We need to talk about MAID, or Medical Assistance in Dying. It's a program that allows you to decide when you want to end your life, and in some cases, the government even encourages it.

They can't even describe the element, but they do seem to know that "carbon chemistry" is another word for biology. Biological Life is their enemy, which is why the Left favors everything that ends life. From abortion to teen genital mutilation to mass-crime to increased drug-use, these are the "freedoms" they support..... and no others. Look up "Malthusian" soon, while you still can. It explains everything the establishment is about these days.

Why I'm bringing something up so personal is not only in relevance to the topic but also to instill the idea that suicide is NOT something to EVER encourage people to do and it completely rids the potentiality of a future a person is worthy of having. My mom’s husband once came across a man about to jump on the Golden Gate Bridge. He looked at him for awhile , the guy looks back saying,”….. well are you going to tell me to stop, to not jump?”. Her husband replies something along the lines of, “No, you can go ahead and jump if you want. I won’t stop you.”. It shocked the man so much that he got off and started to talk to my mom’s husband. Years went by and they ran into eachother. Dude apparently got help, got functional, started loving life. He even got married apparently. What I’m trying to say is that people may “feel” like they want to kill themselves, but they don’t want to really die… they want their pain to go away, they want help. So this MAID program, these assisted suicide (murder) programs are disgusting, they are straight up predatory.

Having assisted suicide as an option, also puts pressure on people to choose it so they aren't a burden. I watched a story on a young woman going through it once, and when she talked about it, it was clear it wasnt for herself so much as the people around her. As someone who has tried to "end it" three times, years and years ago.. I watched a documentary about MAID expanding to depression a year or two ago, and I have never been so filled with rage. Ever. I had to pause and walk away a dozen times. Because I would have taken that option, easily. I'm a good talker, so I know I would have gotten an approval. And now in hindsight I know that state of mind wasn't permanent.. Every time I hear about this that rage comes back.

As someone who battled serious depression throughout most of my childhood to the point of attempting to “end it” multiple times before adulthood, MAID makes me equally furious, heartbroken, and sick to my stomach. I’m truly glad you’re here, friend; and I hope more of those facing the same decisions will take the route you did than the alternative.
@Curt_Nod
@Curt_Nod 2 часа назад
@@KismetandKarma I'm really sorry you're in this situation.. Genuinely. I really wish I had better advice, but you're going to need to find your spine before you seek help, say on the first meeting that they are never allowed to bring up MAID, and if they do, follow up on that by demanding a new contact as well as file a report against the one that brings it up. Sorry to put it as bluntly as "find your spine", after all I don't know you or how easy/hard you find it to put up firm boundaries. Mostly I hate having to put it like that because that's an insane ask for someone seeking help. The most agreeable, easily persuadable person on the face of the earth still deserves help when needed. So them putting people in this position is just evil.. My first psychologist probably did more harm than good. I snapped at him after over a year, demanded a new one, and she helped immensely. So even in a regular system, if I wasn't disagreeable I would have been stuck with the first, just doing more and more damage. With the added weight of MAID it's just demonic. I'm a non-believer, more or less, but demonic is truly the only fitting word.. I hope you get better, however you make it there. Know many of us have, so it is far from impossible. Wish I could help more than that..

It's not inherently abominable, only expanding it to places it shouldn't be is bad. Very few Canadians would agree that giving people with terminal illnesses options is a SHAM. I live in Canada, and I am still a minor, I’ve had stomach issues since I was a child, so my mother took me to the hospital. The doctors didn’t know what to do and told me that I should get a colonoscopy and stay the night at the hospital, my mother was skeptical and left, then her friend said that the man who wanted to do the colonoscopy on me was not a very good man. Later we went to a doctor we have trusted for years and she said that I had no reason to get a colonoscopy and that those doctors were very wrong, I haven’t had many stomach issues since and I am so glad that I have a doctor I can trust. I know this isn’t that serious, but it’s still gross to think that doctors were trying to make a young girl who wasn’t in much pain go through an invasive procedure and stay the night.

My friend's son got cancer in the UK. They intentionally overdosed him against his will. He died, having never been treated for the cancer at all. They restrained him and put the drig in his IV. My friend had gotten a call to rush back to the hospital She got there as they were killing her son. He cried out for help, and she rushed to stop them, but they basically tackled her to keep her away. After they were done, they let her hold him while he died. The mercy of socialized medicine.

44 958 deaths from 2016 to 2022 in all of Canada. I’m from Québec, and 6.6% of our deaths in 2022 were from MAIDS. Qc and BC have the highest % of MAID. It’s truly astonishing when it is not used for people with terminal illnesses. There is a way out of depression and there is treatment for mental illnesses. There are tools for people with autism. I find it sad that they choose this path. Most people who choose MAID have terminal cancer (63% 2022), but almost 15% have “other conditions”. And that is a lot.

@@johnvanderploeg6707 the War Against Humanity series on YT talks about this. Before the Nazis started herding people into fields, camps, and ghettos to exterminate them, they started euthanizing the mentally ill and people with disabilities. They viewed those people as undesirable, but they really wanted to see if the German public would notice. Basically they wanted to test their systems. They conducted their first trial run on a group of people that barely anyone paid attention to, but the German people would become irate if they knew those people were being euthanized. Remember that the Nazis didn't come to power because they were popular, they came to power because Hitler was able to manipulate Hindenburg and put him into a position where he could take over. A huge majority of the German people did not support the Nazis, but the Nazis controlled the media. It was basically a test to see if their control over the media was sufficient enough to kill people they viewed as undesirable without the German public finding out about it.

