I catch this style lock all over the place. Definitely a favorite of mine! Glad you use it, too!!

No. You'll just have to live with that.

You have a free hand to defend. Also the angle makes it difficult to lock it in since they only have one free hand. Hit it quickly and front roll with your neck hidden. I have never been choked doing it.

The "baby bird" attack from inside back control also follows the same theme. All of those elbow trap arm locks feel the same to me, just different set ups. Thanks for the comment!
