Thank you for saying the purpose of the church is not for the unsaved!! It's for the believers! So rare to find anyone who believes this.

And speaking of the singing, it should not be from Hillsong, Bethel, or Elevation. So many, if not all of the current seeker friendly churches sing nothing but music from these three organizations.

I am SO SO SO GRATEFUL for all our Truth Teacher's & Preacher's!!! Coming out of the Charismatic Chaos, I have FINALLY been being sanctified and renewing my mind with the Truth of The Word. It was September 2015 when I accidentally happened upon Justin Peters while looking for a Beth Moore teaching. Listening to Justin changed my life! I questioned so much of what our church was preaching & teaching, and I was the secretary for almost four years. I would ask my Pastor of why we don't do what the Word commands us, each time I would be given a sugar coated lie. I Praise God, Jesus & The Holy Spirit for saving me out from these false teacher's who are just wolves in sheep clothing. Thank you Steve, Costi, MacArthur, Washer and all the teacher's who Truly Truly care about the Gospel and sharing it with the lost! God Bless You All.

It’s SO refreshing to hear this. The church he describes is exactly the one I’ve been praying for, that I can be a part of & plug into so that I can go out & do the Good Lord’s will. They no longer exist in rural, suburban America; seeker-sensitive churches abound out here, at least where I’m at.. it’s so sad. Good churches are minimum 45 min to an hour away.. not at all like it used to be, the other way around. I’m still praying & hoping. I think a big move is long overdue for me, truly. By His grace. ❤🙏🏼

As a trad cat - I approve this Protestant message. It's possible that seeker sensitive "churches" conflate the church's worship space with a fellowship hall - which has a purpose but should be a separate space

Ekklesia is a Greek word defined as “a called-out assembly or congregation.” Ekklesia is commonly translated as “church” in the New Testament. It’s for a believers not the world!

When you described to what that influencer driven "Pastor" told you what a church should be like the Holy Spirit in me started crying in my stomach fell to the floor I can't believe people actually do that I mean Mr Lawson said it right, churches for worship you don't make up a sermon to bring the people and you had the sermon is given to you by God for that we correct? Sorry if my post is not grammatically correct and not exactly English major. Keeps the great work up costie

I agreed with everything, except the part when he said "People tripping over the skirt??" He couldn't even said the word women, this shows that the lack of respect for women 😢

Proverbs 29:25 tells us that the 'Fear of man lays a snare" just as an animal caught in a trap can't perform its God-given function, when you or I give in to the fear of man, we can't do what God is calling us to do & I fear that some good ministers of the gospel are caught in this trap & its more about surviving their time in ministry than it is about thundering out the truth of scripture because of backlash & ridicule. The verse ends, "But, whoever trusts in the Lord is safe." It's painful to witness what's going on in 'Seeker sensitive churches' greater will be the judgement on their leaders heads - pray that God would raise up more courageous, God honouring, God exalting, God glorifying preachers, the likes of Dr Steven J Lawson!

Most seem to be curiousity seekers not actual truth seekers.

I want that church. I’m in a seeker sensitive church. Women give the positive thinking message. Baloney, there are people who are headed for Hell.

Excellent sermonette. I'd prefer that brother Steve not snicker at the folly of seeker churches (as he did at the outset of this interview), as it's no light matter, and displays a hint of mockery.

Much truth in this video, but..there are things I'm questioning. I was surprised to hear so much speaking about "feelings" and what we should be experiencing. Some of this same wording used here was the same wording I hear when speaking against some of these larger churches worship services. I have much respect for Hinn and Lawson but over all there is some mixed messaging compared with other teachings/warnings I've heard from them.

I completely agree on what has been said but I tend to worry about how unloving people who appreciate this type of content might become here on comment section about the brethren attending other churches. I belong to a theologically sound church and I know some brethren who have this type of sectary conviction on their speech. You who are reading this: be humble with the knowledge you’ve got from God and tremble at accusing someone’s faith.

Guys, according to Calvinism some are irresistibly coerced into turning to Christ, all others are arbitrarily preordained to destruction by God's divine decree...so why fuss over church dynamics?

I think I am more inclined to the Baptist believe except for the issue with women in leadership. I think we have plenty of examples in the Bible that women can lead. I don’t think that God gifted women with certain talents/gifts just to go to waist. And every men at some season in his life have been and will be under the authority/leadership of a woman….unless your mother dies at birth…

I quit going to Church simply because of leadership afraid to preach the Bible. Buckling to entertainment and bringing in high profile guests and having membership with the deep pockets pandering to them over those with less fortunate backgrounds. I was raised in the Southern Baptist and thought by most conservative. They have become so progressive to pander to the left I will never shadow their doors.

I'm confused about his exclusion of women in the service. His example of "women not tripping over their skirts" isn't relevant because most women wear pants. I don't agree with the casual attire of men or women but many services have women wearing tight fitted pants that show their bodies and it distracts from the song, no matter how beautifully sang.

I'm a bit confused. Are we to bring unbelievers into the church or not? First I hear don't do what the secret sensitives do then I hear go ahead and do what they do.

The sad thing is that many people in those setups fall for those antics and acts in that "circus" and live a decieved life thinking they are saved. I was in such a setup ... pentecostal aog ... female pastor with designer skinny jeans, hillsong, bethel and elevation style. Straight after worship and even during Holy Communion a married woman would flirtingly make advances while im next to my wife... thats surely not "the called out" 😢

Oh, you mean the ones who do not want to hear the REAL TRUTH of The Gospel???? Or the tickling of the ears??? JESUS is the only One The big name people = IDOLATRY. RUN RUN RUN from these churchs. RUN TO JESUS CHRIST ALONE. Bless you for speaking out.

But what about drawing people with you popularity? It’s easier for Costi Hinn to start a church than No Name God Fearer who can deliver the word and shepherd better than anyone else’s but simply and no fame or platform. That’s the reality for the church that it will never overcome

@forthegospel #forthegospel How about “the dangers of quenching Holy Spirit” There is something called a MIDDLE ground. you don’t want to be so far left with no spirit at all and so far right with too much THERE IS A MIDDLE. THOSE WHO WORSHIP HIM MUST WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH you’re basing all of this on your bad EXPERIENCE….that’s right on an EXPERIENCE….so you do the same thing as what you blame others for. So now you’re basing your theology on your experience rather than what the Bible actually says. And that’s something you should really be concerned about!!!

Your building is NOT God's house and neither can it ever be! WE are His temple (1st Corinthians 3:17 and 6:19) The ekklesia (which is wrongly translated "church" in the bible) is NOT for worship. Our lives are for that.... not meetings (although worship is inevitable we meet and precious to God). However, the meeting of the people of God--the people called out of darkness into His marvelous light--is for the building up of the saints through the administration of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Do you want to know what our gathering together should look like? One beautiful example (among a few) is in 1st Corinthians 12.

If Dr. Lawson was consistent in his Calvinistic systematic, his answer would simply be, “Because God, before the foundation of the world, ordained those churches to be seeker-sensitive and for those pastors to behave the way they do.” His smirking and arrogant grimace when Warren & Moore are mentioned reveal Dr. Lawson’s distain and disregard for those not in his camp. How sad for the cause of Christ. May the Lord have mercy!
