I actually think people are missing the subtle themes of this game. The story is that you're making your way through a city that the actual protagonist visited a month ago, cleared the zombie hoards and bandit camps, looted everything interesting, saved the innocent civilians, progressed the world plotline, and moved on from. You basically arrived a month too late to have an actual experience. It's like a metaphor for not playing MMOs on launch day or something.
@@WalnutPlum5106 Hahahaha, I'm not gonna buy it, I was just saying. I dont even buy most of the games I do want, since they're never actually fully made when they come out anymore, why tf would I buy a half finished POS??
So you know how you have homework due and you try filling out the answers as the teacher is coming around to collect your homework? Yea that’s this game
@@JahJah223 . and? i never said it wasn't i was pointing out how they ripped of a trailer of another game frame for frame. you're comment actually makes no sense in reply to mine. I'm glad were both on the same page
@@anthonygordon9483 no really! i'm glad you were able to find out that. what about my comment saying how its a frame for frame of another games trailer has to do with that. thats were you lost me. quick to reply but not use that noggen eh
So we have: - Pretty much no zombies - Lara Croft from Wish - No music - Fiverr 'cool guy' announcer voice for the title Impressive. Very nice. (ffs Ubi just make a Division with zombies T_T )
This is how it always goes. 10 full minutes of smooth looking gameplay from the alpha. Then it will release "early access" and be a buggy stutter-fest.
nah this is different. It felt rushed just to get a gameplay presentation out so it doesnt get investigated. generic environments/models/animations/UI that you would get from assets in a game engine. Even the textures arent there. It literally looks like a team just cooked up a working demo in a week just so they could show something to the public. i wouldnt call this a game lol. the game's not real.
@Ghost Not quite like it matters in this game anyway. They don't even have a proper reload animation, I doubt they have proper recoil reduction mechanics
@@CrimsoNaga Not to mention how none of the environment is textured so everything looks flat and blurry and the girl looks like playdoh. That oven at 3:27 says everything.
@@CrimsoNaga It's not their fault... they probably only had like a day to code all of this when they realized they couldn't keep delaying everything. Besides, most of it is copied straight out of other games...
Let me see if I understand this, they delayed the game because of trademark issues, then release gameplay using the trademark they do not own, have their websites, twitter and etc use. Then after huge backlash they were forced to show us the gameplay video that they promised to show but reversed and then do it, but with absolute no gameplay? All what they showed was two people, not communicating, and gathering resources and that is it.....
oh you didnt get the updated news they were akready planning on delaying the "game" before the supposed trademark problem these devs are shady as they get
@@sebastianrivera9122 They can't sell it becasue it doesn't exist. They are russian criminals stealing investor money. You can bet they are going all over russia using proxies to get investors to dump money into their crypto accounts. If you wanna translate some russian, the "devs" are wanted criminals for fraud in 4 different countries. They paid animators to make fake gameplay videos and then hired volunteers to mock up marketing material.
I think ubisoft can create a more varied combat that. This game is gonna be a wild one when it realease. It's always nice to have a clown of a game like this to laugh at.
Still proves nothing 9 minutes of running around showing nothing and 7 zombie kills lol. You said I wouldn't want to miss this but you showed nothing. And you call that gameplay
@@derrickfarbes1805 everyone should remember that the anthem gameplay that was shown early was basically just a premade footage to look like gameplay cant trust anything devs do now and days
+ Character model. That's a lot of cake. + Environments look pretty good. The artists did a great job. - Quite literally everything else: - Too empty and non-eventful, even for apocalypse standards. - No interaction, so it's hard to say how the acting and the voice acting will be. - Zombies do absolutely nothing and drop dead. - Weapons have no appeal. They don't even have recoil. They should have not released this trailer.
It's literally old H1Z1 Remastered, think about that. H1Z1's oldest version was like Rust(I am not talking about H1Z1 BR NO, I am talking about H1Z1, just H1Z1, no other names before or after H1Z1). H1Z1 was literally DayZ but more fun and arcade like Rust. The Day Before looks exactly like that as well.
