The family of Anthony Tomaselli lived for years believing their beloved father and grandfather had died of natural causes. But his daughters shared a dark secret. Unfortunately, they also shared a lover, a man who would eventually blow the lid off the secret they’d sworn to take to their graves. Like that wasn’t bizarre enough already, as investigators dug deeper into the nature of the crime itself. the motives of the people involved would only become stranger and ever more perplexing.

i was about 10 years old when one of my best friends and her cousin went missing and were found murdered in the woods the following winter. they didn’t get enough coverage at all, the case is still unsolved to this day. their names were Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins. i miss them deeply, please consider doing a video on their story, they deserve to be known.

Don't give up pushing for coverage on this. When I return to RU-vid I will try to remember to cover this. However I'm gonna tell u something I don't tell many people. A few years ago my mother called me and said I need to warn you that your uncle has been arrested. And I was like ok....which one? She's like Larry don and I was like why? The words that came out of her mouth will haunt me for the rest of my life. She said " he's been arrested for a double rape and murder of two 13 year old girls Shawna, from 46 years ago DNA just got him" I freaked the hell out. I was shocked but at the same time wasn't. I grew up with this uncle and never noticed anything odd. But I heard stories. And he was and had been a registered sex offender for like 40 years for another double rape a couple years after the murders of these little girls. My uncle did this. And even though some of my family say he didn't, he admitted it and he did do it I have zero doubt. My point here is, he lived 46 years thinking he got a way with it. Until someone took the cold case file and actually entered it into the CNA computer system 46 years later. The families of these girls knew my uncle and lived in a couple houses away for many many years and even though he did get away with it for 46 years, they finally got him. So never ever give up and never stop fighting for this because one day whomever did this will be found. I'm so sorry this isn't being talked about more and again I will talk about it after doing some research once I come back to uploading. I've been dealing with life changing stuff and had to leave for quite a long time. But im hoping to come back within a month. Take care, and I hope u see this reply.

@@This-Is-My-Little-Corner evansdale iowa, the police havent given us a whole lot of info as it’s an ongoing investigation all these years later. there was a suspected connection to the delphi murders but that’s been mostly debunked. i hope one day the internet or someone can crack their case. it’s hurts not knowing.

I worked as a nurse for 18 years. During my last nursing job in 2008, I worked on a unit that were for indigent patients waiting for nursing home placement or post surgery patients needed physical therapy before returning home. This one patient I cared for over an 18 month period was unresponsive and vegetative but did not require life support. She was only 36 yrs old and had suffered a massive stroke during a cocaine overdose. I walked in her room around 4am one night to find a family member straddling the woman on the bed holding a pillow tightly to her face. This was the first time I witnessed any movement or response from my patient as she was deeply groaning and kicking her leg. Before I even realized what I was doing, I found myself literally airborn as I tackled the family member and we landed on the floor on the other side of the bed. Maybe not the best decision but it was instinctual. I literally laid in the floor holding her down until police arrived 10 minutes later. She was charged with attempted murder and my patient's will was found in her purse by police. She pressed charges against me for assault but it was dismissed very quickly once the solicitor got all the facts. Try doing whatever you want to me but DO NOT f**k with my defenseless, vulnerable, totally dependent patients.

There are people working in care homes killing patients too. My cousin works in a care home and apparently one of the older members of staff has casually put a pillow over patients faces to kill them when they're near the end of their life, but I literally said THAT IS MURDER and needs to be reported! :/ another relative said they would report it&get it looked into. It honestly disturbed me to my core that this shit is casually happening 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️💔

I was the sole caretaker of my mom for 3 years. She had severe dementia. She would keep me up for days, literally 3 to 4 days at a time. She refused to take her medication because she thought I was trying to kill her. I had to lock the fridge because she would feed all the food to her cats. We couldn’t use the gas oven because she would try to turn it on and set things on fire. I had to barricade the doors shut because she would try to run away. She would tell me I was going to hell. Throw bottles at me and shatter them all over the floor. Throw cans of Coke at me and bottles of water. Try to poor water and coke into the wall plugs. Pee on the floor and refused to bathe. I had adult protective services all over me because she refused to eat or drink anything other than soda. I lost my house that I loved and everything, I mean everything. I never once had help, no one. My niece was upstairs and my sister only wanted holidays and happy memories. I finally had enough and was going to put her in a home. But I never once thought about killing her. I never thought about hurting her. But I knew I couldn’t take care of her anymore. I understand frustration, but this poor man was very much alive, he had life in his body. God wasn’t ready for him. They stole his life!! He didn’t have the last stages of dementia. I’m glad these two horrid people have to live in a cage. I lost everything for my mother. They killed for gain. This hits my nerves hard.

