Amazing too that the Thai authorities can investigate Caze's luxurious lifestyle and lack of any obvious income but are unable to carry out the same investigation for their own politicians, army personnel and police personnel!
Sounds like they were kind of forced into by many other countries who were putting pressure on them (i.e. those politicians were being "shamed" which is more humiliation than narcissists can bear).
To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edge as investors because playing the market like everyone else just isn’t good enough>. I've been quite unsure about investing in this current market and at the same time I feel it's the best time to get started on the market, what are your thoughts?
I agree. Based on personal experience working with an investment advisor, I currently have $385k in a well-diversified portfolio that has experienced exponential growth. It's not only about having money to invest in stocks, but you also need to be knowledgeable, persistent, and have strong hands to back it up.

"In 2014, the total amount of all dark web transactions was estimated to be $600,000" LOL ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? $600,000 an hour maybe. This is AFTER Silk Road. The market was HUGE
Right? these documentaries don't know the half of anything. they always talk about the drug aspect too. More people would be scared to know just how much of their banking info is out there for sale. I could take over and destroy someones life if i wanted too for really not that much money, and i am by no means some computer genius master criminal
@r n There is an ex criminal RU-vidr named Matt Cox who would steal peoples identities and build up their credit to maximize the amount he could steal with each identity. It can always get worse.
Wow -- to be "skilled in cryptography", have an IQ of 142, create a top dark web market with "layers of security", have a hideout across the world. Then to greet people with an email containing your real name? 🧐
Overdramatic narration. Dude was harmless, he's not a drug lord or a terrorist with body guards. There are so many criminals and politician criminals, warlords, bankers who needed to get this much scrutiny, they focus their energy on the wrong dude.
The big problem is the Government was not getting their Cut... thats why bartering sites are shut down, under the Guise of keeping the public safe...just maybe it was government agents listing the most dangerous products and the Government gets a Thrill shutting down free enterprise while allowing major Drug Cartels to flourish and keep the corruption payoffs coming in.
Exactly! Governments and local authorities DO get a "cut" from child/human/secks tr@ffick!ng, which sadly includes access to vi0late the people being held, so they don't work as hard to fight THAT crime. They advertise a takedown here and there to keep up with appearances, but there's a reason why Asian and African countries easily sell child secks services to mostly American, Austrailian, and European men. Let's remember why it took authorities so long to capture and arrest Warren Jeffs - they go a cut!
What amazes me is he used this clear net email address that he had been using for years, to send welcome emails to new users of AB. And used a handle that he had used on clear net forums in the past. For a computer genius he sure used pretty shotty opsec.
Surely if you keep all your passwords in an encrypted wallet on Tails, and use a new identity separate from anything to do with your real self, they have no leads?
Nice lie lol there's a zero percent chance he used his personal email to run the site; either the authorities are lying or he is not the guy who ran it and the former is more likely.
right! when I saw that im like dude theres no way this guy would be that dumb to make that mistake. I understand mistakes happen but this man knows what hes doing and theres just NO WAY POSSIBLE he would use anything that has been used somewhere else. you dont just make that kind of mistake when operating something on this level.
I don’t know, sometimes people make silly opsec mistakes, Ross Ulbricht (founder of the original Silk Road site) did something similar. AlphaBay is back up now, one of the people who was involved in the site launched it again I think, it’s not as big as it once was though, and there are more popular markets now, like Versus, maybe it will grow though.
It's possible. Mexico's Grand Velas Los Cabos has a $ 25,000 Taco on their menu, with gold flakes. I'm sure every country has accommodations for those that just wanna see how much they can spend in an evening. I googled worlds most expensive restaurants to learn about the taco.
Poor guy.He was providing a much needed service to those willing to pay.Like he said , he didn't believe the gov't has the right to tell people what they can and can not put in their bodies. But of course it became clear with the mandates on the vaxxx where they stand. As long as THEY do it to people , it's ok.Poor guy killed himself for basically providing a service ,kinda like Amazon.
I hate to sound like I'm advocating for criminals, but why was I not surprised to learn that he died in prison from an "apparent" suicide? Just another example of why there are laws in countries that give you some protection from the government. I am also extremely curious how a guy that is allegedly so smart in the computer world is so dumb to use an email that directly links him. I guess he thought that since he was in Thailand he wouldn't be bothered.