This is sensitive and there are MANY of us practitioners that are vehemently against the expanding guidelines, while I am personally against the taking of human life, I also hurt deeply for those who suffer. But our government is spending outrageous amounts of money and unfortunately reducing the population- and the populous that are putting the most weight on the system with their needs- the psychopaths at the top have no moral quandaries with discarding life to enrich theirs. When murder is against the law but when it’s cloaked under another name to sound “compassionate”… never forget it’s still murder.

Follow this to its logical conclusion and it'll end up looking like something resembling the Star Trek: TNG episode, "Half a Life" where mandatory self deletions are required at a certain age (in the episode it was 50). The people performing those procedures aren't doctors, they are murderers. Angry Cops did a video on Canada's MAID "service" too. A disabled Canadian Army veteran had contacted their version of the VA and requested assistance getting a wheel chair ramp installed on her home. The individual she spoke to referred her to MAID instead. I spoke to some Canadian Army soldiers at my last duty station before I retired and they all confirmed that this story is 100% true. I want to end with this, before the Nazis started herding people into fields, camps, and ghettos to exterminate them, they started euthanizing the mentally ill and people with disabilities. There's a bottom to this slippery slope that we're on, and if we don't put a stop to this now, it will eventually become mandatory.

As someone who has some severe mental health issues (autism, bipolar disorder and severe PTSD) I really don't agree that people should be allowed to make us of the MAID program. When you're in such a bad place that you want to die, you can't possibly be in the right mind to consent to something like that. I've attempted suicide 3 times before - the last time was 11 years ago and I'm doing so much better. It would be a shame if MAID was an option in my country and I decided to go for something like that, because I wouldn't never have experienced the happiness I now have. I will always support it for physical terminal illnesses when things are so bad that it's just cruel to keep them alive if there is no hope of getting better.

What scares me about this is what about patients who cannot properly consent? I do not doubt government bodies would have motivation to kill, for various reasons, so how long till they make the jump to offering this option to, say, anesthetized patients? What about twisting consent forms? Because a lot of consent forms for medical care have the term that a doctor can perform a procedure without consent while the patient is unconscious if it is deemed necessary. How soon until maid is permitted as a procedure for the doctor to decide to perform? How soon till a doctor is able to decide for an unconscious person whether or not they want to live? I think what most people advocating for this don't get is that it's not their right to have these procedures as an exhibition of their bodily autonomy. Technically, they can always jump out of a building to execute their freedom and control. However, it is not a societal duty or obligation to assist people in doing such things. Their argumentation is really really stupid and arrogant. Any kind of governmental involvement in this means that taxpayers are involved as well without their consent. I can understand if it was a private company offering such kind of services, but again, they still need governmental approval and changes in the law to be able to perform assistive sui*ides. I just don't see any way it should be legalized in any form, as long as we collectively regard it as a morally dubious procedure

I've talked with her about this at length and down here it has to be signed off by two doctors who both agree that there is absolutely no way an individual will survive or recuperate. I've asked her about people like quadriplegics who cant live the way they are and she states quite unequivocally that they are not eligible. Being miserable with your lot in life is NOT a viable reason for MAID, at least not in Australia (at least not yet). It isn't an easy process and lots of people are denied however, and I asked her this as well, that doesn't mean the laws will be relaxed in years to come when other governments say, without a hint of irony, that these people are being done an immense favour....

As a legally blind Canadian where an operation to implant a synthetic cornea in my left eye would give me the quality of life to drive and go back to working in the warehouse jobs I enjoyed. Those things are not covered under Canada's healthcare system. In my specific case, Ontario's healthcare system. The doctor that could do the surgery works part of the year at Toronto Western Hospital but only does the surgery in Boston, MA. A decade ago, that surgery would have been about $60,000 USD, unaffordable to me considering being legally blind severely impacts the type of work people will hire me for. I was offered MAID back in 2022 and 2023 and I haven't seen the corneal doctor yet in 20204 for them to suggest it as an option again. I'm not even from the west and honestly I don't agree with a bunch of stuff Brett talks about, I do still watch her because I love how confident she is also because I can always disagree and not continue a video if I don't like it. Having said that there are times when I completely agree with her and this is one of those times. I was diagnosed with MDD (Major Depressive Disorder) last year and it was the worst thing to ever happen to me. The only things that kept me alive were my family, friends, medications and therapy, the biggest reason being my family because I knew me dying like that would literally kill them, it was their love for me and my love for them that kept me alive. I will never blame people for being suicidal and wanting to die because I've been there, being forced to live when everything in my mind told me to die was frustrating. But because I survived it and am better now, I know that death was not the solution. This isn't just morally wrong, it's horrifying and disgusting, depression is a curable disease and it should be treated like that. You wouldn't tell someone who broke their arm to kill themselves because you know the arm will heal. Telling someone that they should kill themselves because of depression does nothing but worsens the mental health stigma. Depressed people need help, not a death sentence.

Brett, thank you for talking about this. As a Canadian, I can tell you with full confidence it IS already being used in lieu of treatment. I know of multiple instances where people were offered MAID instead of timely cancer care in BC and in Ontario. One gentleman ended up accepting after waiting 4 months for his chemotherapy to start. 3 of those months he was hospitalized because his condition was so bad. Another woman had to pay $200K to fly to Baltimore to have HIPEC surgery because they told her here she was not a candidate for treatment but was a candidate for MAID and to get her affairs in order. When she got back and sought reimbursement, the surgical oncologist who is in charge of HIPEC in BC told her she never would have done HIPEC for her because "she's just going to die anyway". The most sinister plot twist of all is that this surgical oncologist has spearheaded a program for more eco-friendly treatment and cancer care. Carbon reduction indeed. The whole healthcare system in Canada in general is a HOT mess. I also had to flee the country twice in 6 months to save my own life because of a stage 4 ovarian cancer diagnosis. I'm also a US citizen & a vet. Thanks to the VA, I am alive today and cancer-free.