It looks kind of like those zombies have no AI other than to run forward and there are only 4 on screen at a time but the environment looks like there are supposed to be hundreds. I wonder is that an indication of performance issues. It is also hard to tell what the objective is. There seems to be a lot of looting and crafting but we don't see any unlocks, its just junk->health/ammo. There seems to be a lot around weapon customisation but we only see 4 enemies at a time and they seem to only occur in small easily avoidable groups. We see a bit of exploration but there is no active quest or obvious alternate paths or locations so you cant tell if it is a linear path or an open world where they cherry picked locations to visit. Overall it seems to have the theoretical elements of a game in place but no game. I cant expect that to be any more than a showcase of the environments, inventory/crafting and weapon customisation system. There are not enough zombies for it to be a zombie game. If they add more it may not perform as well or have the same flow and if they don't then there will have to be something else going on in that world to make it interesting. I can understand why people are unimpressed despite the seemingly decent overall presentation. It is almost the same effect as that Anthem trailer with the voice actors doing in game chat. The person playing is looting and crafting ammo and bandages, running around with an assault rifle, being all cautious of enemies, but then taking them all out with ease and never getting hit. There is a number code that they use which seems like it explains a simple minigame but then it just turns off an alarm, which has no effect as there are no enemies. It all amounts to a combined feeling that the character is acting into the mechanics a little too much to compensate for how useless they are. The alarm only matters because the person playing is frantically trying to stop the alarm, for no reason. The weapon mods only matter because they spend ages trying to decide but then they take out all the enemies with headshots before they even get noticed and move around vast empty areas. They hide and avoid enemies just to add a stealth element that isn't really there given how we have already seen how little threat a handful of enemies poses. There doesn't seem to be any particular reason they are going wherever they are going but the people playing are acting like they have someplace to get to which just looks like you were trying to add a false sense of urgency to the gameplay video. Combined with the lack of enemies around and the power imbalance it just seems weird. It is too much like they added gameplay elements by just roleplaying.
This looks so bare bones, like at no point do we see any real hordes, nor do enemies really react to that unsilenced assault rifle their buddy is shooting everywhere, like this looks like a game that you'll get bored with after you're done staring at the pretty buildings
Waow, I have never seen such innovative gameplay in my life! The graphics are detailed to the millimeter and the modeling of zombies is crazy! GOTY of 2023, I can't wait to spend all my money on cosmetics! 🐦
The survival mmo community has been looking for a new realistic clan base builder but everything has too small of a server size. If this game or anything else similar comes out that can hold at least 150 or more players per server, you might have a pretty good long term game on your hands.
So electricity is still available, meaning this alleged post zombie apocalypse is still relatively fresh. Why are there only a few zombies within that huge metropolitan area, and no bodies scattered across the ground or in any of the vehicles? Is this a gore free survival horror zombie title?
I like how the person playing lined up the character with the sunlight to show us the raytracing and the light bouncing off reflective materials and surfaces.
Why is this an issue?? That's what you would do in a game you were trying to show off.. show it off. There's no point in putting in raytracing and then not lining up for it to be shown...
When this was announced I had to call my doctor for being excited for more than 4 straight hours. Even with those cheeks, this trailer has given me ED. On the bright side, this makes me even more excited for State of Decay 3.
"See this game is totally real and definitely fully functional. Look at the cheeks. Look at this definitely real gun system and definitely real camera angles. All good here"
Glad the trademark issue was resolved so quickly 😂 The exclusion of doors and having non-diegetic crafting makes it *seem* real… It’s an apocalypse, why did she turn off the alarm?!?!
this game has so much potential but i refuse to believe that it isnt gonna flop. Survival games just havent been the same with Rust and DayZ on the playing field... I think they tried way to hard to make DayZ and The Division have a baby.
If this turns out to be real, It looks great and sounds great. A lot of zombie games often have too many zombies around every single corner. This reminds me of The Walking Dead, where the closer you get to the city the more zombies there are. If they include hordes every now and then it would certainly be an improvement but the eerieness and peacefulness is actually quite scary and how it should be if the outbreak happened months/years ago. People are just hating on this game for clout at this point.
@@J77199 Well a vertical slice is essentially just an early concept of their ultimate vision. Putting a bunch of resources and time into a demo version of the game, while the real version of the game is still a bunch of grey boxes, placeholders, and far from ready to release.
This is gonna be a No Man’s Sky situation. They got it too hyped, didn’t finish in time, set back and set back then it releases and isn’t finished for another few years.
