Your builds have been so fantastic and fun. The way you explain points throughout the video really shows your profession. From these videos alone, I believe you must be phenomenal at it. I look forward to more of your content.👍
Hands down man, you are doing great work here. Clear explanations, overall very creative and precise builds. I would like to thank you for your contribution.
Great work. I've been watching other build videos and they skip stuff like skill point allocations. This video is what every build video should be. Clear and concise. Thanks. Liked and subbed.
AMAZING build! Thank you so much for sharing. I was using your tempest build before but due to some bad plot choices and me being unhappy with my companions build I quitted after last chapel. I used this one along with the companions build you made and I breezed through act 1, but the turning point was after that, simply taking Aldori sword lord at level 6 and the mythic shape shifting feat transformed the character in a damage dealing machine, seeing the transformation happen in just a few clicks really made my day. Superfun
Fun build, one thing I would love to see you add is more talk about how it plays at certain levels, maybe show gameplay snipets from 5, 10, 15, and 20. This would really give a player an idea of how it will perform start to finish. Though I do realize you already put a bunch of time into the video, so maybe that would be too much.
I actually agree, cause imo, this min maxing builds wouldn't be as comfortable to play level to level and to synergize it with the team. I'm pretty sure I could also made a really good build on lvl20 myself, like I think all builds at lvl 20 would be strong enough to obliterate everything the game put. Just the matter how you push thing much more. But this of course give me the idea on what abilities I could take for similar builds so it's great.
Most of these are builds that I theorycraft. I couldn't possibly do full playthroughs with every build I come up with, but the builds I do complete playthroughs with I usually do a more in-depth guide for. Examples of those guides are the monster tactician and freebooter trickster guides. I also have a mutant playthrough that I could do to correct the mistakes I made while theorycrafting that build, but I haven't recorded it yet. That said, I don't plan builds around a combination of abilities only available at level 20 and I'm sure this build would be an excellent tank for the entirety of the game as long as it has the right support.
@@bolshyplays1733 This build is amazing and literally what I was looking for. Something that actually GAINS from dipping in other classes BETTER than a mutation fighter 20.
Thanks for another awesome build ! That build also show what it's stuid in pathfinder rules: "if you wanna play a tank, don't play a tank". Very high AC can only be reached by non heavy armor build, making that armor type weak.
Arrrgh, stop! I don't want to re-roll and start over AGAIN! lol Nah, I'm going strong on your Death Knight build and I'm having a blast with it. Thanks for the videos!
It says a lot about the game. I have well over 400 hours combined from the beta and the game launch and I haven't been past act 3 because I'm addicted to the theory crafting.
Hi Bolshy, Thank you for the build. I love the theme of this one and I'm gonna do a playthrough with this next. I wanted to ask though, why so much Charisma? It doesn't seem to do much except add to our persuasion. Wouldn't it be more useful leaving it at 10 and adding those points to STR to make the early game easier? Or did I miss something Edit: NVM totally forgot that we dip into monk and get more than just crane style but also the Cha to ac
Enjoyed the build vid as always. And I have a question: Is there a way to build a Hagbound Witch as a Motherless Tiefling or is the penalty on Int to much to compensate for? No power build, just as an idea for a roleplay run, ruining everything on her way to higher levels, from her mother at birth (being hexed even before birth by some evil hag) to the end going into swarm that walks (i guess demon would be much better with even more claws/bites)?
Big fan of your videos. Is there a database for the game you reference when coming up with your builds or are you figuring it out from in game user interface?
Mechanically, this build seems exceptional. The only thing I don't care for thematically is mixing a Lawful Good character with the Trickster path, which is the embodiment of Chaos. I'd likely switch off to a Chaotic Good build and pick up Improved Unarmed Strike via the Obtale (Martial Discipline) background, or perhaps the Human bonus feat. I just finished a Lawful Good run using a Divine Scion Paladin who chose the Legend path, so I'm ready for a bit of Chaos.
