Even though the intruder flees from police, in multiplayer mode he shapeshifts into other players, meaning he isn’t just a criminal, he’s a shapeshifter.
Something that messes this theory for me personally is the revamp of Chapter 2, I know this video was made before the mall revamp came out so this was working with the original dialogue but the new version has different dialouge, another minor thing is the badge for the first V.H.S. Tape, maybe the description and name were different but the name clearly states the recorder being "The First Victim" and the description states that the person recording was named "Kyle" so those kinda mess up the theory for me, the first VHS one is very minor so it could just be written off as a mistake when the video released tho so it doesn't bother me. It's the mall revamp that invalidates the theory for me though as the officer mentions that the police have recived "reports" of shapeshifters so unless the entire town truly does have Schizophrenia it's impossible for the Intruder to be some average guy
Update: If you die in mall and wait for the night to end the officers say that Shapeshifters are apparently appearing across the nation but can also turn into animals so that completely shoots down the theory imo
you forgot the part where when he catches you.. HE RIPS YOUR FACE OFF In the house map (where you hide in closets, and use cams) the phone call warning you about the intruder distorts in one of the last sentences to "ffo ecaf ruoy pir ll'eh" Which is actually "he'll rip your face off" backwards. Even darker, lol. Painful death.
@@alyssongabriel5116 i think he can mimics voices and body already, because he look and sound like human, but his head is the only weird part and he need a face to mimic
Actually the last one could be thrown in as henry, in the game he has very modern cameras and a very modern PC while the kid only has a low resolution VHS camera and henry was spared every time the kid was most likely spared as well, the kid also says “Im a victim out of everyone in this town that creepy man comes after me” if this was after henry’s stalkings which henry says “the people on the internet have helped me more than the police” so the kid would have had the internet which he would have used.
i'm not 100% percent sure if this is canon due to being show in the multiplayer mode, but in an interview the intruder is specifically mentioned to be a shapeshifter, disproving the schizophrenia theory
He's the shape-shifting man and there are no way to defeat them. Some personal believe that they are talk less but when going to single player and play the tape 2. He talks. He maybe a little bit good guy bc when u meet him at his hideout he comes to u but stands still and talks gently to you. After he goes to his... whatever he's staying. If u go to other cave hole . He comes out and calls u. As soon he realized he gets angry and starts chasing you. And idk what happens next bc I know that much
This theory is definetely really good but their is one thing about this that doesen't make much sense which is one of the mall's endings because u get different endings with how u play and in one of those they mention the intruder is a serial killer but also "one of those shapeshifters" this proves that in this universe shapeshifters exist and that explains how he mimics voices as well as sometimes your friends in the mall u can see him as the avatar of your friends which makes more sense and what we see the intruder as is mentioned in a note amongst the outside of the mall his "true form" idk whether this was their before tho since this was a month ago and i started playing this game just 1 week ago so maybe they changed some of their lore

In the new mental hospital level in multiplayer, the last page in the tutorial is the intruder with a seemingly human son. Also it would make sense for the intruder to attack the hospital because he likes to kill mentally ill people right?
Good idea, it literally adds up with the "hospital" level. You're in a MH because of Schizophrenia, the Unhinged is one of the patients that went insane.
In the newest update if you die on mall and wait until 7 AM you hear the police talking about mimics and how people are disappearing, So maybe it’s not his imagination
What if the intruder can actually shapeshift so when he was caught he shapeshifted into a normal guy and once he escaped he returned back to his original form

well he probably can enter in other ways its just he goes theu the front door only so when you closed the door he would probably go inside thru the window or smt and even if everything was closed he would just teleport inside cuz theres no way he goes around this quickly
Locking the front door wouldn’t work since the intruder can teleport, considering he can go from the street to inside the house. The phone has to be fixed because later we’ll need to call the police when the lines are finally fixed. As for the first one, idk, maybe canonically we don’t die
So I got this once and it said at the end of the chapter 2 revamp saying there’s a bunch of these intruders and saying that this could end the world so yeah
"Mimics the voice of other" mhhhhhh this is familiar i mean the mandela catalouge and also in the mandela catalouge there is an intruder but not seen by any mental illness but he is real
you missed something when ur taking in the mall and others beat it you get some lore if multiplayer isnt canon then maybe but it says the monster is a "shapeshifter" and there are many meaning there are different people with different monsters coming for them
I don't think you covered the fact that The Intruder was said to be also described as a shapeshifter NoL like it the entire story of The Intruder could be just his schizophrenia itself.
Let me recap on what the intruder is, so basically everyone has schizophrenia, and the intruder is actually a normal human serial killer who likes to play with schizophrenic people because he knows it appears to be schizophrenic people see the intruder as a more horrifying cryptid monster?
Why would his own mom want to kill him while also psychologically torture him? Unless if he had an abusive/evil mom. My Theory about this said " distorted 'I love you' " is that it's the intruder trying to mimic his wife's voice, until eventually learning to be spot on come the arrival of chapter 3.
You are wrong In multiplayer you can find a Noob figure that if you "admire" it will say:"My mom gave me this before she passed away from cancer i miss her so much" Meaning ur theory is clearly wrong
@@Safahヅ the only plausible way his theory can be correct if we make up something like the intruder is his resurrected mom after a ritual involving black magic. (Hence the seen upside down cross in chapter 3.)
