Jen I just have to tell you- your videos have become my favorites! I love that you talk about affordable products almost all of the time and your makeup skills and presence on camera have just blossomed so much since I've been watching you (about 3 years now). I don't know how you don't have a million subs already. I trust your opinions way more than those bigger gurus!
In my fifties too and I think the lip smackers had been around for a while even before I started trolling the drug store for “gateway” makeup. The smell is definitely nostalgic - takes me back to the time between splurging with my allowance and splurging with my baby-sitting money. 😊
I'm 60 in May, and I swear we had the flavored lip glosses with the ball at the top in addition to the lip balms. I also recall lip balm in a small rectangular tin with a lid that slid back to reveal a balm, strawberry of course. They fit perfectly in my jeans pocket, so the balm was always the right temp for easy application, and I'd bet that I then wiped my balm laden finger on those jeans!
@@elizabethhannah6836 54, 55 in a few months and I totally remember the tins with the sliding tops starting around 4th grade. Loved those. I think tin packaging making a comeback with sustainable brands like Lush (which my now 22 year old daughter introduced me to). What goes around comes around as they say 😀
I'm 64, and I think Lip Smackers started before I was old enough to buy them. They were a super big deal for us, especially the Dr. Pepper. I just bought a special edition Coke bottle, which is so adorable.
I have extremely pale skin and this is an amazing collection for me! Cupid’s bow is actually light enough for me to have the baby pink cheeks everyone is loving right now. I’m SO excited to get it!
Those pink shades look great on you!! I think you should use them more often because they go perfectly with your skin undertone and besides do a great match with your eyes! I'm more warm and that's why I fear to try blushes like these, too cool toned, but what I'm really tempted to get is one or two of the highlighters! Your swatches are always an excellent reference to pick a shade!
You do so many dupe videos for us, but I swear, you should do a video for everything that mimics that Dior blush. I’m guessing that’s probably one of your most requested items for a dupe.
Thank you for the thorough dive into this collection! We have a ear idea of the "look" it's supposed to give because you tried it all on! CP doesn't even have such a presentation on their website that gives us the overall "look." I bought 1 blush, 1 hl, the es, 2 glosses and the lip care kit a d used your cc!
Too bad about the lavender blush, but everything else looked wonderful. That glitter shadow... wowza. Love seeing you incorporate more and more color into your looks. It's so fun!
I did really well when I ordered today. I only got one blush (the bright pink one) and the lightest highlight but not for my cheek but for my inner corners. I like having a dedicated bright white for inner corners! Thanks Jen! 💗
The pink eyeshadow looks great on you. Especially the glitter. I didn’t realized they reformulated the glitter. That’s good to know. I always avoided it before.
I am excited about the pallete. I have been looking for something pink and red. Purples emphasize my dark circles but pinks and red just bring out the green.
Yes!! I ordered them from the Essence website almost two weeks ago and paid for overnight shipping and they still aren't here. I'm SO upset about it because I wanted to get the review out ASAP. I just saw that they shipped but still haven't been picked up by the mail carrier yet. Ugh...hopefully I'll get them by this weekend.
I am so happy that you said you use the glitter glue as a primer for simmer shades because I use it more as an eye shadow primee than I do as a glitter glue because I like to do quick easy shimmery eye shadow looks!!
Thank you for the review. You just saved me money because I just new I would love all the blushes. While they are nice, I I was disappointed in how light they were. Im pale as a ghost, but when you mentioned it was 6 layers to get the swatch, wow. Shopping my stash now.
All of the Colourpop products in this video want to come to my house, but sadly I'm being very selective this year. I don't wear much pink either, however I have all 3 sizes of Tarte's Juicy palettes, lol. Jen, I know you love shiny lid colors, but the first 2 shades you used were perfect as is, I hope you'll try it again with a dark liner and your fav mascara! Thanks for your hard work, and don't forget to rest over the weekend 💖
The highlighters and blushes are so pretty. I haven't tried anything in the collection but the eyeshadow palette I need to create looks with and see if I can but it's not me.
I really love that palette I’m so glad you tried those eye shadows because those are exactly the colors I wanted to see you and I have very similar tastes in make up also I really like the blushes I love when blushes aren’t strong but buildable great video Jen thanks!
You could use some of those more vibrant shades with a gentle hand for blushes. I definitely remember all the Bonne Belle lipsmackers, and of course would lick them right off since I was a little kid. Thanks for reviewing so much makeup, Jen!
If these were the old days, say around 2015, I'd buy the entire collection just because it's so cute! I also don't wear a lot of pink shadow, if I do, they have to be more dusky like in the Huda Rose Quartz palette, which is a favorite of mine. I was interested in the purple blush, but seeing that it has no color payoff, I have to pass. I think the purple highlighter would be too dark for me. I guess the only thing I really want is that dupe for Dior blush. I am curious to see what the red blush looks like on your cheeks; I don't have anything like a red in my collection. Thanks for another great video, and just for the record, I think the pink eye look is really lovely on you!
So stellar!! You did fantastic w/ the eyeshadows. So swooning! I accidentally got the wrong telescopic mascara but I've been using it under milani's lash extensions & it"s a great combo. I appreciate you for keeping us company ! p.s. I make sure to watch all the ads to support your channel
always excited when you post a new video! so calming, and i know i can trust your opinion. just want to reiterate what a lot of other comments are saying: i really appreciate your sincerity and approachability :)
As long as Elf keeps making their lip scrub sticks I'll get those. They're like the perfect mixture of scrubby and solid to get a good exfoliating without falling apart. Plus they're like $4.
Hi Jen, I love the eyeshadow palette, it’s so pretty, and the blushes are so cute, I need one of those…. The pink looks so good on you. I really like the colors of the lipgloss. The packaging is just really cute.❤️
I love this collection! The second blush is a perfect match to your sweater. I'm going to get the shadow palette, the pinks are so flattering, and I would use the reds as a blush I think. Great job again Jen.
ahh I'm so excited to see you testing this collection! I'm so intrigued by these products and wondered how the colors would look like on a skin tone like mine 🙏🏻 ❤️
I just found your channel looking for a review on this palette . Is so beautiful! I'm so glad I bought it lol. I can't believe you're in you're 40s . I loved your eyelook I'm subscribing I'm also in my 40s
I bought pretty much everything from this collection (except for the frosty white highlighter, lavender highlighter, and lavender blush since they don’t suit my skintone)! ❤ I went back for the cutie stamps and made a separate purchase! 😂 I can’t wait to receive my orders! I just hope all of the lip shades look good on me! I’m now a bit worried about that pink shade!
The color pop eyeshadows are nice! Personally I’m not a fan of pink/red eyeshadow! But I would use those pink/red colors for blush! Also the pearly white/pink shadows work well as highlighter! 😊
I got an email yesterday from CP yesterday and thought I’d look awful in those … but they’re made for you! Love the colors and hearts 💕 nostalgia is perfect !!your son could stamp his teacher?!? 😂
You look great in pink tones, love the eyes and the lipsticks really suit you. I’m very tempted to buy the pallet and lipsticks. I’d love to wear the heart stamps hahaha but as a woman in my 60s, don’t think I can pull it off.
Hallo Jen, This was really fun to watch. I am very interested in trying some of the heart blushes just too cute. I also want to try a purple highlighter been eyeing a few highend ones but I am not wanting to spend a lot of money to find out nope don't like on me. Great review and such a cute palette. The palette actually reminds me of the mini ND cupid palette I have ( more than likely only because it is pinks LOL) Thank you great review and the pink looked real pretty on you.