Hubris. He wasn't THAT talented of a developer. I also don't think he was aware that email was being used for the password reset system. Why you would use an old hotmail address linked to your real identity for testing your tor hidden service's password reset system? I have absolutely no idea. But I imagine he intended to swap it out before going live, apparently it was only for the first month or so of operations that the email was leaking.
nah I think the people that made this doc are lying. theres just no way that guy would be that dumb to do that. I understand mistakes happen sure. but when your operating a thing on this level youre just simply NOT going to make that kind of dumb mistake
@@tyreesneed Maybe they had to come up with an alternate reason? It's entirely possible that the police wouldn't tell them exactly how they figured it out and tied it to him? IDK If it IS the real reason, that had to be the dumbest move ever by a criminal.
@@tyreesneed bruh I can guarantee they are not. I interacted with this guy when he was just doing fraud and he wasn't some genius criminal mastermind. He had a huge ego and thought he was untouchable, even though he wasn't very competent as a developer. People were blackmailing him with his leaked personal info the entire time Alphabay was operating, he just didn't realize the FBI and DEA had been given the same info too.
This documentary was originally created by the BBC in 2020. ENDVR downloaded this and reposted it with his watermark. If you're familiar with the original content you can see (recognize) that some credit is given in the video description. I think ENDVR is the 4th person/account to use this content. A sad but common practice in YT...
"cybercrime causes 60000000 quadrilons of millions of trillions of losses to the government" but how? by not paying taxes aka protection tax to the system
"A computer genius with an IQ of 142." but still overlooked the fact his welcome e-mails weren't using a spoofed addressed. I guess he was more into pimping than he was into being a computer genius. edit: I can't believe his listed skills were all of those things including "E-mail Hosting" yet as above so below.
Maybe Alex was just a regular at alpha Bay and eventually they made him Admin when they knew the feds were onto them. Poor Alex was really excited to be given time admin job thinking now he could kick and limit users 😶
@@Benjamin-om3ih but NOT by corrupt agencies that allow deadly drugs but put cannabis as schedule I. It's all become a money game. Health of humans isn't pharmas desire! The US system is broken on every level & we export our dangerous products & mentality around the world via "aid". If a tiny portion of the billions spent on dangerous & ineffective drug trials were spent on basics of clean water & basic sanitation, we would see improved outcomes. Since private money is often earmarked for vanity projects, agencies hands are tied. What a F'd up system we have!
@@katiekane5247 Overall I couldnt agree more. Im not opposed to the concept of goverment, in fact i largely agree with it. I feel for you guys in the US cause its much worse than what we have in New Zealand.
For us who are watching this documentary in 2022, the most outrageous information is the price for half a Bitcoin mentioned at 26:52. By the way, I sensed an effort to making Bitcoin/crypto currencies look bad.
13:37 Alexandre overlooked this loophole -- he used his hotmail address _(an old email domain name by Microsoft)_ to notify the newly registered users of AlphaBay. Either he didn't know that there were onion-only email addresses to sent, or it was too late for Tor network to witness onion mails. He should have used an onion mail to notify the new users, and incentivised them to register their email accounts in the onion network. Gmail, Outlook mail, Yahoo mail could easily track your location and content.
I'm only a short train ride from the epicenter of East Coast fentanyl. The dispensaries got smart and weed is now a bit more expensive on the streets so there's less weed guys around. Since we're stuck with capitalism for now all drugs should be legal. Saves $ long-term since less people die from bs or get locked up. Everyone wins. Worked for cannabis.
Have yall ever considered using a narrator instead of frequent text in your vidoes? I'll often watch while walking so it kind of dulls the enjoyment for me, and I imagine many others like to listen while doing something else
A "computer genius" that uses his personal email address for site admin duties on a DWM that he runs, is not in any way a computer genius - he is just a very naughty boy!
