It's nice to see that she would give up on her career to help support her future husband's career a hundred percent. And also I read somewhere her decision to retire early was also that she suffered with multiple injuries very early on in her career and that's why her body gave up on her so instead she chose to travel with him and be by his side. That says a lot about her character as the unsaid force behind Roger.

I only know Ms. Federer-Vavrinec from this video and from Wikipedia, but according to that she is apparently a very likeable (and pretty) person (like Mr. Federer), and at the age of 18 back then Roger Federer was just as little a big earner as his later wife, so that the gold digger status can probably be ruled out for both of them, but according to this video the two were simply totally in love with each other (and probably or hopefully still get along very well with each other today). It is of course also a very nice coincidence that the two got two twin daughters in 2009 and two twin sons in 2014.
