The reason why Matt lost Jessica in the crowd was that she did the flying/jumping thing she has so he didn't realize she was somewhere behind him. I really wanted to see your reaction to the best line in the show: "If you grab me like that again, I'll punch you so hard, you'll see."

@@massimosaffioti8798 I don't believe he would have thought of that. Imagine his thought process in the moment. He was following Jessica and suddenly she jumps/flies, but he can't actually see her do it. I don't think his first thought would be "Oh, she can fly. Makes sense."

Since you two haven’t watched the entirety of the “Netflix Marvel “ series, Claire is the Phil Coulson-like character that has met all 4 Defenders. The cop Brett Mahoney and the crook Turk (both of whom you met in the first episode of Daredevil) are in nearly every season of each show. You saw Luke shake Turk down for info in episode 2.

In all of the Netflix shows, there is only a few minutes combined where Danny behaves like comic book Danny. That’s for about 30 seconds next episode, and for one cameo in the final season of Luke Cage. Every other moment he appears in these shows, he’s an angry whiny child, and not the zen, goofy/cheesy, barefoot, food loving Iron Fist from the comics.

K'un-Lun is basically Chinese (Taoist) Asgard. Or a better analogy is that it's Chinese Mount Olympus; there's an actual K'un-Lun mountain in the Himalayas that was once thought to be the home of the gods. In Marvel canon, there's a portal at the top of the mountain that only opens once every ten years in the comics, fifteen in the Netflix Iron Fist show, into a pocket dimension where K'un Lun exists. Some of Danny's mentors and superiors were actual deities and saints from The Taoist pantheon. It's disappointing in the Iron Fist show, we only ever see it from a distance as a matte painting, and then one or two interiors and the exterior of a cave. (None of it looks very Chinese) A much better realization of it was in the first of the recent Monkey King movies "Havoc in Heaven's Palace" 2014 (It kind of looked like "Omnipotence City" in "Thor: Love & Thunder" but with Chinese architecture)

9:08 Luke Cage S1 ended with Claire seeing Coleen's dojo's advertisement (like the ones she was posting on utilty poles in Iron Fist 1x01). In IF S1, Claire was training at Claire's and later got acquainted with Dany. Then she accidentally got involved with the Danny's and Colleen's fight and freaked out upon learning they were fighting the Hand.

So in the comics Luke cage and iron fist and not only like best friends but also They are the super hero Duo 'heros for hire" Also Luke cage and Jessica Jones have a kid together that spider man sometimes would baby sit , although now I think spider man has a kid and their kids are friends but that issue could of been in an alternate reality...

13:15 is a tragic scene, but also, it’s one of the scenes that makes me glad they officially kept the former Netflix shows 100% canon to the MCU “Sacred Timeline”. Debbi Morgan is such an amazing actress, underrated if you ask me, and that scene is one of the best performances in the entire MCU. A top ten moment for sure. You can feel the pain in the realization that all of her kids are passed on and I cry every time I see it. It’s a sad moment, but it’s one that brings you back down to earth in this world of superheroes, and demigods interacting with the general public.

This episode and the beginning of the next episode was where this show really shine. The actual Defenders chemistry together was really good. Thats why I think this show is better than it gets credit for because even Iron Fist was better here then he was in his own show (still a bit annoying none the less) I think the biggest issue this show had was the development of the rest of the Hand and how they wrote Alexandria most of the season. I always thought this show should of been at least 9-10 episodes. They rushed a lot of things with 6 episodes

The scene with Luke and Danny on RU-vid had more dislikes. Could be because Luke does not know anything about the Hand or the first thing about Danny. Danny did not grow up rich or ignorant of the lower class. Luke just profiles him for being white and having rich parents who were murdered by the privileged. Danny didn’t profile Luke for being in prison or say Diamondback was his fault. They end up doing what Danny was doing in the first place, so the message becomes redundant and annoying since Luke doesn’t ever apologise afterwards. One of the special things about Luke and Danny’s bromance in the comics is that they were never bothered by each other’s backgrounds, origins, or personas when they first met. They got along in the early stages and started to learn from each other. Instead of having them row, the scene should’ve had them share what they know and have them both go to Rand Enterprises which they both do anyway. This is my least favourite show, because it encourages the negative reception of Iron Fist instead of improving and it also drags the other leads we like into a poor structure.

