I’m glad the times where us and the Swedes fought a lot are over. Now Scandinavia is one off the safest places in the world! :D We are like siblings that always fight and sometimes want to cut the others head off, but deep down they love eachother
And for good reason. He loathed the Swedish nobility and instigated the Stockholm bloodbath of 1520 slaughtering over a hundred nobles on a square in the city. He was deposed as king of Sweden and later he was imprisoned in Denmark by the Danish nobility and spent the rest of his life locked up in a castle.
@@stephmod7434 Greek got her independence in 1829, as a country they rivaled with Ottomans in les than 100 years so I dont get what you mean by 1000 years.
Scandinavians don’t go to war with each other any more. Siblings may fight when they are young, which we did, but we grew up to be responsible adults and siblings who care about each other. Swedes, Danes and Norwegians may have disagreements, but when we travel abroad and happen to run into each other, it’s like meeting people from home. While our languages are separate, they are still close enough for us to clearly understand each other with a little practice.
Oh my god I love this 😻 By the way, if you use paintdotnet you can install the editable text plugin so you can edit it instead of retyping and aligning it everytime 😁
8:05 10 Jun 1657 I notice a possible mistake, Denmark should already start off with the county of Bohuslän, which includes Bohus Fortress, Sweden got the county after the Roskilde peace treaty, thus received the unconquered fortress of Bohus. Fun fact, Bohus fortress has been under siege 14 times, and none succeeded in capturing it. BTW, I'm making a video of Bohus Fortress, and would appreciate using a couple screenshots of ur video :)
My congratulations, your videos are getting better and better! how would you make a video about the Franco-Dutch war? It’s because there’s no mapping video about it
Only slightly. He got the Kalmar war wrong, as the Kalmar war was a danish victory. John III was even dead before that. I counted 6 victories for Sweden and 5 for Denmark. Tho there have been more wars than these in the video. Like Valdemar Atterdags invasion of Gotland and scania
@@kronk7365 how did Denmark win if the union fell? I think I heard that Sweden even took over all of Denmark except the capital city in another video. But maybe that was another war.
Love these sort of videos and hate to be the Buzz Killington here, but the "Kalmar war" was actually a Danish victory and Queen Christina still went by the name Kristina Augusta when she ruled Sweden. "Drottning Kristina" is what we all call her in Sweden.
can u pls make a new alternate history mapping video for ww2 axis victory? Your old one had a few minor errors, and if possible, it'd be amazing to see an axis victory on all fronts.
From my reading of medieval Scandinavia, this list was enjoyable, jet incomplete. At the tip of my head, lots of wars happened around the turn of the 1300. One PhD I read coined it the inter-scandinavian wars.
Let me say that I noticed that the cross of the Danish flag Dannebrog moved a little bit to the left, around 1277 - 1471.🇩🇰 Like more from the English cross into the nowdays Scandinavian cross.
Sergeant Cornelius Chesterfield from The Bluecoats aka Les Tuniques Bleues or Blåfrakkerne in Denmark are outlined in blue (Denmark) vs Tawara Touta lived his home in Bergkvara, Kalmar County in Sweden since it's childhood are outlined in green (Sweden) Also note: Tawara Touta says Blårockarna is Swedish for The Bluecoats aka Les Tuniques Bleues and Sergeant Cornelius Chesterfield and Corporal Blutch from The Bluecoats aka Les Tuniques Bleues are Danish NATO soldiers
In 1678 the danes were completely ousted from Sweden. (No danes left in Scania or anywhere else) In 1700 the danes were forced to peace within weeks. At the end 1813-14 Denmark lost Norway to Sweden.
the Danes weren't ousted completely they were forced to be Swedes, if we do dna tests there will be a lot of "Danes in Southern Sweden just like Northern Germany where the people genetically are Danes, and in Eastern Germany where they are genetically Poles
... Or it would also be interesting if a video tells about pizarre anomaly in the year 1941, when the Europe (and UK) goes teleported on the West Coast of American continent just before the nazi army starts to invade USSR.
Continental powers wanting to have a disunited Scandinavia and letting brothers fight. Denmark and Sweden at literally the same people. Even more so than Scotts and English. It's also in the interest of continental Europe to keep Britannia split and not unified.
Hello, Neuronex. Please, make a video about hypothetical WW3 scenario, where the US and UK starts war against Russia (using NATO) and suddenly the New Swabia enters the conflict on the side of continental Europe, liberating its areas and kicking the AngloAmerican forces out and makes an alliance with Russia.
The hatchet wasn't really buried until the Swedes atoned for their sins in 1935, by sending a princess (Ingrid) to be married to the crown prince of Denmark.😉
Wrong flag.. Denmark 🇩🇰 has the oldest flag 1219. This has many flaws .. the Swedish king tried to capture Copenhagen in February 1659 so the rest of Denmark had to be blue not red.
You say the kalmar war was a swedish victory not quite sweden had to pay a enourmes amount of monet to the danish king christian 4 resulting in him becoming one of the richest men in eurpe
That depiction of the Great Northern War was pathetic. You did not include anything about the Swedish advancement into Russia or the massive territorial gains Sweden made in Poland-Lithuania. Instead you completely skipped Charles XII invasion of Eastern Europe to focus on the part when Sweden began to lose. Maybe you can consider creating history videos without the bias smh.