Yea I fudged that part a little bit. I thought about going 2 levels of instinctual warrior, human instead of kitsune, and martial disciple background. But I've been doing a lot of human builds lately and I wanted to have a little more racial variety. That would allow you to go chaotic and focused rage fits the build because it is more a state of heightened awareness/ battle trance rather than regular barbarian rage.
@@bolshyplays1733 What would your stat allocation be if you went this route? I assume you'd want to boost Wisdom a bit for the bonus to AC and Initiative. Thanks!
Legitimately didn't know that aldori swordlord could add dex bonus to two handing..... that's literally the reason when I've never dumped strength even on dex fighters, that's so good
Since I'm running with a Battle Scion Skald (Seelah) that gives pounce and team feats (Outflank + Seize the Moment), I can stay in human form and still use pounce + instead of outflank I take Combat Reflexes which then makes me eligible for Seize the Moment team feat from Skald.
Love the build - I am trying it myself now with a small changes (no monk dip but rather the Imp Unarmed from the origin). Anyway, I've noticed that you didn't take such feats as Slashing Grace or Aldori Dueling Mastgery- are they redundant in this build? I'm not sure is the former stacking with the Deft Strike (so indeed it might be useless), but what about the latter? +2 AC, +2 Init and possible change of the damage type (slashing to slashing/piercing) might be handy
Glad you're enjoying it. Slashing grac does not stack with deft strike, also deft strike will give 1.5x dexterity damage when working a one handed weapon in two hands, which is what this build does. I don't think slashing grace will do that. As for aldori dueling mastery, that is a great feat of you are going for duelist levels. It's not a bad feat on its own by any means, but since we are eventually getting the shield spell, we won't need the +2 shield ac that the feat gives. It might be good while leveling up though.
@@dik4316 I know, i looked up all weapons in wrath, but like i said, ive almost completed act 4 and havent found one single magic dueling sword higher than +3. i remember in kingmaker there were many many more. generally the loot in wrath compared to kingmaker is worse imho.
I can't remember where exactly o got the master fencers sword but I remember it was somewhere in Alushinyrra, maybe one of the named city dwellers that attacks you if you talk to them. Make sure you talk to every group there because they have some good gear.
@@bolshyplays1733 hm ok, i'm almost thru act 4 and didnt come across that sword yet. but i will try and talk to every grp. thanks for the tip. you sure it was in act4 and not in act5?
the robe does work, It's dodge against evil creatures. so it doesn't show up in the character sheet but it is applied if you look at the combatlog when fighting evil enemies
Solid build, I love it. Your focus on crit/AOO would really benefit from Seize the Moment though. I have that on my [full respec] Spawn Slayer succubus companion (5X crit multi sickle dual wield lol) and when it procs the entire gang goes nuts with free attacks outside of our turn
I put STM on every one of my melee characters too but lately realized that it is obsolete if you also have Outflank which got buffed to essentially do the same thing as STM for melee characters.
STM is not replaceable on Ranged characters with the Snap Shot tree though, but it does seem a little wasteful to get STM for everyone just to proc AoO for that one character
@@GewalfofWivia I only recently patched and wasn't aware Outflank got buffed. When StM procs the entire group slams AoO, and I think AoO crits proc another set for party. Partially why Combat Reflexes pre-req is important. My MC has a 15-20 threat range, so it happens fairly consistently. I also have Opportunist on my Slayer. Wondering about the Mythic ability that adds (Mythic lv/2) d6 holy damage to AoO now. I think that's what it is
I was thinking of running a build with this kinda flavour of being the master swordsman , but was thinking on being a Swordsaint . How would that affect the build if Sword saint would replace the levels in Aldori Defender? Or would it be better to replace aldori swordlord instead ?
Nice build, Crane wing is working for you? for the last 2 patches I'm not getting the AC bonus(Turn base mode). Also , how do you use Microscopic Proportions while you size and weapon damage seems normal(you should be decreasing in 2 size categories).
Cast microscopic proportions first, then legendary proportions or frightful aspect on top of it. You keep the bonus to dex and get increased weapon damage from frightful/legendary.
