Damian Lillard has been traded to the Milwaukee Bucks from the Portland Trailblazers in a 3 team trade also involving the Phoenix Suns, and I LOVE the trade. #lillard #damianlillard #damianlillardtrade
John Horst will be the most sought after GM in the league when his Milwaukee tenure is over. What he has pulled off in the last 6 years with acquiring players to pair a superstar with in a small market will never be talked about enough.
@@Oohesgotadirtymouth Joe how you going to give away Dame for peanuts? Miami ain't offer you ish, but neither did Milwaukee. Old ass "I'm thinking of retiring" Jru, and some picks for Dame? Hot damn Joe what you doing? 😂
Yeah, but their future in five years. Who knows plus if this does not work out. Ouch. Also, I still don’t see them beating the Celtics. Celtics have a great starting five and a phenomenal bench now with the additions they made. Milwaukee just has two superstars and not a good bench. Grayson Allen was a key member coming off that bench. They pretty much just replaced holiday with a man who averages 10 points more than him. Milwaukee should have added a couple veterans rather than doing this, but maybe I’m wrong I don’t know.
@@franjes9999 you got rid of a disgruntled player for a slighty worse player but stills give you good production and is probably the best replacement for ayton besides maybe capela
As great as Jrue's defense has been for the Bucks. The dhde was a eraging 17 pts on 41/30 splits in the playoffs. Meanwhile Lillard has dropped 55 pts in a playoff game before. Bucks will have two guys that can average 30 pts a game. That is just absolutely insane.
@@johnmarkson1998 Sort of not, you need one dpoy at least to win the title. Draymond KT, Jrue Lopez and Giannis, AD Dwight McGee... Denver is the only team that has an ok defense in late 10 years, and they won because they improved defensively.
@@pedrobisono747 thats not how basketball works. giannis taking every shot while drew is on defense sounds like a fantasy. if that happened they would win every title lmfao.
As a Milwaukee native, Jrue means so much to this city because of his immediate investment in the city, not to mention his immediate championship success he brought. We’ll miss the hell out of him, but players like Dame don’t become available every day. The Bucks did what they had to do and made a Win Now play.
I don’t think there is any uncertainty with Giannis. I 100% believe he will extend his contract and stay with the bucks now. He wants to stay in Milwaukee and now he has a great player to win. The bucks franchise legit did everything Giannis wanted
The team is still old, so these contracts may not age well for Giannis. I don’t think he signs a long term deal and if he does I don’t think he will stay with them the entire time
I think this trade guaranteed Giannis will at least play out the remainder of his contract. Which is fine for the Bucks. They have a 2-3 year championship Window with Giannis and Dame. Then they'll take it from there depending on whether Giannis signs an extension or not. It doesn't guarantee a Giannis extension. Dame will be 36 and probably not an All Star making 63 Million by the Time the Current Giannis contract ends. Middleton Will be 34 and Lopez will be 38 (assuming they resign those guys). Bucks will have no picks, still won't be a particularly attractive Free Agent destination and no assets for trades.
@poppatheegoat nah nah obviously not herro. But a jrue to heat trade would most likely be something like Lowry, Jarquez, Jovic, and a pick or 2 for sure.
I think everyone won this deal but well wait and see, the suns essentially freeing up cap space is golden for them, bucks get somebody for their superstar greek freak, and trailblazers can breathe a sigh of relief that this is finally over
Ayton is a good get, he can turn into an All-star if trained properly, Jrue is a great influence on a young team and can lock down anyone. Portland is a playoff contender now they are in really good position and if Scoot becomes mvp level guy they might even be a contender in 2-3 years.
As a Heat fan, I’m really bummed out that the Milwaukee trade went down and I thought we had it in the bag. You may make us the losers of this offseason, Tucker.
Any one who honestly thought he was going Miami, doesn't understand reality. Why would Portland honour his request and trade him where HE wanted to go? Use your common sense🤷♂️
I honestly think Dame and his representation screwed it up more than anything. The Blazers were so annoyed by them trying to force the Miami trade, that they needed the full Heat offer to considering trading him there. Just a guess
Giannis’s want out of Milwaukee is way overblown, it’s pretty clear he mentions certain things each offseason to put pressure on the front office to continue to build for the now around him. They’ve already won 1 chip and don’t have a load of assets so this trade is easily A+, only lacks some depth but that starting 5 has it all. They were always a dominant defensive team missing that scoring punch which is solved now, with better spacing while still remaining great defensively.
Suns did phenomenal here. They got depth and a center who’s not much worse than Ayton but without the baggage. Allen is having a really good career; elite shooter and two young role players who still have some upside.
Man a no 1 pick deserves a chance to show himself lol, Ayton was the 4th/5th best player on his team and barely got ball in his hands. Hopefully he will be able to develop in this new environment now. So happy for dame/giannis , they both got what the wanted and i am looking forward to their chemistry. Respect to blazers for settling for so less for the best layer in their franchise to send him to a contending team I think Middleton should start from bench
To me it seemed like the heat didn’t want to give nothing to Portland because they figured why give up all this assets if no matter what happens Dame wants to come play here. So they kinda just thought whatever happens we will get him eventually. Love that Portland stood they ground and not feel they had to give him up to the heat for basically nothing.
