Thank you guys for the massive support on this video! I'm not a great editor, but I wanted to challenge myself and I feel like I did a decent job on this video. There are a few things here and there that I wish I added, but overall I hit the points I wanted to hit. I understand your point, but just as you many did not understand when they were told not to pre-order or buy the game after a few months until we saw what EA was going to brings us and what did you’ll do? Then there are the results, don’t cry, because even with Battlefield 5, many people were already talking about the disaster it could bring and that was the beginning of the collapse of the saga downhill and until now no one understands, so the same thing is told again, do not pre-order the next Battlefield and do not buy it after a few months, let’s see if you understand now. Agreed! I watched both JackFrags and LevelCap until BF2042 came out. Then it was crystal clear they were hesitant or even downright avoided criticism for the game and I unsubbed to them immediately after. It was obvious they didn't want to say anything negative about it which is why I couldn't trust their opinions anymore.

After BFV's early cancellation, a shit ton of veteran dice devs were fed up with EA's decision making and left the company to make Embark, including almost the entirety of the Frostbite engine team. So basically the newly hired devs basically were placed into a situation where they had zero experience with frostbite and were forced to learn it from the ground up, which it seems to be what most of the development time set on for a major portion of 2042's development time.

Exactly, that's what I never liked and it was saw as a silly thing that they put natural disasters as the biggest innovation they would bring and launch from the beginning, a complete garbage, putting a tornado in all maps, even in a desert🤣🤣, which at first looked horrible, with trash quality and without any degree of realism, until now they only improved it a little, but it is still garbage, a waste of resources that they could have invested in improving other things or definitely not put it in the game, the only moderately acceptable thing is the sandstorm on some maps, which also needs fixes, but it is more acceptable, EA should have been put those natural disasters little by little or not at all, let's hope for the next Battlefield they better not bring any of that.

When they first implemented the scoreboard, you couldn’t see it at the end of the round. As for the squad management, you couldn’t kick people out of your squad cause “it wasn’t healthy ptfo”.

Edit: and the worst part is that you don’t even know you’ve been censored. You don’t see asterisks on your end if you type censored words. Only other people can see asterisks. All chat disabled by default cause it’s a safe space for everyone… in a game… where you’re supposed to kill people… where they censor the word “fuck” in chat… but the specialists are allowed to curse…

Retort on the Portal segment. The current portal state was not caused by too much freedom, it was caused by too many dumb restrictions and a bad server layout. The first thing Dice broke was the full progression on servers set up exactly the same settings as the official servers. To this day you cannot have full progress with the basic settings and the PvP A.I enabled. You are forced to disable the A.I which makes it almost imposible to start and maintain a functional normal server. You also are not allowed to add additional weapons and vehicles to the server, you can only remove from the official list. This way I am not able to host a Breakthrough server that also has helicopters and jets in it like it used to be before DICE ruined it. As about the layout: Because there are no filters to separe the normal servers from the heavily modified ones, all the main portal page is left is with all those weird hardcore milsim or zombie serfers which maintain a niche community which only plays that. As far as portal is concerned, DICE poisoned the provervial well and so the only lifeforms that can thrive in it are base liforms that can thrive in that poison

I think a lot of People liked BFV at the Moment the Game was cancelled. Especially after the Pacific Launch. Then Everything was shut down and Cut from Live Support. Every Ressource and possible Dev Studio was working on the new BF. But after the Realisation how Bad the actual State of the new BF is ,there was only Disapointment . No Love ,No Passion was Put into the new Game. 😢

I have still nightmares of the bolt with the 30 mm attack heli canon. I couldnt believe why they thought it was a good idea to put a light, fast tank with infantry shredding canon in the transport class and remember there could be as many as 7 of these vehicles per team.

Seriously, i dont even want them to be creative anymore just because they will mess it up. Do a remake with the best mechanics from BF3/4, adjust the graphics, add new weapons (maybe new vehicles but not necessary), add new maps and focus on 3-4 gamemodes (TDM, Domination, Rush, CTF with a all sorts of mixes like infantry only, hardcore etc.). Thats literally everything they need to do. Implement a good code and fix your bugs prior to release. I seriously I dont trust their creative process anymore which is sad.

I can't for the life of me think why they thought puting an objective at the top of a buildings coupled with being able to drop in vehicles a good idea..and on 3 MAPS hourglass, kaleidescope and orbital 99% of the time you lost but the few times using the hover craft and literally hopping from building to building climbing the side and catching the enemy team and vehicles all fixated on the elevator off guard and winning was super satisfying. Only launch worse than this was cyberpunks.

