I am sure they can go to other sources, and it may have been encouraged among Jedi approved groups like the Baran Do Sages, but their teachings would never be as complete and concise as of the Jedi. For example, the Baran Do Sages would teach the basics of the force and things they specialize in like sensing and controlling the weather and Dathomir witches would give you a more ritualistic and esoteric teaching and understanding of the force rather than the more pragmatic teaching of the Jedi. It's more like the council didn't bother stopping Obi-Wan in the first place. Instead of going through standard initiate education, Anakin skipped the entire process by training under Obi-Wan right from day one. The council probably made an exception & let the whole thing slide as a way to honor Qui-Gon's sacrifice, as well an acknowledgement that something might actually come out of such exceptions, given that Obi-Wan himself never got to be a padawan & was relegated to the service corps at one point, until Qui-Gon met him.

guess the real takeaway lesson is, there is actually no one "right" way to produce a Jedi that both excels and remains true to the light, the order's way, master yoda's way, worked perfectly fine for obi wan, with the only hiccup being Duchess satine, but Qui Gon, who was basically as unorthodox as possible, was also undeniably and undenied, a great jedi. Heck just about every master worth remembering had their own spin on the code. and had the war itself not happened, anakin would have probably had the chance to find his own spin, the responsibility for ahsoka was well on the road of bringing out the best in him in fact.

Honestly what kept Anakin from being a great Jedi was his fear, pride and greed for attachments. @austinthe710messiah2 Год назад
I think only having one padawan was the mistake. The jedi numbers were few and they manage to keep it low because a jedi either wasn't allowed to have 2 or more padawans, or their system made the rule so they wouldn't lose their cool where just one padawan went against their wishes, imagine each jedi having 5 padawans each doing this, so they made the rule to compensate for the masters. There could've been 1,00,00 more jedi by the time they no longer padawans but because they'd rather not want to deal with more than 1, they limited themselves in their numbers when they could've had more members to help the galaxy the way many people perceived them, not having an attachment would've been easier if you had serval padawans to not play favorites with, then you'd have a better chance that your order would be able to grow in numbers. You could by the time the numbers grew, have at least 100 jedi or more on every planet that existed within the Galactic Republic. Since you already taught them to work together, the padawans would've worked together more often instead of trying to one up each other. and maybe this reason I'm saying alone is why the story works for why Anakin would fall to the dark side because he had no one to rely on like a brother or a sister which despite the orders thinking about attachments, they were all in the same order which should've been looking out for one another and not scorn when someone thinks differently than themselves. Maybe this is why when the Jedi Civil war happened after the Mandalorian war, the order only trained one padawan each thinking this would negate rash actions where Revan ran to the Republics aid in the outer rim with the other jedi who would follow him, including Malak and Meetra Surik. Or even the first Schism was when they decided because of the Sith being a threat that kept them from training more than one padawan per jedi, where the Sith would embrace having several apprentices, who would compete with one another and even kill each other as rivals. So, by the time the Rise of Skywalker would emulate the idea that Luke saw the flaw with the jedi and decided they should no longer exist, the rule of two the Sith Lord Darth Bane created would be the idea of the jedi no longer existing by destroying the order through the actions from order 66, which wasn't his idea, but he would've approved for the sake of their 1,000-year plan. But the future is that most likely, new force user orders will come into existence reaching the point that the jedi order was at, recreating the flow of events to repeat all over again, or the Rakatan Infinite empire will reawaken taking the galaxy once again like they did 5,000 years before the republic would begin and fight it out with the Yuuzhan Vong. Or I just want the story to mean something instead of hating the franchise because the wrong people won't hire you because you have ideas, they won't pay you for. So, you write a really long comment about why the jedi should've had more than one padawan each because George told the story he wanted about the Skywalkers or what he figured. And if anyone actually reads this, I hope you value Star Wars as much as I do to see the pattern being told to us, and that Disney should hire someone with this mindset.

lmao Yoda be looking at the Temple grocery bill like: "Send more younglings offworld, we must." Now you know why padawans are spirited away with their masters so young, and why they're shown eating from the land in some depictions. Furthermore, since the Jedi don't work or produce any products or own any assets, does the Republic foot the bill for Jedi expenses? Perhaps the cost of feeding and housing 10k Jedi is minuscule for an intergalactic government. Even if they did, isn't the accumulation of wealth, even if for subsistence, a violation of the no attachments rule as wealth is a facet of a material possession? I suppose they would have to donate every cent not used to charity. The real question is; how Jedi reconciled hunting animals with their pacifism?

It’s the selfishness of the person being trained that usually causes the problem because if they’re training left a lot to be desired, then there would be constant falls to the Darkside, which is not the case at all, and as for your complaint about spiritual dimensions oh yes, how dare a spiritual order of people not care about the spirituality of the very thing they worship. You keep using these words I don’t think they mean with the you think they mean.