I see a lot more pick and pops being established on the Bucks offense. It is kind of like how Clyde Drexler was brought to Houston to be paired up with Hakeem. The Rockets already had great 3 point shooters such as Kenny Smith, Sam Cassell, Vernon Maxwell, Mario Elie, and Robert Horry. The Bucks already have great 3 point shooters such as Grayson Allen (39.9%) Jrue Holiday (38.4%), Brook Lopez (37.4%), Bobby Portis (37.0%), Jae Crowder (43.6%).
I agreed with everything in this video with the exception of the implied idea that Portland wanted herro. I’m not in the GM meetings but I feel confident with all the information out in saying Portland wanted nothing to do with herro.
Portland Future looking good. Hopefully 2-3 years from now they can compete for the title and hopefully Lillard comes back to Ripcity give it an another shot. Giannis x Lillard going to be Fun to watch.
As a Heat fan, unfortunately, I figured this would happen. However, as a consolation, I think Pat Riley should call Portland for Holiday. An expiring contract of Kyle Lowry, Jovic, a 1st, a pick swap and filler for Holiday. He fits the culture and our defense would be great. Would love this tbh.
@@giovanni-ed7zq I mean, he is good but not exactly what the Heat needs tbh. I would much rather have a Jrue than a Pascal. Shoot, I'd rather have OG than Pascal.
@@krzyAZNmnk3y he actually fits the heat. jimmy doesnt operate in the paint, where siakam does. they both can play make and if jimmy has a night off siakam can take the load. siakam has been durable. only player that has 24 8 and 6 last 2 years that has played 68 or more games. siakam also younger and look at who has the better vorp and winshare. tells ya who impacts winning. also at 33 you could have a situation with jrue falling off a cliff like lowry as he aged owed 34 and 37 million dollars still. as well jrue said he is gonna retire after his contract is up so its not like you can move him later or do a sign and trade.
I have had the pictures set up for weeks haha. I had versions of the thumbnail done for a while too - just not for the Bucks so I had to change that before uploading
I thought Bucks should trade Holiday for Kyrie this summer before Dame was available. Being able to get Dame is an even better fit. They have the players to pick up the defensive slack and he obviously increases the offensive ceiling and can be the go to guy late
Wow this is a ginnias saving move for the bucks. If this works out giannis will stay with the bucks for a long time. The only thing that will change his mine is if he wants to play in front of a big city. Like LA or NY. Dame, Giannis and Middleton. Wow a very nice big 3. Phoenix and Bucks are the 2 teams to beat after this trade. Phoenix got good role players, blazers got 2 very good all stars and bucks got their second star. Nba is going to be fun to watch this season. Can't wait. Let's Go!!
im happy for dame going to a team he can win a chip with but sad as a heat fan not getting dame well it looks like its gonna be a rough season for the heat
Nurk provides great spacing 36% for the 3, elite passing for big, a big body that's better equipped to deal with Joker or Embiid, and great rebounding and heart!!! A for the Suns.
@@thuggwaffle8825Nurk will be better in PHX. Nurk had flashes in Portland. Don’t forget the man just broke his leg 4 years ago & has been working back into shape as a big man. Stop hatin the man. He looks like he’s in the best shape of his career & is the perfect fit in PHX with the guys they have. Nurk can flourish in what he does best: set screens, pass & rebound.
@samuelmalua574 Paul George broke his leg and was back to being elite within 2 seasons. Nurkic is damaged goods, averaging 39 games a season the last 4 years.
The Dame situation was getting ugly fast, but this is absolutely the best case scenario for him, the Bucks, AND Blazers. Could've gone so many different ways, and honestly did not expect this outcome, but I'm very happy with the news
dame consented to go to bucks but not raptors is the report. raptors didnt want to include og anunoby also to maximize winning so they were offering gary trent jr gradey dick, precious achuiwa and filler and 3 unprotected picks and 3 swaps.
Never expected dame to the bucks I even thought him to Brooklyn or NY would be more likely. Seems like Portland did want to send him to a good situation. Every team won this trade as we speak. Blazers get their center of the future with rebuilding assets, Suns get much need youth and depth, and well the bucks get Dame.
I knew this trade was something that needed to happen. Already said that bucks needed a chance after their championship. Biggest reason was that I just want my 2 favorite players to play together😂😂
Bro stop saying there is concerned for Giannis leaving. He said he wants to win, he now has the best chance to win. He would have a harder time winning on any other team. Plus he gets to stay in the city he loves. This is the best case scenario for Giannis. This deal is A+
Milwaukee's perimeter defense was already atrocious in every post-season. Basically all the opponent needed to do was run screens until you switch off Jrue and then you're basically open. Now there is not a single perimeter player in the roster that defends better than a chair.
