Corvettes have been around a lot longer than you think.The first reference to a corvette was with the French Navy in the 1670s, which may be where the term originated.
Today, these small and diverse warships are used the world over as a manoeuvrable and budget friendly alternative to larger ships.
For our viewers, we prepare a list of the world's best corvettes based on multi-mission capabilities, armaments and manoeuvrability.

Can't wait for RB15 Mk4 Gungnir come into service, that's a major upgrade! Only thing I don't really like about it is the looks, it doesn't look intimidating but that's just to fool the foos :)

The K130 Braunschweig - the worst corvette, ever made! In 1800 tons displacement, the designers didn't find a place for AAW weapons, ASW weapons, submarine sonar (hull-mounted or VDS), mine-avoidance sonar, helicopter hangar etc. And has only 4 ASuW missiles! Expensive (EUR 400 mln.) and useless ships! The funny thing is that on the same hull, the new Sa'ar 6 corvettes were built. And they are the most heavily equipped and armed corvettes in the world.

Die deutschen Korvetten kommen mir irgendwie lieblos zusammenschustert vor. Die Bordwände sehen aus, als wenn sie chon ein paar Treffer erhalten hätten, und dann notdürftig repariert wurden.

It can also be a mine sweeper, plant mines, cross shallow waters, be used as coastal patrol, hit tragets from a far, engage air threats. Very impressed by the weapons carried on the Russian corvettes. Like all Russian ships, they seem to be loaded up to the eyeballs with weapons. *Good* weapons too.

The Visby class is a fast coastal defense ship, that depends on the onshore air cover,...really not a corvette! Any way the only discussion is about the type,...too much ado....😋
