This show was so great. I love how Mark portrays Aunt Val looking down and away when Benjamin mentions toads causing warts, as she knows a near blasphemous statement has just been uttered.

The league of Gentleman gets better with age. How can anything so sinister and dark, be so hilarious!!

League of Gentlemen was absolutely genius comedy up there with Monty Python.

I hope to god this is remastered and re released on blu ray one day. The set designers really put so much detail in there that is missed or illegible in the current format. Especially in the Denton's house.

The whole story with Benjamin is that he was only suposed to stay one night before setting off on a walking trip with his friend Martin who he was meant to meet the evening before as well. But the Dentons stop him from doing that so he misses Martin and Martin has a run in at the local shop for local people in the middle of nowhere. Benjamin tries to escape back home from their house but is thwarted each time. He can never escape as the Dentons have the old town trying to make sure he doesn't leave Royston Vasey. In one episode he escapes to the aforementioned local shop but after seeing David he runs back to the Dentons. In the Christmas Special a few years ago Benjamin is arriving at the railway station to be met by Val following the death of Harvey which means that Benjamin did eventually escape. He comes for Harvey's funeral The twins (based on the evil twins in the Shining) by then were teenagers.

I always wonder at how each of them can make either a very attractive or simply repulsive personality playing all these characters...miracle.

How the BBC has fallen, its gone from producing comedy greats to producing absolutely nothing normal people want to watch.

It always annoys me that “...Chloe or Radcliffe...” doesn’t get a laugh. He even leaves a pause for the audience but they completely miss it.

That laughter track is an insult to the intelligence of both material & viewer.

Its wild how I see British men as the most manly men..cuz of the war and all...but at the same time...I think of them as the gayist. C

Well, gave it a shot on a recommendation by a chap a few years back. I must say I am a trifle disappointed. The league seem to be a modern want to be Monty Python. My apoologies English is my 2nd language