The Jrue market will be interesting. Miami, Philly, and Toronto should be in on Jrue. Dark horse would be the Knicks, Nets, Warriors, Mavs, Nuggets, clippers and Twolves.
Its not over yet, holliday is moving from Blazers. Blazers fans have got to be exited. Ayton is as good a player as they could have hoped for in exchange for lillard and he could fit very well with their roster
All trades involve risk. Milwaukee a) very publicly gave Giannis a team to win with, b) made themselves a favorite to be in the finals and c) left Miami by the side of the road.
as Suns fan B+ seems about right to me as well. DA was gone whatsoever, and Nurkic is a downgrade but who else was available? Allen and Little arent going to be 6th man of the Year but should give good minutes (at least more stable) and seem to be on tradeable contracts.
michael grange reported the raptors didnt want to include og anunoby, but offered gary trent jr, gradey dick and precious achuiwa with filler and 3 unprotected picks and 3 swaps. it came down to other reports saying dame consented to go to bucks but not raptors why blazers did the trade with bucks.
As a Celtic fan that will see them in the playoffs most likely.... i fucking hate this. As a fan of Dame the person and Gannis the person, i love this. For basketball..... i like this. Mixed feelings over here.
@@FilipCordasAyton look virtually non existent on the floor vs Nuggets. An injured Nurk can’t get any worse than Ayton literally watching KD have rebound battles with Jokic 😂
@santacruzman maybe? I know he has said on twitter giannis was a dude he really wanted to play w. But from everything else been reported he really wanted miami. Either way he's in milwaukee and what looks to be a very good situation for himself
I hope this works. Giannis has always been the guy. Now there is another guy, hope these guys both are selfless. Being a selfless player is the only way this works
well dame didnt consent to go to raptors but consented to go to bucks is why blazers did trade with bucks. raptors didnt want to include og anunoby also. michael grange raptors beat reporter said the raptors were offering gary trent jr, gradey dick, precious achuiwa and filler with 3 unprotected picks and 3 swaps. but dame didnt consent to go to raptors.
Bucks got better only if Lillard will be happy. He said he won’t so who knows. Still the Celtics are the favorites in the east. Horford won’t have to played 30 minutes a game so he will be coming off the bench with Brogdon and Brissett and Stevens. Milwaukee pretty much just replaced Holliday with a man who can score 10 points more than him. We all know you need at least three stars on a team to win a ring these days. Plus a good bench. Milwaukee has two superstars but not a really good bench. Maybe I’m wrong though. Either way, can’t wait to watch it play out. The Celtics now have a good challenger in the east outside of Miami.
Portland got MORE stuff back in this trade, not necessarily sure it’s better or that they couldn’t have just roped in Phoenix with Miami and a fourth team to makeup the picks. They just didn’t want to trade him to Miami, lol. Funny dealings, but it’s ultimately a better deal for Dame I believe.
No, the Milwaukee deal is better than what Miami had. They get Deandre Ayton to be their center of the future alongside their dynamic guards, which itself is MUCH better than getting Tyler Herro. On top of that, they got some unprotected picks AND they will flip Jrue to a contending team for more draft equity. This was an excellent trade for them.
yes milwaukee wins in the short term might get a chip but its a big gamble for them. Portland is the big winner here they Get a top young big in his prime draft compensation in the future plus more assest from jrue. Portland, OKC, Utah are doing this right. Phoenix didn't loose or win.
I hate that we lost Jrue in the Dame trade, and every single one of our picks in the future. I feel like we should’ve traded Bobby portis and Marjon beuchamp if the salaries matched instead
Along with that, our defense in the backcourt now is going to be so insanely bad. If the team the bucks are playing have like only a good offensive pg or wing, Giannis might be able to guard him. But teams like the Mavs, Knicks, Celtics, Suns, and Grizzlies. If we could’ve made that trade for Malik Beasley, Grayson Allen, and Bobby Portis or Brook Lopez. Then our lineup would be something like Dame, Jrue, Khris, Giannis, and Brook or Bobby Portis. 4/5 people in that lineup could possibly be all stars, 2 all-nba, and 3 all defensive. Rant is a bit long but I like the trade. Sad to see Jrue go because he’s like my favorite player. Hoping he gets another all star appearance in Portland.
Milwaukee Super won this trade But Portland trading Lillard AND Nurkic for Holiday and Ayton basically. Should've gotten an extra Portis or draft picks
Dame is the better player obviously but Jrue-Bam-Jimmy would be such a Heat big 3. That's basically 3 x 20 ppg scorers at current output and 14 all defense selections between them. Blazers didn't want Herro for Dame so trading Holiday to get Herro wouldn't make sense unless there was a third team involved willing to offer more for Herro than the Heat would to upgrade Lowry to Holiday.
@@fpl_djhammer I know how great Dame is. But I can play Devil’s Advocate too (just like Heat fans have been doing since July): “He’s 33 and short and doesn’t play defense and makes too much money. We shouldn’t give up Jaime Jaquez for him” lol