@@TheShepherdFilms I am between barbarian or fighter on this one. I tried slayer but I didn't like it. Barb brings the damage and fighter the consistency. So difficult
I'm rolling a pure Demonslayer Ranger and I can't give the class enough praises. Like, it's not broken broken, but it allows you to focus on the other team mates more in RTWP.
Just recently switched my main to a Demonslayer / Deliverer /Mutation Warrior bow build and it's been great with initiative harassment and early multiple kills, I'm loving it!
@@Ghost19_ For real! I think a lot of people undervalue how much pwnage a bow ranger can dole out. I remember a campaign I was playing back in the day, D&D 3e back before you had to choose dual wield or ranged. We were deep in a cave system and the random table dropped a Roper on our faces when we were around level 6 I think? There were 6 of us to start including an experienced cleric PC a rogue with an OP cloak that allowed him to go total invisibility when he put the hood over his head, a barbarian, a monk, a wizard and me the forever ranger. On paper that would've been great, all grounds covered as far as balance. However, the rest of the party save me and the monk dropped pretty quickly lol. The rogue was first, then the mage, the cleric put up a helluva fight but fell, the barbarian was the first casualty and the monk was just *barely* holding on. I cured wounds to the cleric which rezzed him and did the same for the others which stabilized them all the while having to stay at range to make sure that if the monk fell he'd have someone to evac him. Between the 3 of us we FINALLY killed the Roper. It took around 30 or so of my arrows from my +2 longbow and several dodges/melee dual wielding wizardry (rapier and longsword so the damage was mixed but served its purpose in staving off the tentacles) and a bunch of monk punches to fell the thing. The encounter lasted the WHOLE 3 or so hour session and it wasn't even part of the story, it was just a random encounter lol. Anyway, I got bonus XP from that because 1. the Roper was part of a Favored Enemy class of mine, 2. I dealt at least 1 third of the total damage done to the beast with my bow and 3. Give how I acted was well within what a Ranger would do so role playing bonus XP, which was in this case, literally saving everyone's ass from a character re-roll. Ever since then I have played Ranger in every game that I can just because of how fun it was and is regardless of how little care the games give it. This game actually respects rangers and give them the proper TLC they deserve!
Love your stuff Bolshy. Liked and subbed. Not understanding the Improved, Improved, Improved Crit Feats you are taking? Did I miss a patch? Did I mess up speccing (I've tried a few ways now). But they are not available at the same points when I am following your video?
Nice, Very powerful build. Is there a recommend alternative than dip lvl in monk? Doesn't want to play "lawful" trickster. Also is there a special reason for 14 INT like spell slot or skill point?
I originally wanted to build around disarming strike and you need 13 int for combat expertise. I just found out as I was leveling it that you really want extra skill points when going trickster.
Awesome build, but Will it's too low, that mean if an enemy take control of this character is game over. So as we know AC it's not the only defensive stat we must take care, at some point this lower Will can be fixed and then we have a perfect build. Good job btw, I love your videos so much.
I tried this build, but I'm really frustrated that Defensive Parry never shows up in the combat logs. I don't think it's working, but I also just don't know.
As some other have mentioned, the build looks amazing but is there a way to convert it to Angel/Aeon? I love the idea, not so much the trickster path that sort of remove the RP behind it
Two things about this build. Do you need to stay lawful good after the monk dip as I'm pretty sure trickster works best for chaotic aligned characters. Second have you considered enduring and greater enduring spells if you can fit it in as that would get you self buffs that last all day if they would last 5 minutes. Its late and I'm tired but I think you could swap thunder blows and leading strike for them with minimal loss of damage to the build in exchange for a much longer operational window.
Yes you need to start lawful. If you change to chaotic as you level up you can't respect because your alignment will be locked. Enduring spells is an option but by the time we get a spell book we're level 20 so 20 minute buffs. Thanks for the comment!
Ha Haaaa You almost got me again, enjoying the 2H Striker too much to stop and start over though. This will definitely be my next run though, maybe not cause all I've played is the Trickster path so far.
