There’s a “famous” Homerian quote from Iliad/Troy, “Be weary of the Danoi, who bring gifts!” The explanation I read was that Odysseus was Danoi

Tenaya~Danaya~Danaoi is very plausible, as much difference as in, say, UK to American pronunciation. I’m convinced, switching T to D and vice versa is common, the sounds are very close.

Great information! I thought I was fairly well versed with Greek mythology, but for some reason I have never heard of this Greek myth. Plus I now have something to look forward to watching the rest of the videos in this series!

Hiya Seth, YT stop recommending your videos, even though I’m subscribed, so I had to search for you. I turned on the notification bell, I hope that helps. Because it’s been a few months, now I can have a WHBAJ, otherwise known as Seth, good long history binge! On Saturday, I’m participating in my first ever virtual-Mitzvah for my cousin’s son, because of the pandemic. It should be fun, they sent a great box of things, candy, party favors, etc., for the participants/guests. It’s a new world in so many ways, but religious/cultural tradition continuing to go on is a comfort, so will be being with my extended family again after so long🙂

You were doing so good in this video and then you just went off. The Danaoi originally came from the Aegean Sea whether it was closer to Northwest Anatolia close to Troy or Greece in the Peloponnese. The Dardanoi were related to the Danaoi. I do not think that the Danaoi were the same as Hattay or the Hittites. Just like I do not think they were related to the Canaanites but settled in Canaan for a unknown amount of time.

Was the Greek search for wisdom brought home when returning from hearing Solomon. Was the abandonment of human sacrifice in Greace due to Hebrew influence. Was it an acceptance of moral aspects of Hebrew religion by the Romans the reason the reason they defeated Carthage who were famously human sacrifice worshipers ? I think the influence of David and Solomon on their neighbors has been discounted by historians without reason

Danaus of greek mythology and the biblic character Dan (son of Jacob) are the same ones, narrated by different cultures. There are evidences of it.

I am curious to know did this movement happened in the time of Troyan war or before that.