The primary problem with DICE is that they're not DICE anymore. Olof, Lars, Magnus, Stefan, Rob, Patrick, etc... all the founders left and created new studios (Embark being the most famous), leaving DICE being lead by EA, ex-Respawn, Bungie and Ubisoft employees. This is a franchise that has lost its identity and I do not think it will get it back ever.

Battlefield 2042 will become a testament to video games, ON WHAT EXACTLY NOT TO DO. I believe Battlefield is having an Identity Crisis; Battlefield has had it since BFV. Who remembers BFV’s terrible Battle Royale mode? And of course Hazard Zone in 2042. What Dice needs to stop doing is invest in developing and adding game modes that the core player base never asked for. But, the biggest problem with 2042 wasn’t touched on here: LACK OF CAMPAIGN. Ask Black Ops 4 how no campaign turned out for them. How am I supposed to know where I am, who I am fighting, who I am fighting for, when all of this context is added with voice over dialogues before the match??? Say what you want about Battlefield single players, at least I knew why I was in China in BF4, I knew why I was in the Middle East in BF3, and I knew why I was in Norway in BFV. TLDR; Dice doing things we never wanted, no single makes it confusing to know what the multiplayer is about, why should I give a damn when they don’t about a location or theme.

I feel like using aircraft in Bf2042 is pointless. Like trying to take out a tank with an Apache is virtually impossible because you need to land 3 direct lock-on missiles or a whole payload of AT missiles on a tank before you can kill it. Not to mention most of the time that is interrupted by an AA system that only needs to lock on to you and fire only 2 missiles. In BF 3 you could have a meaningful impact on the battlefield and change the course of battle where as in 2042 it seems as if you make zero impact because you either get shot down immediately or 75% of the airspace is gridlocked by an AA system.

Its like they went into making the game without a Master Design Doc *cough Starfield cough*. No outline whatsoever of what makes a Battlefield game a Battlefield game. They need to have a clear vision for the fundamentals of what makes this franchise unique and sets it identity apart from other shooters. BF isnt cod, bf isnt apex, or pubg. The devs have forgotten this and it will be their demise. Stop following trends and do what makes Battlefield awesome.

I remember buying the game only for portal, I had made a basic custom breakthrough mod more similar to BF1 operations before another guy made a great template for everyone to use, I had also made a kind of frontline mode but without mcoms because those were absent, and once they were available they were bugged. I also had another idea for a custom mode where teams would gains buffs from certain flags, like vehicles more powerful weapons or even more tickets, but I wasn't able to do make this one because I'm bad.

I remember a little after launch when either the servers were bad or my internet was bad I couldn't play So I was so thankful that dice added a bot mode to 2042 only to be disappointed when I was still lagging and getting disconnected from what was supposed to be a singleplayer mode with only bots because it still required an internet connection to play. I haven't touched the game since. My faith that the next battlefield will be worth getting is 0

That first part of that video has been happening a lot to me and its annoying as heck. I might try to spawn in an air vehicle and all of a sudden I'm underwater under the map and I can't do anything with my vehicle. So annoying

There is another point, that came to my mind watching your review Enders. I doubt Dice and EA will go from the year 2042, back to the year 1980… It is much more likely that they are moving forward in time, to Battlefield 2142 2. A couple of things in BF 2042 suggest this direction. 1) The game Title 2) The effort that developers at Dice put into post apocalyptic, future weather and map designe. 3) The Snow/Ice map in BF2042 4) Walkers and VTOL‘s seem to function really well on the frostbite engine. Just my opinion and i think another modern warfare game would hurt them even more as the momentum for this scenario, is completly lost.

Great review, you pretty much summarized all the issues with this game without overdoing it. To add on to the content section, I definitely think that some of the seasonal content DICE introduced largely deteriorated the quality of the game (at least for me). This included the addition of specialists and gadgets that made the experience way more frustrating than it already was. To be fair DICE did this with the past battlefields, however I would think a significant amount of development time was given to these additions instead of focusing on giving us more maps/guns, which just emphasizes how much their priorities were misplaced before and after the launch.

Loaded up battlefield 1 yesterday for the 1st time in 2+ years. Every game has moments that feel like they’re out of a movie. I so badly miss the pure art that was battlefield

bf2 may have had dolphin diving, but you still had to basically stand still and tap fire if you wanted to hit anything past 30m.