I know exactly what you went through. My mother is 💯 the same. All of that you described except we were fortunate enough to have siblings but even then it became too much for my mother and she is in a nursing home now. I always thought I would be against that but it was definitely the right thing to do. I was relieved when she went there only because I could sleep at night knowing she had good people caring for her 24 hours a day. Her medication, personal care, and a safe and very secure environment were what she needed and still has. I’m devastated for you in all of your loss due to being a carer. It’s astonishing that protective services didn’t give you any kind of support it’s so sad. I hope you are getting back on your feet and I wish you all the best for the future ❤️

@@mariemarie2888 it was the hospital that kept them on me. We had doctors, nurses, and physical therapist coming to the house. Everyone knew what was going on. She even fought them in her constant hospital admissions and stays. They all heard how she spoke to me. They even asked if I was willing to place her in long term care and I said yes every time. Then said they couldn’t find her a proper home. And proceeded to call protective services on me again, after protective services agreed I was doing everything I could. I had taken her back to our home state under the guise family would help. Even protective services and the nurses could not believe our family wasn’t helping us at all. I finally called her doctor in the state we were before we moved over 12 hours away and she told me get her back here and to the hospital even if I had to fake it to get her admitted and she would take over from there. The family waiting for me to get back here before throwing a fit because I was going to have her placed in a home and I ended up going broke taking her back and dropping her off. Now they won’t communicate with me at all outside of badgering and using my grown kids to attack me and accuse me of dumping her. It’s insane how it goes down sometimes. I’m now living in a camper on someone’s property with 2 teenage girls. And have no family.

We have a very famous arab story that is similar, A man in ancient arabia has an old father, so one day he invited his sick father to come for a ride with him, the father accepted thinking it a opportunity to lift up his spirit abit, so when they rode far away into a secluded area on a horse, the son declared his true intentions, and that in reality he brought him here to kill him and bury him, so the father exclaimed " but why, am i not your father, have you forgotten all of my favors upon you!?", "don't fight it, it is an already decided matter... you're a great burden, and i can't take it anymore" the son said "well then, if you are adamant on that, do what you have to do to me under that rock" the father said, surrendering to his dire fate. "what difference does it make to you where you should be killed" the son asked puzzled. ".... that's where i killed my own father"

My dad has dementia, at the level they say their father was at. Their father honestly did not even sound half as advanced as they claim- still able to make his own drinks, go out, play card games, even drive. This makes me feel absolutely sick. Anthony Thomaselli I am so sorry.

My grandmother is in severe dementia and is a great deal of trouble sometimes but we all love her and change our lives where necessary to make sure we can do our best. They're using the justification of a mercy killing because the truth is too shameful to admit.

I agree Bee, my grandad could have just eaten dinner minutes before and when I would ask what he had eaten he would reply "I don't no" he was on a zimmer frame but now in a wheelchair. When he had the zimmer frame he would be up all night shouting for help..I bet he still does God bless him. We all hope he would go to heaven with my nan and my mother so he can be who he really was compos mentis ...we would never ever hurt him, we freaking love him and can't comprehend how or why they did this as he wasn't that bad in his illness. They did that for monetary gain and nothing else. He doesn't have bowl function and I know if he was in his right frame of mind he would hate living like this but we aren't God.

@@Sinsteel my grandpa passed away last year and left me a considerable amount inheritance. I got the papers last week to sign for it and I saw my grandpa's signature on the papers and I lost it. I would give anything to have him here with us and would choose him over money any day. I would give up my savings for him to be here again. I can't fathom hurting a loved one for something like money.

If I end up with dementia or Alzheimer's, and I was to the point that I no longer could understand who I am and who's my family. I hope my three kids would think about having me put out of everyone's misery. My sister and I, had to make the decision to switch our mother from keep her alive care, to comfort care. She had advanced dementia, lost both legs to diabetes. 2 heart attacks and multiple heart surgery. Comfort care is just keeping the person comfortable, until nature takes it course. Not much different than taking someone off life support. Unlike on T.V., that process can take hours or days, of the patient slowly suffocating to death, until their heart finally stops. I was involved in making that choice, for my Grandmother. Technically, my kids won't really have to choose. I have a challenge proof living will, that makes my wishes clear.

That's what I say. They make the choice to kill him. Usually when you have dementia it advances quickly. There's no shame or misery in that. It fdoesnt last long. These ladies murdered theor dad. They have no idea what their dad's wishes were. hey took it upon themselves to choose for him.

