Catherine Nicole Howland I know, it freaked me out when I saw it again a couple of yrs ago. I saw that someone posted on another video that even more eerie is that in that scene they sit down in the order in which they have died .
“The Golden Girls” will forever be an iconic warm blanket on a icy cold winter evening. These four women were perfect and brilliant actors. I never grow tired watching every episode, again, again, and again.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Bravo Jay for switching Betty and Rue. The characters were perfect and so were the actors who portrayed them. The chemistry was an absolute joy for seven years - and in all the time since! Funny, relatable and moving. A well-deserved smash. Thank you, Bea, Betty, Estelle, Rue, Susan Harris and Paul Junger Witt, and all the writers. Truly a work of ensemble genius! xx
Honestly the last few years I've been terrified of aging.. I started watching Golden Girls reruns in order and noticed I no longer fear getting older. They are an inspiration that you can still live your best life & have great fun no matter what age. Now I just feel lucky for having 2 really close friends that I've known since High school. We hang out at least once a week & do crafts or go hiking or out to museums/shows/movies/mini vacations.. We joke that someday we'll be the Golden Guys! Especially since my mom is my best friend & all my friends seek her out for advice or to eat one of her amazing home cooked meals. So the 4 of us are well on our way to being Golden Guys.
When Blanche says: "You're my family, and you make me happy to be alive," it really set the tone of the entire series perfectly. THAT was exactly what made this show so wonderful. Shows, particularly with women, are often about hunting for a man, but on Golden Girls, the friendships were the most important relationship.
That line of Blanche's is so simple, so utterly powerful. 'Happy to be alive' is the ultimate compliment and driving force to be in this world - and friends and family do this for you.
The Golden Girls is by far the funniest series ever. Their humor is the best. I have laughed more watching their shows than any other. They are therapeutic. It would be so hard to be in a down mood while watching them. They have rescued me more than once from the "down and outs."
So sad that three out of four of these wonderful ladies, who have entertained me, comforted me, and made me laugh from the age of 8 to the age of 36, have passed on. I will be a wreck when Betty eventually joins them. I think I know the Golden Girls better than I knew either of my grandmothers.
Ronnie Saxton yes thankfully . And me too I always rematch and suprisingly it's like healing for me whenever I watch golden girls . The girls were so pure and there is no hatred in their bones . Wish I could go back to those times cauz nowadays so hard to find people like those characters .
I absolutely ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ this show!!! Still watch it on hallmark channel, and TVLAND. The most ironic scenes is when Betty Whites line is "what's going to happen when it's only one of us left"?! For that to be HER line, and she is the only one left, I get chills everytime.
Bea and Betty’s so called feud was blown way outta the water. Yes, Betty may have irritated Bea but what sisters don’t annoy their siblings, for crying out loud? ❤️
Do you have first hand personal knowledge that might add gravitas to your otherwise uninformed conjecture? Because there’s a rather recent interview with CNN, recorded not long before Betty White’s passing, where she confirms the rumors that Bea long held an inexplicable grudge against Ms. White. Which seems to consistent with stories from previous co-stars & directors, her short-lived ABC sitcom AMANDA’S PLACE being an outsized glaring example. But I admittedly those were old interviews for which I possess not the links. So it’s fair to say those rumors are also irresponsibly based on hearsay, but much less so since the always-classy Betty herself shared that bit of news.
The Golden Girls are known as one of the most humorous and outstanding entertaining sitcoms in television history. The girls comedic timing has constantly brought their audiences to laughing tears and hysteria more times than countable. They will long be affectionately remembered with appreciation and love by their adoring admirers. God bless each of them and kudos to their individual talents❣️🙏
Nobody has ever nailed their roles like these woman!! They owned their characters!!! The chemistry was an absolute joy to watch!! I have 8 brothers and sisters and 2 parents and there’s not one of us in my family that didn’t love this show! For Christmas I bought my 45 ur old brother golden girl shot glasses Any age any sex - we all agreed in my family on 2 things golden girls and jeopardy!
The only show I know where all 4 leads were truly fantastic. No weak link. And to me, they made the script more funny with their perfect delivery. Side note: I love what Rue did with her character. I can’t imagine Blanch sharp and colder like a Sue Ann Nivens.
