Plus the 2 defenders that was guarding him was nba players. If it was given to any player it would been a dumb shot. But for Steph it's a good shot. 1 of 1 type of player
17 three's in 2 games is crazy. 17 three's in THE MEDAL CLINCHING two games is even crazier. 4 three's in the last 3 minutes is legendary. 4 three's in THE FINAL GOLD MEDAL WINNING 3 minutes is even more legendary. Put some respect on the 🐐shooter, Wardell Stephen Curry.
He’s in the all time starting 5. Has to be. Anyone who single-handedly changes the fundamental essence of the game of basketball - while achieving the personal resume of championships, MVPs, all-stars, etc - has to be in the top 5. BTW, can we once and for all dispense with the notion that he is just a jump shooter? First, the degree of difficulty of his shots is off the charts. Second, the variety of shotmaking is also. Third, his efficiency while taking these shots is otherworldly. Fourth, his finishing wizardry at the rim is uber elite and often goes unrecognized because of his jump shots. Fifth, his ball handling skills are all time great in the top tier with others from Kyrie to AI to Maravich to Cousy. Sixth, his off ball movement is 1 of 1. Nobody else in the history of basketball has done it like him. Seventh, he is an outstanding screener - specially for a small player. Eighth, he is an excellent and willing passer. Ninth, he is a superior rebounder for someone his size. Tenth, he is the all time free throw percentage leader. Eleventh, he is a willing and even at his best a slightly above average defender - something he rarely gets credit for. Twelfth, despite the moronic narrative, he is super clutch. Makes bunches of big shots and never misses free throws under pressure. Kobe knew. Watch the video of him talking about what an assassin Steph was before any of the talking heads knew it. Thirteenth, he is unselfish and accommodates the effective games of others into his own. Fourteenth, he is a great ambassador for the game. So… Changed the way the game is played at its essence Best shooter ever Best free throw shooter ever Best off ball player ever Top 5-10 handles Top 5-10 finisher Excellent passer Excellent rebounder Excellent screener Clutch Unselfish 2x MVP Finals MVP All Star MVP All time 3 pt shooter 4 championships Gold medal 9x All NBA 10x All Star Absolutely overall Top 5. And not insane to call him the 🐐
Steph Curry is the GOAT in many respects: he toys with the defenders, he moves very quickly, he has an extraordinary awareness of the game, he is a very good passer, his shooting percentage is far above average, his humility is only matched by his constant superior performances, he has changed the game of basket ball forever, he is a galactic three-shooter, in sum: he brings so much excitement to the game that even toddlers want to emulate him.
The day step curry change his legacy forever is when he make his usual opponent in NBA and the whole USA jumped and cheered for his night night. He make everyone knows, how exciting it is to be on his side of that court.
He should be number one without a doubt. He saved USA to get the gold metal. yes he saved the game. His shots are unreal and so far, out. He is the best that ever played the game.
How many players actually changed the way basketball is played? In the modern era Magic did it, Michael did it, then we have a long way ahead til we meet Stephen Curry. This guy's been a total revolution of the game! He's my favourite player ever and deserves to be in the GOAT discussion
I will never forget where I was watching the gold medal game at the family's vacation cottage in Michigan. At the last 4 minutes, I was watching Steph rise into "Chef" mode, where he had the inspiration, motivation and adrenaline to make victory possible. If you're a Warriors fan like I am, you know. The only word that came to mind those last 4 minutes was "Dagger!!" He was meant for that moment.
He is the greatest offensive weapon of all time. Even in 2017 and 18, Ty Lue focused the Cavs defense on him, allowing KD to get so many great matchups and open shots
Steph said it all, quote I have more to accomplish but NOTHING to prove. Generational talent all Hoop Lovers are blessed to bear witness to his greatness!!! "I Can Do All Things."
Steph is top 5 overall, but in terms of players who achieved the most with the least physical gifts, Steph is in a league of his own. He does not have size or strength, he is not the most athletic, cannot jump out of the building. What he does have came from personal skills development. This is, in many ways, why he is the most relatable to people. Very few of us could be Lebron because very few people have his physical gifts. However, people think they can potentially be Curry with enough hard work and dedication to their craft. No superstar has accomplished as much as Curry has with such modest physical gifts.