I looked after my father for thirty years after a stroke. Nursing care never entered my mind he’s gone now but I’d give anything to do it all over again. He couldn’t talk and the man couldn’t help but smile his whole life it was a blessing and privilege 🇦🇺👍

My mom had stage 4 Colon cancer metastatic to literally every organ and bones. She had been on chemo for over a year straight and radiation for 2.5 months. She was suffering so much. 4 weeks before she was put on palliative care, she begged me to put her out of her misery. I wanted so badly to help her with this because she was a shell of the person she once was. She was absolutely miserable. She became delusional/delirious towards the end and could barely talk, didn't eat or drink anything and just was in agony. I wanted to euthanize her, but I couldn't bring myself to do that because she was my mom and I loved her more than life itself . If they had killed him for that reason, I honestly could have understood, but that's not what this was. This was greed and just didn't wanna put up with him anymore.

It happens all the time in hospice and hospitals.. they call it palliative care.. they provide large doses of Morphine which the body can’t process and the patient dies usually within hours due to kidney and/or liver failure and respiratory failure. It is VERY common and usually goes hand in hand with the removal of any life sustaining measures (feeding tubes, ventilation…). I personally know of several people who died this way. It isn’t considered murder but I honestly don’t know why it isn’t considered assisted suicide other than the patient is usually too far gone to consent. It isn’t necessarily a bad thing.. a more peaceful way to go

There is no way they would let a CNA do that. They can't even administer medications or shots they can only assist a patient. Only a Nurse or a Doctor can legally administer medications. So if she did do that it was something she did without the knowledge of her superiors in which case is straight up murder again. She sounds like an idiot who's bragging about murder just turns my stomach. Disgusting human being.

This is personal for me. I lost my dad in hospice care and my sister and I sat with him every day during his last days. To imagine how he would feel, knowing I or my sister were voluntarily killing him is unimaginable. My dad was the most important man in my life and I miss him terribly to this day. Those sisters did something so disgusting and cruel it doesn’t seem real. To me, there’s no punishment strong enough for them. Hurting the old and feeble is a special kind of evil, but when it’s your own father it’s next level..

I'm currently a assistant sales manager, with a eight month old and one and a half old. I'm currently caring for my mother who has dimentia, and cerebral ischemia on the severe side. I cook, clean, pay bills and give her support doing self care and hygiene. imma be honest, I'm f****** tired. all the time. but I would never consider the thought of taking her life. I found that being tired and giving away as much free time I have keeps me in recovery-almost three years, and helps me feel useful.

They meant the hospice uses drugs to euthanize people who are already dying from terminal illness or are in the last stages of pain. What they meant was he was suffering from the drugs they gave him and decided it would be humane to kill him by suffocating him to death. As if that was a painless way to go. The poor guy would of been terrified and confused by the drugs. He would of been gasping and fighting to breathe. They didn’t want to mercy kill him, they just wanted him to die so they have to take care of him anymore.

One problem I have with this story is that the sisters supposedly killed their father because he had cancer and suffered from dementia but refused to enter any sort of care facility. The thing is, they would not have needed to kill him for this. If he had dementia, they could have placed him into a facility on an involuntary basis...he would not have needed to agree. I think they came closer to telling the truth when they said that one of them was facing bankruptcy and if their father died, they could sell his property and pocket a hundred thousand dollars or so. Despicable. My husband had Alzheimer's and I considered many ways to help him and sadly, as his disease worsened, I was unable to care for him at home by myself and I had to put him into a long-term care facility, but the one option I did not consider was killing him. Linda must not have been real bright to think she could tell her sometimes boyfriend that she had murdered her father and not realize that he would go straight to the police with that knowledge. If she had been smart enough to keep her mouth shut, they would have gotten away with murder but as Lt. Joe Kenda (the Homicide Hunter on TV) said, "Most criminals are pretty stupid and we're glad they are because if they were smarter we wouldn't be able to catch as many of them." Amen, Lt. Kenda!

I'm terminal and just put my mom in long term care. I've taken her in 16yrs ago. My illness has progress and I need care. I didn't want her to find me dead. As she can move about better than me. I never once thought of hurting her. When my husband was suffering for a year we talked about doing ourselves together. We decided not to because we didn't want to hurt our family. He died in the hospital still trying to live. As for me, I'm still fighting because I can still enjoy life, even being stuck in bed most of the time. I don't plan to suffer when this no cure for my rare disease. I'm sorry for your loss. My husband was my best friend.

Nurse here and we do not administer a “lethal dose of morphine” we administer morphine for pain that is not managed with oral medications or for shortness of breath. And is usually only prescribed routinely if the patient is actively dying.

