Yes. We're back again. There's... more.
You might've thought we were done exploring the darker (I usually put the 'er ' in brackets... because, let's face it, we're still talking cozy games) side of Animal Crossing, and so did I... kind of. BUT after, even just a tiny bit of digging, so, so much more has arisen that I just HAD to share with you all.

It's so funny, I just heard the "Lucky is the zombified form of a dog villager" theory for the first time this week...but they said it was Bones? And I was so confused?? Because Walker was clearly the obvious option??? I'm so glad you thought the same as I did it on that (and, obviously, delved about ten times as deeply as I did on the subject). It might not be true now, but I wouldn't be shocked if that was the original intention for the two, only for later devs to either not know or not care.

Woah I hadn't heard of the theory with Bones until now, that's crazy! Yeah totally agree, 100% makes SO much more sense with Walker. Also solid agree that it might have been dreamt up originally as a little easter egg for fans to uncover, but likely something disgarded later on sadly 🥺