The fact that there is an issue still in his favor against the all-time established greats, like giants Michael and even shaq et al, proves that a midget-like Steph compared to them all huge GOAT contenders is worthy of the conversation--just like what the Big Aristotle said once in public
@@OugiEin Steph was hitting clutch shots though the PR was just for one play it set him up for a potential clutch shot but he still had to be clutch to hit the shot
@@curtiszyrthis mf obviously lebron or mj's fan. if not, then a curry hater. he's top 5 all-time given all the record, award and how he changed the game forever. when warriors won their 1st ring, every team in the WORLD started to design play, like warriors did, to their best shooters to shoot a three. non of the teams had that before
He is the G.O.A.T. of the three, a stat that he took over in his prime, not his twilight. He still has good years of play left in him and if G.S. surrounds him with balanced talent, you cannot ever count him out. Much like Jordan, he is the guy you want with the ball when the game is still in doubt and he is the guy who has proven time and time again that he can and will do it. The only other guys who shot three with such quality that I've ever seen were Larry Bird and Reggie Miller and Steph is just another level of accuracy with his range. In addition, he is joyful to watch, playful to interact with in real life, and just a super decent human being. His Legacy has already been etched in stone with his record of threes that may not be matched again and his 4 championships to date. That he did what he did at this Olympics just brought his brand to worldwide attention and he did, indeed, improve his magical legacy internationally with how he played the final two games. He is a top ten guy for sure. If he can win another championship, he'll just climb up.
Steph's top 5 GOAT for sure. Just need another title to shut that Magic debate for good. Too many traditionalist who rank all these older players on top when they basically had little to no competition. The landscape has changed. You can bring prime Bill Russell, Kareem and let them play today's players and I doubt he'll even reach 5 rings.
To me, he's the greatest PG. An icon for the right reasons. He is that unicorn, probably even amongst unicorns. Good video. What's the outro song anyway?
I put him at 4. I personally think he is the greatest offensive player ever being able to shoot further and more consistently than anyone ever while also being a good finisher at the basket. If he had the defense part absolutely locked he would be higher up. It is just extremely hard to put him above MJ, Lebron, or Koby for me
I still can't get over how stupid the voting was to be giving Iguodala the 2015 Finals MVP. Like who did they think was doing most of the work in GSW's wins through the finals? And to give Curry zero votes, sheesh. I would have been fine with LeBron winning it, though, dude was incredible as a one-man team despite losing.
I don't understand why we're talking about a Top 10 placement. Curry has been Top 3 ever since his fourth ring. The gold medal just cemented that standing. The only two players that I rank higher are Kobe and MJ, obviously. And the only people playing in the NBA right now I see having a shot at getting ahead of Curry would be Joker and Antman, depending on how the next 10 years go.
Iggy didn’t “win FMVP over him”… the media chose to rob Steph of the 2015 fmvp he rightfully deserved. That’s not Steph’s fault. He deserves full credit for the 2015 chip as he gets for the 22 chip
@@BigZ627 so what you literally just explained is Iggy won finals mvp over him great 👍 because nobody was saying it was Steph’s fault nobody was saying Steph didn’t deserve credit you just made that up for some reason
Yeah, it’s crazy that he gets so much gravity that he get double even triple teamed, defenders leave their men to leave people wide open for wide open baskets and they get the MVP that’s crazy.
They don't. That and the unanimous MVP will always be his. But it's also tainted by the fact that they didn't win a ring. And not just that, they suffered the biggest collapse in NBA Finals history.
@@RIPJimmyA7X I think something that boosts Curry a lot for me is that he has that "greatest shooter ever" title and it's undisputed that's what makes it such a huge thing
Arguably top 5, which is impressive for a player whose impact is mainly on 1 side of the ball. I'd say he is definitely top 10 and the best offensive player ever, with only Jokic and MJ being in that argument.
