I am Mongolian and came across numerous archeological sites whenever I travel to the countryside. Once an archeologist told me it is easy to locate graves as they have stone indications on the surface but the majority of the graves are empty because it was tradition for enemies to dig each other's ancestors graves as a sign of humiliation and disrespect. Most of the graves were dug up and emptied hundreds of years ago. Since Mongolian empire always consisted of tribes perhaps that is why he wanted to hide his grave.

I've been fascinated with Ghengis Khan since I was a little girl (a very long time ago) in geography and history lessons; of course most of what we were taught about this famous man has since turned out to be totally wrong, but the fascination remains...what a great ruler he was!!! Thank you so much for all your hard work, I look forward to all your posts knowing that I'll learn something new while chuckling every time...Oh! if only our history lessons had been half as interesting!!! It’s surprising that people do have good side of Chingis. Actually his life was very humble and simple. Only role of ruler made him look like a tough one or bad. But as an orphan he devoted to his family and his land, stood against all odds, yet, he just did everything he had to, nothing extraordinary, but later on his reputations grew bigger but he was still temujin. I’m glad that there are more people have true story about him -than fake one. I’m Mongolian but this doesn’t make me to glorify chingis, I just want truth to be ‘untouched’.

It would not surprise me if all these stories were true. That is, maybe there was a burial on the steppe, and one in the mountains, and one near the court, but in two of these cases the casket was empty -- or more likely, housed an unfortunate double. This would be sure to generate conflicting stories that would confuse potential grave-robbers.

In Young Justice, there is no tomb because Genghis Khan was another alias used by the immortal caveman Vandal Savage. The whole part about his tomb's location being obscured was likely a tale told so that nobody would know Savage was immortal and he could adopt another identity.

Mongolians never had a practice where they cut body into pieces and feed it to the wild vultures. However Mongolians had the practice of leaving the dead without burying so that wild life can eat it and the remains could dissolve back to the nature. I have a thought why it's unlocatable. Let's set aside the essentially mythological stuff like the notion that everyone associated with the funerary procession was killed so that no living person remained who knew where he was interred. It may simply be explained by no part of his body now existing, nor having existed for centuries. With in ground interments, depending on soil chemistry, no discernible trace of a person may remain after as little as 30 years. He died almost 800 years ago. He mouldered and there isn't so much as bones or teeth left.

If he truly had 2,000 people plus soldiers killed after his funeral, then they should be looking for mass graves. That would point them in the right direction, since that's far too many bodies to move and where they were killed is probably where they were buried. Since Genghis Khan body buried in unmarked grave without any treasure on it (just like any other graves), even if someone find the grave and dig the body (or what's left of it), nobody know that grave belongs to Genghis Khan or just a random nomad guy buried in the middle of nowhere. People might think Genghis Khan buried with elaborate and decorative "GRAND MAUSOLEUM" like Pyramid or like many Chinese Emperors, you were wrong.

People are more likely to be wearing metal crosses at funerals, which take place outside raid or shine. This leads to more situations where people are wearing a conductive metal around a lightning storm. They also sit on metal folding chairs a lot at funerals

One piece of possibly pertinent information, what time of year was it when he died? If it was warm, they likely buried him rather quickly. If it was cool/cold, it would have given them a little time. Although, you would then possibly be dealing with frozen ground.

A French Archaeological team have certainly made a case for the location of his burial, through extensive circumstantial evidence: That is to say he most likely lay in a large burial mound alongside a handful of other royal burials, but they will never have the permission to excavate. Evidence also suggests that the royal mound is still looked after by mysterious caretakers....

Khan's Tomb has been known for centuries. It is ontop of Burkhan Khaldun, a Mongol sacred mountain in the Khentii Mountain Range. The Burkhan Khaldun region was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2015. So no one is going to go digging. Plus, tribal elders closely guard that area to this day, as per Genghis Khan's commands.

Only problem is there are all these videos on his 2nd channel where he works on cars and they film his head and his baldness is exactly the same as when he started. Keeps is a scam, no doubt about it.

Love your series. Always look forward to it. One fact correction however. Genghis Khan never conquered India during his lifetme. He could have if he wanted to. Atleast a good part of northern India. Later successor of the Mongols, a branched out family of the great Khan, ruled over the subcontinent as the "Mughals". The Mughals however, identified themselves as "hindustani" (Indian" in ancient sense) with their roots in far away Samarkand. Afterwards, you're mingling with the other mourners, reminiscing about Genghis, sampling the our d'oeuvres, drinking a little wine, and then people start coming round asking whether you'd prefer beheading, poison, or if you'd prefer to kill yourself. It's surely impossible to kill every attendee. Surely before you get down to the last 2 survivors, the temptation to just leave and live another day would only grow.

@@KarlJayce Uh, I'm gonna need evidence to back that up. As we have multiple accounts of people visiting Alexander The Great's tomb site up to 390 AD. From 323 BC to 390 AD. That's over 600 years of recorded history where people throughout the times record visiting it. There is a theory it was destroyed after Christianity took over to prevent worship of anyone who may be deemed as a god, since the last recorded mention was in 390 AD. There is another theory his tomb was moved to a Catholic Church after Christianity took over, as Paganism generally wasn't tolerated from a monotheistic religion. Unless you just mean that it's probably been destroyed by now, it definitely did exist, the mystery is just finding it, or at least the remains of it.