If anything, you should let these markets thrive to an extent. It would remove a lot of violence from the street for one. Plus, everytime you shut one down, 10 more will pop up..sort of like cracking down on a specific cartel....they'll split into 3 more cartels lolss means more violence etc etc ...soooo
These videos help teach you how easy and convenient it is to buy drugs online. I'll be surprised if they don't tell us the exact ingredients for meth in the next series lol
this doesnt majke any sense. he is supposed to be a genius with 140+ iq but he got caught because of his real email adress which he used for market administration its like planning out a bank heist in full detail and then forgetting to wear a mask
Because he clearly hadn't thought how far the project would work. Was just a forum board and a email and then next of all you're the owner of the biggest black market on earth. Pretty easy to forget you left a message on a form board
@@abraxasfraxinus7744 Exactly. I’m sure he was just messing around not expecting it to go anywhere. A good reminder to take everything seriously from day one especially for less than legal things.
Crazy to think that some (probably all) of the people running these illegal marketplaces have watched this documentary (and all the other ones) in order to make sure they don't get caught. They might see this comment!
Screw the government. As long as nobody is hurting someone else, people should be free to do whatever they want. If they choose to use drugs, that's their business.
@@bestprice1776 there’s probably an extent to which you should protect people against themselves no? Because in case of heroin or drugs like that, at a certain point people don’t wanna use anymore but they’re stuck, they have no choice but to use. And everything falls apart
Make sure your thumbnail scream Dark Web and any specific topic like AlphaBay...People are more tend to click on that..your content is top notch quality 👌
ordered an ......... for about a 1000 dollars. went next day to check the status. site wasn't loading. days turned into weeks. weeks into months; then news that the guy killed himself. not pissed about that. i was pissed i lost 1k in crypto.
Computer genius = uses hotmail for illegal cyber activities 😂. A fking welcome msg using clearnet mail. Might as well visit the new user in person to say welcome
when I see the face of these experts I rather go outlaw on the darkweb than share my work place with than kind of psycho. I didn't like their parents and I definitely not like them!
Don't know how recent this documentary is, but the QR code at 27:15 still points to a functioning wallet that's been used as recently as a few months ago. Commenting in March 2023.
capitalism is not welcome. I just want to get high from time to time. Iall this effort they're trying to stop something that won't ever be stopped. Would be nice if they could clean up supplies and quality.
They say he had a IQ of 142, not so cleaver when he was signing off with his real name and using that real name to welcome new people who registered with an email that contained his real name, not so cleaver was he? Oh and do not buy a $47,000 meal as you will stand out like a sore thumb.
Dude I’m not believing the Canadian alphabay admin used his first name and year of birth in his email address. A supposed tech genius, I.Q 14.. whatever it was. I’m calling BS on the doc.
I ordered a few things from there back in 2014/15. Was so sad when it got took down. Then they took down dream market and today there isn't a market as good as one of those 2 which sells everything. And in case any fed is watching, I ordered weed, its decriminalized in my country and since I ordered in the "legal" amounts there is no reason to even bother investigating or whatsoever. But feel free to do so if its really needed lol
Pretty interesting. He made some silly mistakes that ultimately led to his downfall. Shame he committed suicide, perhaps he enjoyed the good life so much that a Thai prison was just not an option.
@@cybersecconsultants8766 yeh, I think De Snake verified himself with crypto wallets or something. They probably wanted Verses to go and played a role in it going even though it had some kind of security flaw.
Does anyone know what market place is best to use now.. like, not super popular, like Alfabay or Silkroad,.. One that's reputable, but still sorta flies under the radar for the time being? Any help's appreciated. Thanks.
I would never get involved in something like this purely if not for the fact that the logic just doesn't check out - EVERYTHING done online will have some sort of digital footprint. Even if that footprint is initially encrypted up to the teeth and only the best of the best stand a chance of decoding it, the fact is, if it's been built up by a person, so it can be broken down by one.
It hard to believe that someone that intelligent used a hardwired personal email... and that he didn't start fresh the day he decided to break bad. I don't believe that it was that simple.
I would love to hear the story of the huge darknet heroin dealer that was caught in SF. I can't remember his name but he was caught by the mail patterns being investigated.
@@BIKEBLADESKATE no, not Ross Ulbricht. I know his case inside and out. I've read everything, including his chat logs and trial's court transcripts. He truly was set up by the FBI, which an agent originally suggest a contract killing, and not only offered to do it, but pressured him into it. Two agents involved in his case went to jail themselves, including the one who pretended to be a hells angel and offered the contracts. I hope he's freed someday.
