This junction has been the site of a number of deaths and serious injuries, and it's one to be especially careful at. The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has had regular attempts to stop the improvements that TfL was trying to implement for safety here. They are perhaps the most backwards and pro-car boroughs in London, and are often called the Royal Borough of Killing Children. It's not a place to go on your phone when driving.

Don't worry they are banning smoking from outside areas so you should be ok just don't breath in the pollution from cars trucks etc in over populated cities

The ambulance is a prime example of why not to be on your phone even when stopped. You need to pay attention at all times. I loved the chuckle from the Pimlico plumber.

Haters gonna hate, but one by one, they're picking up the points that tell them it's illegal to handle their phone behind the wheel. Still plenty of fish in the sea though. It's reported that Dorset Police recently borrowed one of the Operation Tramline wagons and in three days caught 120 people committing driving offences. So many fish in the sea!

This driver seemed totally ignorant of Rule 110 Con & Use ‘86! Such drivers are among the four most common causes of fatal collisions! (Fatal Four:- Speeding, Drink/Drug Driving, Mobile Phones & No Seatbelt, [Drink & Drug driving sometimes separated into separate areas by some making Fatal Five]). Not only does a fatal collision cost a life, but the long road closures caused result in many other lives being adversely affected:- just traffic delays you may think, but no! The officers manning the closures could be out there ‘chasing real criminals’, you know, that popular retort by some childish drivers to an officer challenging them on their poor/dangerous driving! I’ve known it where an entire local Police Response Team were tied up for their entire shift because someone thought they were a great driver when actually they ended up killing by not looking properly. Next time you’re moaning about Police response times, just think, “Are they too busy cos some idiot killed someone for a text??”

Because it’s a crime, and it’s a fact that it’s a dangerous crime that can have fatal consequences. Even using a phone whilst stationary in a traffic queue is dangerous. These are facts with evidenced research that Mikey regularly posts in the comments. [edit: I just realised that this comment may be perceived as a criticism of the comment to which I am replying. It’s not!]

@@philyoung1 I didn't impede the ambo, I waited until it was safe and clear to filter, and then I filtered on. Perfectly normal considerate cycling. I saw the ambo would need more space, and that's why I didn't filter, but the two motorcyclists did and I think they should've waited like I did, until the ambo was clear.

@@CyclingMikey I suggest you take another look. Particularly from 2.29. You were riding in the right hand lane in front of incoming traffic. If you want to be vigilant, you shouldn't commit offences. Simple as that as far as I'm concerned.

I drive down there a couple times a week, and even I find the traffic lights not particularly clear. It’s like they want a big truck to barrel round the corner crushing all the crossing pedestrians.

That stretch of road (Chelsea Embankment) between Albert Bridge and Chelsea Bridge *(East bound)* is slightly dodgy as there are cars parked along that side asthere are residences and its busy. I just divert over Albert Bridge and go through Battersea Park instead then back over Chelsea Bridge and rejoin and continue along Grosvenor Road.

Please DYOR but I believe if you are pushing it and not straddling and paddling it (pushing walking to one side of it), not obstructing pedestrians and the engine is off you should be able to. Lot of effort though depending on the bike, depends on the situation I guess.

@@kungfutuber Thant's my understanding, too. There are some real oddities, such as you can't ride across the pavement from the road to your own house, if you need to cross the pavement to park, but you can push you motorbike to do the same if it's off. If it's off then it's not different to a wheel barrow. Might be ok for a small bike, but a job if it's big!

@@stco2426 This one does make sense to me as you'd then technically be riding (or driving) on the pavement which is not permitted. The exception to this would be using a purposely added dropped curb/vehicle crossover to cross the pavement and access a property/driveway, where then it would be reasonably expected by pedestrians. I imagine this would be the same for cyclists too. Indeed, pushing a moped is one thing but something like a Harley would become a bit of a pain... 😅
