The greatest trick this magician ever pulled, was convincing the world he is *Chinese*

I love magic and I find it hard to find information about its history. This channel is amazing and I cannot wait to see what is next!

great video. Apparently Soo would always take the gun that shot at him every night after the show. No one else was able to handle it, not even Dot. He would meticulously clean it to ensure that no gun powder would remain. For his performance, they loaded a real bullet into the gun, and it was supposed to go down into a secret chamber. The night of his death, they found a build up of gun powder in the gun, which caused the bullet to actually be fired, instead of falling into the secret chamber... Would love a video on Carter the Great! His book by Mike Caveney is one of the best stories I've ever read.

Thanks! Yes, it is quite horrifying when you think about it, as Jim Steinmeyer wrote - with every performance Soo was coming closer and closer to his death.. Thank you for the suggestion, I will certainly read the book!

You are right, his posters are among the most artistic and beautiful in magic. Chung Ling Soo was famous for his great advertising. I can't tell you the exact number but he had really a lot of them. And I believe that many were not preserved and some are in private collections.

Oh, Ghost. 🤦 The narrator of this video does not profess to be Chinese. (His name is Romanoff, for starters.) The narrator is simply relaying an anecdote about a man who pretended to be Chinese.
