I saw Rogue One before I realized what was really going on. I watched The Mandalorian when it came out just because I liked the people involved. I happened to be off the day Andor came out. I waited a few hours that day to hear if Andor was good or not. If it sucked I wouldn’t have watched it. I will probably watch Mando and Ahsoka regardless but I’m going to treat Skeleton Crew and Acolyte the same way I did Andor.

Everything in this video is right. Disney Star Wars just made everything (almost) dumb. I loved Star Wars for its serious themes and all the awesome stuff of the galaxy far, far away. The sequels (or rather TROS) just made everything turn shit for me. When I saw Andor, it was the kind of Star Wars I always wanted...but it also disappointed me because why can't Disney be consistent? At this point, I just gave Star Wars up for Dune because Disney just ruined it for me at that point. It makes me sad that Disney might never even listen to Star Wars fans and keep making shit shows.

@@atomallplanet6116 it's definitely a better movie than Star wars the care bears saga and while new Hope is a good movie it's just a retelling of the old save the princess story that's been told since primitive man looked at the stars and came up with it. Whereas revenge of the sith is action-packed Non-Stop and therefore far more entertaining especially when it's not retail in the store you've seen a million times before.

I agree but A New Hope was completely different circumstances. The first Star Wars, no budget, new cast, no fan base, nothing. It kind of stands alone in so many ways and it's not a good model for comparison.

It isn't depressing. It allows us to watch the OT (and Rogue One... I know, my secret shame) often until senility removes ALL Doucheney offerings from our brains, and our only memories are of Star Wars.... NOT Soy Wars. 😀

@the-trustees

@Brec I think they cannot get better. Nothing will ever reach anywhere near the awe and wonder of the OT and Dunceney has shown that they only care about soy boys shooting wads in their pants and NOT about real fans who aren't going to "play ball" with their woke agenda and are objectively correct regarding how awful Doucheney "Star Woes" is.

Ep 7-9 were meant to be 'safe'. This is not to say that expensive movies cant be ground breaking or simply very good movies. Just that this is Disney and their main brand is to be family friendly in all things. Streaming allows other options however. Which actually is just fine for me. With much smaller budgets, and new+cheaper ways to achieve great things, more chances can be taken. Might be a big success (Mandalorian), or a flop (Boba Fett). Kennobi actually wasnt all that bad. Not terrible but not memorable. Still worth making and watching though. And if something turns out not too good its not a big write off for Disney. There were good and practical reasons for cancelling the games. By EA, who paid a ton of money for exclusive rights to the franchise, not Disney. Spiraling costs. The technology was not yet there (is now). Other expensive priorities for the business. Both in terms of their cost as well as the need for additional programmers/artists/builders etc. This happens all the time. Also happens quite often that something might look great in demo's or at E3 but the final product is terrible.

Pirates of the Caribbean was PG-13 and a huge success. They already had precedent to not be entirely safe. I give them no excuses for what they created. Mandalorian and Andor are on point.
@restitvtororbis5330
@restitvtororbis5330 Год назад
@@dankcoyote revenue of the sith was PG 13 too. I don't think any of the streaming shows should feel compelled to keep it PG, if the show ends up having everything it needs and is still PG, great, if it ends up PG 13, neat. It matters much less on a streaming platform than actual TV. Like if Rebels ended up being Y 14 or whatever the rating is for television (for some reason not the same as movies) it would have been a disaster because i don't think it could have been on the Disney Channel AT ALL if it was anything beyond PG, and that would make it dead on arrival.

Rogue one was one of the best movies because it wasn’t a child version of Star Wars like all the other ones they make now

Dont give ANY props to TFA... A Jar-Jar rehash of ANH that fails in EVERY WAY a film can fail. I know in less than 15 minutes that TFA was just a series of "and then" coincidences that would be impossible in our universe. TFA is rotten to the core and to me, it is the WORST of the sequel trilogy.

Kid, $73 million 40 years ago is not what it is today. There is such a thing as inflation and dollar depreciation over time. So don't compare today's $300 million with that previous $73 million spent almost 40 years ago. This money had a different value. Ask your grandfather how many Haburgers $100 could buy in the 1970s and how many you can buy now. You've got a lot to learn about life, kid.😂
@Brec_
@Brec_ Год назад
Everyone knows what and how inflation works. What you don’t seem to understand is that these big numbers will always be compared to each other when talking about the films.
@Andrzejcojaturobie
@Andrzejcojaturobie Год назад
@@Brec_ You still don't understand, kid. I will write it simply for you. Adjusted for inflation, $70 million in 1970 is equivalent to $500 million in value today. Therefore, comparing the budgets of movies from almost 50 years ago using only the face value of the currency is silly. Wise people can check how much this amount of 70 million dollars would be in today's terms. But you are either too weak or too lazy. Everyone knows what and how inflation works, but not everyone can count it 😄
@Brec_
@Brec_ Год назад
@@Andrzejcojaturobie I'll get my crayons out to explain this for you, kid. $73 million was the budget of ALL 3 films in the original trilogy. $300 million was the budget of one movie ALONE in the sequel trilogy. But if you still wanna have a hard on for "Inflation", we can do the CORRECT math when comparing the budget of all four films. In 1977 (release of the first star wars film) $73 million would equal out to $285 million in 2015 (release of the first sequel film). $285 million is still less than $300 million (the budget for episode 7 alone). The whole point of comparing these films was to showcase that less money was spent on 3 films compared to 1. Maybe you should know wtf you're talking about before speaking up, moron.
@Andrzejcojaturobie
@Andrzejcojaturobie Год назад
@@Brec_ You just made a fool of yourself, admitting I was right. The author of the video tried to show how four times more was spent on episode 7 alone than on the first three parts, and you just confirmed in your comment that it's bullshit 🤣Well done moron 😆 In video the whole point of comparing these films was to show that four times less money was spent on 3 films than on 1. And you just helped me to prove the author's manipulations. The creator of the video compared the amount of $ 300 million to 73 million. If he wanted to say what you wrote, he would say in the video that almost the same amount was spent because the difference between 300 and 285 million is not big. Ps. Another issue is comparing the costs and budgets of films that start a franchise when their budgets are not yet high (because it is not known whether they will be successful) and their actors are not stars, with the situation when studios know that films in this series are already successful and the actors want more money for the role.
