone that was 15 years younger than myself and the initial pain of the break-up stung...but you are 100% correct, she needed to be selfish and take advantage of the amazing career opportunities that she worked hard for and i needed to accept that it wasn't anything that i did...it just wasn't meant to be. Your message came at a perfect time and resonated deeply with me! I've been binging your GoT reactions over the last week and i think you're doing a great job and you are highly entertaining and good at this! Keep it up yo!!

Most if not all of David Fincher's theatrical films are fantastic. So far you've done Alien 3, Seven, Fight Club, Zodiac, and now The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Hopefully in time you can check out the rest of his theatrical releases, The Game (1997), Panic Room (2002), The Social Network (2010), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), and Gone Girl (2014).

Saw this film with my father in the movie theatres down in Florida years ago and we both were pretty well entertained. Feeling a little nostalgic at the moment about that fact because it was always a great Father/Son bonding experience despite any and all differences we may have had in the past. But the Scott's and the Ferrante's are back in action and I'm thrilled that we have come together through a "meeting of our minds. Looking forward to the day where we can all get our crazy family together and enjoy the presence and support we can give to one another. I still have a lot to learn and am open to new ideas and working towards furthering that goal. Love you buddy...😊😊😊

I just finished this movie Its just beautiful and touching, it gave us the glance of what life is really about. Love your thoughts about the movie at the end! Also 44:56 I don't think it was a reference to Daisy just being selfish, but it was meant to show that Daisy was never like that and she just felt something towards Benjamin and thats why she left cuz Benjamin didin't feel the same at first.

Time is how the world works it IS the system, but, don't worry about time. What you need to worry about is your life and who you are and, are you here to make changes? Being a teacher, doctor, dentist etc is meaningless it's who you are as a spiritual creature eg are you a good person or not? That's what this experience is about do you care about being either of the two? We are told that if you are good time will never be an issue ever again and will pass effortlessly for you because you will be happy But, if you are evil time will move slowly! remember time is how this system works but it's Not About TIME!

Saw this movie in a theater right after it was released. The good: I’ll give credit for an original storyline. The bad: I thought it received too much hype (see: overrated) and it was WAY TOO LONG. (That’s not just my opinion. Here’s an excerpt from a movie critic’s review: “It just goes on and on and on and on and on and on. And on.”). This movie clocks in at almost three hours! Two and a half hours in, I began to look at my watch…every five minutes…praying for the marathon to end. When the credits started rolling I was so stiff I could barely stand. Needless to say, I have no desire to watch it again. Even if I’m at home lying on my couch.

There's something slightly off about this movie regarding the math. I think Benjamin aged backwards too quickly. By the time Daisy was 12 Benjamin was still in a 80+ year old body. It should've been the same the other way around. Benjamin should've visited Daisy in the hospital at the end of the move as an adolescent still remembering who she was. Daisy should've died first this would makes sense since she witnessed him in a state of vulnerability during their childhood years so it's fair he witnesses the same. Then Caroline the daughter should've been the one looking after Benjamin to make up for the bond she never had with her father. I think this would've added more balance and the ending would've been conceptually ironic.