I’m not a perfect person, and my moral compass hasn’t always been right… but when my mom was dying very tragically… it never ever, even for a second, crossed my mind that I should “help her” die… I loved her and I did not want her out of my life… and in those moments of watching her suffer to the end… I KNEW… all I could do was hold her hand and be with her until the very bitter end…. That was all I had left to give her… my heart, my company, my support and my time… I cannot rationalize for even a moment -- taking her life….

I heard about this story recently and watched the full interrogation videos and Linda’s talk with Anthony. I wonder what compelled her to tell Anthony. I bet she’s kicking herself that she didn’t just keep her mouth shut! How crazy it must have been to be called in for questioning and never again see the light of day. The sisters were eventually placed in an interrogation room alone together, and even though they knew they were being recorded, they had it out over Linda telling Anthony and what are they supposed to do now. I’m guessing that was the last time they ever spoke in person. Crazy stuff.

My 96 year old neighbor still drives, still does her own shopping, literally uses tiktok and whatsapp! Sure, there's some things she's physically capable of doing, but that woman's marbles are all there, she's better at remembering than I am at 35. Age is not the ONLY factor when it comes to quality of life, I've seen much younger with dementia and other issues. Both of my grandparents lived in their home, my grandfather able to pass away in the home he built, and my grandmother able to until the last few days. I could never imagine treating my parents, grandparents or any person with such indignity.

No symptoms, then my other elders fell one after the other all under weird circumstances. It's a racket done to way too many loved ones, and they get away with it. It's become an industry for certain lawyers.

Sadly the rules set up to protect seniors also punish other seniors. We dont allow legal euthanasia in the Uk and USA due to fears of abuse and manipulation. Sadly it means many of us will die without dignity, no ability to control when we go, no option to say goodbye to friends and family.

My grandmother is in a home. It took a long time to finally make the decision, and ultimately it was the best thing for her. NOT doing it would have been selfish of us. Turns out…it would have benefit her for her to live there a couple years sooner. Their memory care center could have tried some things that could have helped keep some cognitive abilities. All situations are different…however we’re not doctors. People usually don’t want their family in a home because they want to visit them at a place that’s more comfortable for the healthy one.

There was a moment that I saw them struggling so much in their old age and with dementia that I did pray that the Lord take them in peace than have them suffer so much but we never hurt them nor did anything to expedite the process because we also love them so much to still want them to be with us.

My mother works in Hospice specifically. The amount of morphine given is with the intention of relieving discomfort, and it can also lead someone to dying early. But that is the whole point they are on comfort care. They are ready to go and want to be comfortable and not be struggling as they die. The excuse she uses that it is the same is absolutely appalling and disgusting.

This is so incredible sad... it brings to mind my boyfriends' grandfather. (Our daughters great grandfather) He is the same age as Mr. Tomascelli was... he was COPD ; and the beginning stages of dementia. (His wife died in 2009) and he lives alone in a condo... he still has his drivers lisense. Is still very much all there (he forgets little stuff like he will go to the grocery store and if he doesnt have a list forgets what he went there for..) which I lovingly tell him that that kindof stuff happens to all of us even without dementia... Hes a great man , and I couldnt ever imagine someone deciding to do that to him.. infact he also said he doesnt want to go to an assisted living facility either (for the same reasons as Mr tomascelli and i told him that would NEVER*** happen to him ; because if it EVER*** got to the point where he NEEDED to go to a place like that.. that we would be the FIRST ones to step up and have him here with us at our house. My daughter is autistic and absolutly loves her great grandfather. And over the 8 years my partner and I have been together he very much has become like family to me. He was there for me when my mom died ; and every few months I go with him and I make a new flower arrangement for his wife's plot in the mausoleum (a woman whom I've never met personally) but she was important to him - and he is important to me. There isnt a thing I wouldnt do for him. I love him like my own family.... I cant imagine someone could do this to their own dad. Its honestly disgusting... RIP Mr Tomascelli ; if you cant trust your family - who can you trust?

Every time a person / relative of mine is placed in a nursing home shortly after there spouse dies it infuriates me . I’ve seen this time after time in my own family . The elderly uncles or aunts seem fine when I speak with them then next thing you know they are off to the nursing home and the there children are selling off everything to get there greedy hands on stuff It’s more common than you think. All I can say is that these people have children and what goes around comes around .

