God I miss her, she was easily one of the finest comediennes of all time. Her timing was uncanny and perfect, her one-liners and banter on the Golden Girls were absolutely hilarious. She was awesome, a true talent and a half.

I was lucky enough to have seen Bea's show three times in 2001. Met her personally the third time. She was just so unbelievable and so sweet and looked gorgeous in person and was amazed by my mom and me she thought my mom and I looked like sisters! She said "You look more like her younger sister." Love and miss her more than words can say xxx !!!

The world is worse off without Bea Arthur. I believe few fans saw the real Bea. She was private and sensitive, and a very caring human being. I love(d) her honesty and sharp wit. She didn't have time for things that have no soul. She was lovely - inside and out. She was the kind of person people should look up to, instead we seem to honour shallowness and stupidity nowadays. I would gladly stay home on a Friday night just to watch Dorothy. And she could sing. Well done Bea. You showed the world what real actor should be. We will indeed miss you.

Bea was a very unusual lady! She said she was "5'9,1/2" in her stocking feet" so with any shoe at all, (and she wore 2" heels regularly) she looked taller. With Betty White (5'4") and Rue McClanahan (5'3") and Estelle Getty was 4'10 1/2" and a year younger than Bea! So certain things were bound to be funny in that set-up! Bea could have the most enigmatic facial expressions, sometimes with that knitted-brow accompaniment and sometimes without, in any event, she came across always, as very stern and authoritative! I never saw "Maude" because I was working, and don't really like it that much now, but I love the "Golden Girls" and watch it every day!

I recently watched a few DVDs of "Maude," and some of the episodes were hysterical!! If you don't mind a lot of yelling and loud talk, you should give it a try!!

What.....she passed away 2 days after my 5th birthday. 6 or 5 years later, I started watching “The Golden Girls” on Hallmark Channel. Then about in 2017-2018, I started watching “Maude”. I really love both of these shows. Shame only one who still survives is Mrs. Betty White. RIP Dorothy/Maude , thanks for giving us your comedy. Can you said hi to Walter, and Sophia and Blanche?