When I finish setting stats at 6/20/10/14/10/16 - I only end up with +7 in Mobility and opposed to +8, and +5 in Trickery and +5 in Stealth as opposed to +6. Was something changed in the game because I think this will impact the prerequisites for class selection as you level?
The prerequisites only refer to ranks in a skill not your total bonus. So if it requires persuasion rank 5 for aldori swordlord you need 5 ranks not a persuasion bonus of +5
Thank you very much for this build Bolshy, It was really helpful and I think I will try it out on my next playthrought. I am honestly curious if this could work with a Legend Mythic Path and if so, how should i build the other 20 lvls :O Do you have any thoughts on that?
I may try this with Human/Angel/or Legendary mythic path...just as either of those seems to make more sense that the Trickster path(Trickster is very chaotic for a L/G dude) surely won't be as good, but I normally play on normal any way, I'm sure it'll be fine. ;)
Hi ! Thank you for the amazing build, Did the level 15 improved improved critical is just for the trickster mythic pathway ? I took human angel and for the rest did exactly as you did but the improved improved critical is nowhere.
To help offset the issue of low base Will, you can grab the Martyr's Ring from Regill's Act 2 companion quest. +4 Will saves and *immunity* to mind-affecting conditions, but vulnerability to Fire. (which is a much easier problem to resolve) You can get this by letting the Shadow Demon leave in exchange for its treasure. Reggie will obviously not be happy with it but if you do everything else correctly it won't matter for him long-term. As a few other comments have pointed out, you can also change the initial setup to an Acolyte background, Traditional Monk instead of Scaled Fist, Keen Kitsune instead of Kitsune, and then bump up Wisdom instead of Charisma - matter of fact dumpster Charisma entirely, you won't need it. This should help manage overall Will saves a good bit better, as well as giving you an additional skill point to work with for most levels because you'll have slightly higher Int over the original build. Also some curious item interactions worth noting: -Shroud of the Eternal Hunger shirt from the Shrine of the First Retriever relic research will give you +4 attack while shifted to human form. (though not the +4 damage) -Fencer's Gift(gloves) will give you +3 damage even though it says it's only for the off-hand while dual wielding or two-handed (oddly, the Bracers of the Heavy Hand which have the same effect do NOT work). The +2 bonus to weapon training also grants an additional +2 bonus to reflex/fortitude saving throws if you have the associated Advanced Weapon Training feats.
Hey im curious about your dip in Monk with the Lawful alignment requirement and the Chaotic alignment requirement for the Trickster Mythic path, how is that supposed to work? Unless they changed the requirements for Trickster, thats not gonna work, right? Correct if wrong :) Great guide!
It should be ok since we take the dip early and the alignment restriction stuff doesn't come into play until the mid game as far as I'm aware. Going chaotic doesn't cause monk benefits to disappear, you just can't go more monk levels
@@bolshyplays1733 Thanks! Guess it makes sense, but what about the alignment specific monk robes? Also, your build focuses on wielding the dueling sword two handed but i have no idea how to do that, any tips? cheers!
Instead of Vulpine Pounce and Mythic Charge, what are other good feats? I was thinking combat expertise, weapon focus, some other power attack. Suggestions?
Depends what you want more of. AC: combat expertise, damage: weapon specialization, You could go with iron will and the mythic feat to shore up will saves too
Hello there, I was messing around with dual wielding dueling sword. I was wondering if it's possible branch out to dual wielding instead of two handing it. Also I noticed equipping dueling swords on different weapon set makes you look like a blade master which is super cool.
You could do a dual wield variation. You would lose AC from crane wing and you wouldn't get the big power attack bonus for using a weapon in two hands, but it could work. I would go in on disarming strike, and attacks of opportunity. More attacks>more chances to crit> more chances to disarm.
Thanks for the time and effort you put into these guides :) I'm concerned about your AC when caught flat-footed, which to be fair is quite often in this game. How about 4 thug levels to get uncanny dodge ? You also get Finesse from there instead of having to buy it.