If their pop was that close to death then he would have qualified for immediate home hospice care and even perhaps 24/7 care or at the very least daily visits from a home healthcare aide and nurse. The one sister was an aide with a hospice company, why didn't she get the company she worked for involved? She said on tape while working she had given large doses of morphine which brought about death. Why didn't she get him evaluated for hospice? Advanced dementia is a sure approval but throw in his other dx's and age and he'd be in like Flinn.

I am a home health aide. Its 30,000 a month for 24 hour care. Ins. Does not cover. He would qualify for hospice but not care.

Seriously they could have just waited the weeks until he was in palliative care and they wouldn't be in this situation. So dumb! And sad. Having lost my dad on February 13th of this year while in palliative care it wasn't easy at all! 😔

I understand the concerns about not wanting to see him suffer (if they tell the truth about that, which I doubt) but there are so many other options to make the rest of his life more livable than deciding to just straight up kill him. Seeing a family member suffer is horrific but the acts of those sisters were not grounded in reason and just straight up disgusting Edit: I mean telling the truth about their concerns, not about his actual condition

How can someone suffocate their own parent? I can’t even imagine hurting my parents or family in any way. Why didn’t they find a care home for him? You don’t murder someone you love.

I took the are of my mom for 10 ten years, cook all meals, shots, pills, Doctor and hospital visits. Mom was blind and I did everything for her. Some days she did not know me, she was also a diabetic…. Plus other things. This ten years of my life I did all for her. She took care of me for more years and did the same for me. She deserved it and it is the best thing I have ever done. I gave her the funeral she wanted and how she wanted it. I miss her every day, I adored my parents and loved them with all my heart. I took care of Also. I truly believe we should do this for our parents. God bless all who read this.

I worked at a nursing home as a CNA when I was younger and my patients were in conditions that no one would want to live in, but because it's illegal to euthanize them, they just lay there and suffer. I had one lady who was really bad and her family was told the only way for her to die legally is to stop feeding her, because she was incapable of feeding herself. They had to give her fluids though. For like 10 days at my work no one feed her. It was an awful site. The family finally couldn't take it and asked us to feed her. I had nightmares over it. So I'm all for euthanizing someone as long as they're in a condition that's so unbearable that I wouldn't want to live either. I'm not saying this case is okay because I know it's not.

i agree. i took my cat to get put down when she was 17. i had to make a judgement call at the end of her life, but we can't do that for people, for some reason.

I've already told my teenage son that once I get to the point I've stopped being able to use a toilet and feed myself permanently that he will find a way to put me out of my misery. I think that there are now a couple of states that have legalized euthanasia and when I get older I will be finding some way, any way, to document that as a directive. The only reason it's not legal in some form everywhere is because the medical industry lobbyists fight it to no end, they make most of their money from our misery.

The undercover discussion at the beginning is interesting. When my mother was dying from cancer, she came under the care of our local hospice. She chose to remain in the house and they visited. We indeed were giving a lot of "pain-killer", etc. One of the workers told us a story about a man who, not being able to deal with his mother's pain, gave her a lethal dose of morphine. I knew what she was trying to tell us, but I didn't have the guts to do it. I always think back on that and it sucks.

Remember, people like this do and STILL exist, they might be your neighbors, your doctor, nurse, or family member. Both sisters were twisted and don’t overly trust someone if they get too close and your name is on their life insurance policy

They probably believed it was, or was at least a less painful way than, say, slitting the man's throat or bludgeoning him to death. You've also got to understand that they didn't want to make it obvious. Of course that in no way justifies what they did or that I'm condoning it.

My dad ( not Cpt Picard 😉) had Alzheimer's. He was in a nursing home and very unhappy. One night he was admitted into hospital for respiratory problems. Without using specific words, it was decided between the doctors and I that he would probably die that night. I sat with him, held his hand and talked about loving memories. After maybe 7 hours I told him it was OK to let go and go to god. I was really happy that he'd had a peaceful, loving death. The doctors and nurses were brilliant! This, I think, is when euthanasia is a kindness... 🧡

I recently found out my great grandmother's sister killed her on her death bed in a similar way. Everyone assumed she just passed bc she was unwell but my great aunt slipped later on to her niece that she did "what bertha would have wanted"

I actually live in this area and I can’t believe I never heard of this case. At the time it happened (when they got caught), I even lived in Palm Harbor! Damn, I could have passed them in the store somewhere…and never known they were killers.

Disgusting… I can’t imagine ever doing that to either of my parents :( I will take care of them when they are old until their last natural breath! They are 64 and 63 right now, still both in great shape and get 15,000-25,000 steps each day! And my mom works out with both strength training and cardio workout plans! Hopefully they are healthy into their 80’s and 90’s but if they aren’t I will take care of them lovingly. I love them so much!