I had the privilege of meeting Beatrice Arthur twice through letters and and later spent time alone with Bea during her Broadway show period one evening in her dressing room. It is still surreal to me. We shared a very emotional moment together that will always be a part of me. Rue wrote to me and she was incredibly open about her life, illness and career. You can't imagine how blessed I feel to know them in this way. I even own the lobster-shaped Jell-O mold that is seen in their TV kitchen!
Seeing the reruns now, I remember when I was younger and would occasionally watch this with my Mom who has since passed. Funny how this strikes an emotional chord in a way that I'd never expect all these years later. It takes me right back to a time when we shared some great laughs watching the antics of these four ladies. Miss you Mom, but somehow I sense you're right here with me as I (we) watch these shows all over again.
@@desertrose1226 I forgot about posting this. It's nice to have someone actually relate to something you post on the internet in a sincere and sentimental way. Thanks for reminding me....really, Thanks.
My grandma and I would sit in her chair together when I was little and watch this show. It was my absolute favorite and is a really fond memory. She passed as well but it's so nice to be able to see these things and think of those moments.
I have the same with Crime shows and some movies and Murder She Wrote. I watched it with my mom too a few years ago and she passed as well when i was 17. I’m sorry for your loss
The Golden girls sitcom came out when I was in highschool and I would watch it with my mom. Now that I'm an older man I still find time to watch the reruns with my mom. Golden girls will always be one of my favorite tv shows .
These show was so great. I wish there were shows like this on TV now. Just fun shows with good acting and engaging plots. Shows where in some way you can relate to the characters.
Literally on every rainy day and winter days I turn on the episodes of The Golden Girls, every single year now for Years! Love them all!! Each lady so special in their own individual way! 💜💜💜💜💐💐💐💐☺️☺️☺️☺️
They were my favorites as well. But all 4 played roles that added to the chemistry that made the show work. After Bea left and it became golden palace it just wasn't the same.
@I'm Tired Of It Too the documentary has the E logo. They did true Hollywood story but so other shows that would go behind the scenes of tv shows. They should do more stuff like this now that they are losing the Kardashians
@@oldtwinsna8347 It was nice, but it felt too different from the original golden girls. Just wasn't the same without Dorothy. It wasn't unwatchable, but I never laughed as much as the original show.
Wow!!! to have friends like these ladies is a dream. The love. humor.candor.loyalty.and even criticism for one another, under one roof. they truly are the golden girls.
One of the best shows ever, there are so many touching moments, great and witty chats, with all of these great characters - still enjoyable and I guess it will be for a long time
I Recently started watching this show (maybe a year or 2 ago) and whenever I watch I'm always so amazed how it was light-years ahead of its time ! Freaking love it.
Same for me. I started watching it about a year or 2 ago as well. And i fell in love with it. It's funny, good writing, and the ladies did a great job playing the characters. They covered topics that were not talked about at that time, and said things that many sitcoms today won't even say. I'm surprised they got away with it. The show stands the test of time. Funny even today, and even more popular crossing over different generations.
I have started watching Golden Girls since 1985, and I’m hooked.. up until now.. I love them so much and dreamed they were my family eating in the lanai..
I love the golden girls especially Bea ive been watching since I was 11 and now at 31 I still love it and the great thing about this show is that no matter how many times you watch the episodes they never get old and they are still funny they were all absolutely perfect for this show
I was born the year this started and I still look at it to this day. I'm heartbroken about the losses. God plz keep Betty with us a little while longer
The producers were worried about Rue and Beatrice having had worked together in Maude, 8 years earlier, no one brings up the fact that Betty and Rue hand been in Mama's Family a year earlier.
When i was a little kid i used to think The Golden Girls was a "girls show". Of course i associated that with my mom watching it and hanging out with my grandma. Im glad mom watched it. Now i do too.
Even as a kid, not really understanding all the jokes, I loved this show! As I got older and ran across the show in reruns, I would always stop to watch and of course I thought it was much funnier! What a hoot! There was SUCH TALENT in each of them individually that the show could only be brilliant when you combined them! Wonder what MAUDE would have to say about things today, in the yr. 2020? I'm not sure but I bet it would be HILARIOUS!
they don't make comedy's like this anymore.....tv is so bland these days, I don't even turn the tv on at night anymore and only listen to the radio. this show was great among other programs of that time
Im 28 and i love the golden girls i know every episode it never gets old. Especially if im not feeling good or just need a pick me i go straight for golden girls
I'm 33 and I started watching it about a year or two ago and I watch it almost every day. I watch them when I want something light and fun and comforting to watch too.