But I think they kind of needed the way Luke and Danny interacted to start to help develop Danny’s character arc and given that Danny was an absolutist and Luke was always skeptical or being a hero or mythical behaviors in general in the other show, it makes sense how they would perceive each other to start. I think the real problem is that the 6 episodes were too small and they kind of never gave it more opportunity for their friendship and understanding of each other to grow in a natural way. Later in the Luke Cage series when Danny shows up and teaches him to center himself, Danny was much more endearing because they had more time together. Me personally I just think this Defenders series was too rushed and maybe it makes sense why cuz maybe they already knew by that time that Disney was going to want their IP back.

Danny acts like a little kid because that's what he was when he was separated from our society... much like Peter Quill. A lot of people don't like the way he acts, but they just don't understand that aspect of his personality. Danny's supposed to be unlikable. He's still that spoiled little rich kid, even when he's trying to do good. The audience isn't supposed to like him at first. Colleen didn't and, as you can see, neither did Luke. I find that, if you focus more on Colleen and Claire, the Iron Fist series is much more palatable. Glad You're beginning to get more into this miniseries. As you've no doubt realized from daredevil and Jessica Jones these netflix series are driven just as much by the supporting cast as they are by the title characters. Can't wait for the next episode where things really start swinging :D Cheers!

Hey guys, big fan from Ireland..I liked the Defenders, Danny Rand is a very cheesy character, its just who he is in the Netflix Marvel world..the next episode, number 4 is my favourite episode, when they are all together its very funny, they are good actors and have interesting chemistry and it has a great ending...

Not sure why anyone would think Matt's blindness would prevent him from recognizing Electra, if anything, it doesn't make sense that it took him so long to recognize her. He wouldn't need to wait to hear he breath They seem to forget the whole "world on fire" concept, Matt gets enough information from his all his remaining enhanced senses that he can easily recognize individual people, he had never had any problem doing so with ANYONE in the past.

This and the next one are fun (it takes a little long with the identity thing, mostly Matt but its all the next scene) I love that you guys are doing this, I always felt a little isolated in watching these shows and most reactors to this were men. But also, judge your numbers at the end of the day, because, for instance, it pops up at 830 am est for me when I am already to work. I send it to my watch later list and watch as soon as I get home but that is like 6 pm est.

I also liked the first season of Iron Fist. Of course, I liked Jessica Jones S1 and Daredevil much better, but I still liked it. I even liked it slightly better than Luke Cage S1. I have never seen Iron Fist S2 though.

Defenders is the only netflix marvel show that feels like its produced by Kevin feige without the budget feige is usually given. Despite that I still like defenders more than all the Disney plus marvel shows.

They could replace Jonathan majors with the guy from fallout or the guy from alien Romulus. Instead it's a white guy playing a Romani character. I'm glad those loki directors are working on the new daredevil show at least. But story wise loki may not even make that much sense like at all.

I think since you skipped the iron fist show it doesnt come across but Danny is more like Stick in that his purose isnt to help or look for crime. He is nearly solely devoted to fighting the hand. And unlike stick the full power of the iron fist allows him to be a one man squad. So marching into the Hand's office while foolish isn't as unreasonable because his only goal is to fight them. Plus at the end of his season his home for 15 of his childhood years is destroyed by the hand so walking into thei office to confront them is part revenge. If they fight now he doesn't really care

While the first 2 episodes aren't amazing, i think they would've been a lot more rewarding if you had watched all the other character shows that preceded it. Because then you pick up where the characters are after their shows story-wise in those 2 episodes, making them more interesting, and seeing how the threads started to wind before they came together in this episode. (Claire/Night Nurse is in each series, so definitely the main connecting thread besides the story, was cool to see her help bring them together here). Also some of the stuff that happens in Iron Fist explains how Elektra is acting after being revived. But good stuff as always, can't wait for the next pisodes and Daredevil season 3.

Intimidate them into submission by his mere presence. Iron Fist is a legend after all, destined to destroy the Hand (as the Chaste believes after all). If the Hand believes in the myth of Black Sky, they also know of the Iron Fist. Danny was naive enough to believe that they'll just give up without a fight. I guess they got very lucky that he ended up being such a dumbass.

His plan was "Stop wasting time beating up kids from Harlem who don't know anything about the operation, and instead take advantage of the fact I'm a billionaire to get me into the boardroom of this company that is running all of The Hand's business in New York, shake them up, find out who's actually calling the shots" And there he is, face to face with the woman calling the shots. It worked a little TOO well, because instead of a bunch of shareholders, he got ninjas and the Black Sky.