General consensus before the Olympics was as high as 4th best all-time to as low as 15th best. I was Steph > Magic *before* the Olympics because I've been super bullish on Wardell for a long time, always ranking higher than the consensus. He didn't move in my rankings. He's already peaked. But for others that had him on the edge of Top Ten all-time, they're coming around to my way to thinking now. Come on in, the water is fine!
@@mr.brownstone5716 yeah that’s kinda what I was getting at. I think these Olympics served as the “cherry on top” as I said in the video. Something that can push someone past the edge into the top 10 or anywhere up in their personal rankings
@@Swish2430 - He can't be Top 3 but he can be 4th best all-time. Many put Magic there, and for good reason, but in my eyes, he's been better than Earvin. The Olympics is that "golden cherry" on his NBA resume that tilts the argument in our favor. #WardellForeverrrr!!!
EVER HAD A PLAYER WHERE HIS OWN TEAM KNEW HE DIDN'T BELONG THEIR AND YOU WANTED HIM ON THE BENCH SO THE TEAM WOULD DO THINGS ACCORDINGLY BUT HE WINS SIX MVP
Steph has been my favorite players since his days at Davidson. He has only gotten better. But to take the team on his shoulders like he did against France, that is something LeBron lacks the character to do. Durant can, but in this game where national pride was at stake and with the world watching it was Curry. Don’t be jealous, LeBron. Use this performance to guide you to be the clutch player I don’t think you are but should and can be.
@@TLPWRlifter that’s not even fair because on average people typically range in 8-15 area so jumping from 10 to 25 obviously people are gonna say 10 more than 25 lmao
@@Swish2430 okay then have the third option be 10-15. Let the community speak because on every poll I've seen more people put him top 5 than not. I guarantee most of them are going to put curry top 10. Your opinion is not indicative of community sentiment which is what the measurement of greatness is. Steph curry single-handedly changed the way the game is played and is the greatest shooter of all time by a mile. If that's not enough to solidify you in the top 10, I don't know what is.
@@TLPWRlifter bro I’m not against curry in the top 10 I’m just saying there’s more people than just the people/polls that YOU have seen. Like I said before he is generally in the 8-15 range some people have him in the top 10 and some don’t idk why you feel the need to ask me to make a poll for. As long as there are people that don’t have him in the top 10 the question of if he’s top 10 or not is not put to bed
Steph is the goat But isnt done yet, so you want him to show more Steph is top 3, But isnt done yet, so you want him to show more Steph is top 5, But isnt done yet, so you want him to show more Steph is top 10, But isnt done yet, so you want him to show more Humans are naturally greedy. Wont rank someone that still has something to offer.
LISTEN FIRST AND FOREMOST!!!! THIS GOES FOR EVERYONE AND THEY TOP 5 OR 10 IF A PLAYER WHO IS SO SKILLED AT BASKETBALL THAT THEY CHANGE THE ENTIRE LANDSCAPE OF THE GAME THEY ARE UNEQUIVOCALLY WITHOUT A DOUBT ARE THE FIRST NAMES THAT SHOULD BE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LIST BAR NONE!! MICHAEL JORDAN SHAQUILLE O'NEAL STEPHEN CURRY SHOULD BE AT THE BEGINNING OF ANY BEST OF THE BEST LIST!!! I THINK IM FORGETTING SOMEONE LEMME KNOW
@@shemcristobal I don’t think that’s gonna happen if he wins the next 3 rings in a row even two would make him the goat. I don’t think he’s even gonna win one with the current Warriors roster
WHO TF Are to decide which on of HIS championship was "the most meaningful" ?! SMH TF you mean ?! He was ALWAYS THE BEST PLAYER ON THAT TEAM ! Caches were and Are Still adapting their Game-plan to him, Not to Anybody Else.
@@juliusperseus8612 anybody that knows anything about basketball will know 22 was his most meaningful championship. STEPH CURRY HIMSELF SAID 22 WAS THE MOST SPECIAL. GO AND ARGUE WITH STEPH CURRY OK? Or maybe try learning about basketball before talking like that 😂😂😂
Its not a matter of if he’s proved himself or not we all know he proved himself it’s about how far up in the all time rankings is he at this point in time