@@bolshyplays1733 You're already using Foresight wich (iirc) makes you immune to flat-footed, the weakest thing on this build is saves, I would suggest getting Mythic Trickster Athletic 2 earlier with skill focus athletics. There's also a mask later on on act 5 wich gives you +20 insight on all saving throws, probably worth loosing some AC from the headband of charisma, 100 AC is enough to make most bosses miss even on hard. Cool guide tho! comprehensive and easy to watch.
Uh is there a way to make this work on a merc/respec'd companion? I would love to see more builds for mercs since well you only have 1 mc and non mc's yet the majority of builds are so tied to the mc mythic paths.
This build requires the mythic trickster bustedness. All of his builds are for the main character.. and require mythic path bustedness. Don't expect your party to be able to survive nearly as well. They are sacrificed in terms of durability.
If you don't like dump stats you can start with Str 10 (12-2), Dex 19 (17+2), Con 10, Int 14, WIS 10, Cha 16 (14+2) so for marginally less dex you can carry much more.
drop your armor immediately and drink a mage armor potion. you will have like 26 ac, 30 by level 3. and plenty of strength through items relatively quickly in game.
Not to sound like a boring nerd (even though I am), but Kitsune is Japanese for fox. The final "e" is not silent. The sound groupings are Ki-Tsu-Ne. BTW, I love your builds. They have made this game so much more enjoyable! :)
I've been following your tempest build and I feel like i'm missing something, I have that with all my melee characters at the moment, the most damage i've seen camelia and seelah do with melee is 7 and when i hit with my rapier(using finn) its around 3 damage, beginning of act 2. Yet Lann shows up and he just murders everyone in 1 round. Lann's pet pretty much does the same. So looking to switch it up, but stay in the mage/fighter style. So I came across an eldritch archer build. well 2 actually and both seem interesting. The first is 2 EA/8 Eldritsch Scoundrel/10 Eldritch knight. Its a build adapted from kingmaker, so would have to look into mythic path progression. The second is 2 EA/4 sorc/4 DD/10 EK. That last one gives higher levels spells to cast with the keystone from EK and higher str bonus on composite bows. What's your opinion?
Looks amazing. But can we pick Angel path instead of Trickster? Or it's gonna make the build weaker? I never played a trickster, so i don't really know what this mythic path bring to the table...
Hello there! I feel like I don't understand why would I need to go for the power attack when the Pirahna strike is doing effectively the same. Am I missing something?
Yes the bonus to power attack is multiplied by 1.5 when using a weapon in two hands, piranha strike does not offer this bonus damage. It gets even better when mythic power attack takes the bonus up to +5 per -1 penalty. Even with mythic piranha strike you only get +3 DMG per -1 penalty , so 66% more damage from power attack
how do you intimidate ennemie with 5 point in persuasion ? Dazzling display use persuasion. Shatter confidence use persuasion. at level 7, dazzling display fail like 50% test....with 18 charsima.
Hi Bolshy and guys! In my opinion there is no reason to take infuse magic device lvl 3 on trickster mythic path btw. Cause spell book scaled for intelligence what isnt your strength and you drop almost all cool buff spells from it (transformation etc). Its good for magus or rouge with +int. You can take mythic lore rank 3 and pick power attack without 2 lvl at demonslayer and investigate in something else (also about monk cranestyle). Also after this choice u can reroll all your companions with broken loremaster style with any ability added to everyone.
It would be a great candidate for a mercenary. It will lose some of the over the top numbers, but it will definitely be a viable damage dealing tank. If you recruit after level 6 you also get to bypass those awkward early levels when we are taking dips and don't get dex to damage yet.
Is there any reason to play spellcasters? All builds seem to revolve around melee. Is there any powerful caster builds? Like bg2 Irenicus finger of death everything heh
If you go with a lightning focused build on Azata path, with zippy magic your chain lightning will hit twice (classed as a single target spell), and favorable magic makes them roll saves twice and take the worst. Something to consider.
