It's officially the best summer day in the UK this year so Chris, Vik and I all decided to take the day off but instead we had been working on this video. It's a totally different style to what we usually produce so please do let us know what you think about it! - We've also got a 10% discount sale on our #MugClub and #TeeClub, reply to this comment and we'll let you know what the code is!

This is good you need to do more of these. There are lots of froome moments that need this treatment (attack with Sagan, the downhill attack for example). But you need to do some of the others you mention too eg the Shleck/Contador battles. Voeckler defence. Superb.

@@chrispritch Andy Hampsten put in a legendary attack like this one in 1988. I believe it was stage 14, he attacked on the Gavia in a snow storm and rode away from the field. He ended up winning GC, it was an amazing moment in cycling. Unfortunately, not a lot of good footage from that day tho.

One thing remains in my thoughts about all this heroic, absolutely unbelievable sporting performance, and that thing was a quote by an Australian pro riding for a German team back in 2001. I quote: „Everyone is taking something, or do you really believe riders can ride the Tour de France and other such tours without taking anything“? He continued to say that if everyone is doing it, no one has an advantage.

Cancellara defending the yellow by attacting 1k befor the line, stegmanns beating boonen in the sprit or cavendish's iconic champs aux Elysee sprint. Pogacar pulled one off in the crono too. 1m21s ahead of Dumoulin and Porte. Yeah, sure.

Moves like this are very very rare! A lot of things had to go right for Froome and basically nothing wrong. I mean what if Yates didn't get dropped? What if Dumoulin had a master descender in front of him to follow? What if Froome had cracked even for 30 seconds? And just imagine too that everyone (the riders and the public) knows how much the gap is growing and he still got away. Even with Floyd Landis' move there are many variables that had to happen for it to be successful. (Regardless of the testosterone & EPO in his body). But you gotta give it to Froomie for even having the guts to attempt such a risky move. Like he said "It was all or nothing!"
