It`s a top tune Dave and one of best ever . Such a haunting song from my Country . So I`m going to be hyper critical here if you don`t mind . Yes you`ve done a fair job here but I`ve heard the benchmark version . Yes I don`t like to say it but you`ll forgive me if I make comparisons with a friend of ours . Yes it`s our Italian stallion Luca ..I`ve never heard anything that just fits the song as his version . It`s what it`s all about Scotland ,the Islands .the sound. You have to feel the song Dave . It`s getting into the Islands and Scotland .It may be that you are an Essex man I don`t know but it`s Hank Marvin doing Rabbie Burns . It`s all about the atmosphere of the Islands , the mist ,the whisky .You have to get the feel of Scotland in your veins . So saying that I did say I was going to be hyper critical of this and I will be more so than anyone else on this one . It`s perfect if you haven`t heard and know how it should be done I just wish I could speak to you and I can`t play but I could explain how it should be . Still it`s a decent job you`ve done here and it`s me being as I said H C and I still enjoyed it as it`s such a great number . So have no fear I still give you 9 / 10 for this and I am pleased although you might not think it that you gave this a go . Forgive my crit as it is hyper but it`s what I hear . Cheers , Roger

why did you change the original melody so much? I think it entitles the respect of the manner in which it was written and recorded by Ian Powrie's band originally in the 60s for the TV show that made it the popular tune it is !