@@Toramai-pi8wx Because Jedi bad is considered a nuanced, mature take on a universe with established binary morality. This comment claims the Order’s education fails to produce functioning people not prone to emotional/mental turmoil… when it has done so with considerable success and replicated that success for most of its insanely long history. That success is shown to come as a result of compliance with those teachings (or at least adhering to their reasoning). The Jedi Order in this regard is nothing short of a success story, the main issue with turnover is caused by noncompliance, the *one* area in which they can legitimately be considered to have failed in.

One way for the Jedi to improve their system could have been if the failed Initiates were given more support. Just because their force potential wasn't high enough or weren't skilled enough (or were just unlucky to not be chosen) they still could have learned more about the force, especially in the Agri Corps. I mean even if they would not have been up to the level of a Padawan, with some guidance from some masters they could have progressed at their own rate, then they too could have been sent on missions. Maybe not like the padawans, more like being sent to help with terraforming projects, helping to restore/fix the ecosystem of wartorn worlds and stuff like that. If they were branching out to learn other skills related to the Living Force, could also help planets with dangerous fauna if not to tame, then at least helping to mitigate the problems or send them out as healers to help combat diseases and increasing the survivability of people on harsher worlds. Just because their skills would not have been up to the level of a Consular-class Jedi, more healers are always come handy. Especially if they are sent in groups rather than in pairs, with a master (or a more experienced member of the service corps) in charge of them, they could still have been really helpful using teamwork and specialization, thus allowing the Padawans/Knights/Masters to redirect their focus to other matters, that required their skill and experience. This also would have allowed the Order to help more people and planets, deepening the Jedi's bonds with the people of the Galaxy, who otherwise the Order couldn't reach, because the full-fledged Jedi were needed elsewhere. I think such reforms would have helped the Jedi Order and without having to change too much (since Jedi aren't ones for change).

The major issue I see with the Jedi training is that they had a fundamental disconnect with the people of the Galaxy by never needing to provide for themselves or others. Think about it, how can they empathize properly when their food, shelter, clothing, transportation, money etc... was handed to them. They had no concept of the economic and social corruption that plagued the galaxy because it never affected them. It was always "not their problem" so the Republic got away with crap, and they enabled it.

@@user-nm1lx8qb3u Well, first of all, no isolating in the Temple. I'm not saying field trips to the ganglands, but they need to teach the younglings that Credits aren't just handed out. Some people get more than others. They need to see the consequences of having too much and too little early on. Around age ten they need to understand what working for needs means. Maybe have them "work" to earn the robes they ruin or get extra dessert. Something that hammers home the concept that the whole galaxy operates like that in real life not just classroom economic theory. During their days of Padawan-hood. Anything they need, transportation, clothing, food, they and their masters have to find a way to earn them when not on a mission. They're so-called simple, humble lives, were in fact as pampered as could be.

I wonder what ever happened to all those Younglings from Season 5 of The Clone Wars. We know Gungi survived since he's in the Bad Batch Season 2 trailer, but we don't know about the rest. I always headcanon that they did escape, alongside the Droids from D-Squad, of course, in that headcanon I also thought some Clones like Jesse, Echo, the rest of the Bad Batch, and a few others helped them escape because I thought Rex would have told them about what Fives had discovered and they would have all removed their chips beforehand so when Order 66 did happen they would see what was going on, realize Fives was right and it was good they removed their chips beforehand, and then jump into action to help the Jedi. Bad Batch Season 1 and the Siege of Mandalore kind of disproved most of that, especially in the case of Jesse and Crosshair. Although, Jesse did still die in my headcanon because I thought some Clones should die during the saving of the Younglings, and I didn't want to kill Echo since he's all that's left of Domino Squad. Still, two very great shows mind you.

Hm maybe by if they failed their test to become padawns instead of resigning them or allowing them to leave the jedi to allow them to continue their training much more and to hone their skills and knowledge of a lightsaber and the force so when they are better prepared and more ready for the test to become a padawan that they could succeed

It could have been improved by letting them (Under EXTREME supervision and vigil mind you) study the dark side of the force. That's why so many turned to it because they didn't know or understand the feelings and nature of the dark side and therefore did not know how to process it.

@@Prilliyo very true and fair though as a culture that worships war and conflict, you would be expected to take danger by the horns rather than avoid it. This is why mercenary, bounty hunting and security work are popular choices and alternatives to war among the Mandalorians. A more down to earth example would be being ready at any moment to throw hands or even kill if someone disrespects you or your family/clan.

Nice video I think that if I were to suggested improvement, it would be a little bit more life skills so that way if they do choose or there quietly encouraged to leave the order they’re not completely lost. Although that might be legends thinking, because they kind of made it sound like that anybody who let the order was completely clueless on how the galaxy worked. Probably due to authors, not paying attention to the Jedi Path book or George Lucas’s suggestions.
