The Harrowing Story of Stuart Hazell -
The cold-blooded murder of a child is always particularly disturbing, but this notorious case from the UK has a horror all of its own. The disappearance of 12-year-old Tia Sharp from her grandparents South London home was suspicious right from the start. The entire country rallied together in the search for the missing school girl. But it wouldn’t be until the odour of a decomposing body had permeated the entire crime scene that police would finally clock on: Tia’s body was just several feet away, where it had been the entire time. Just like her killer.

The reason Stuart Hazell lived with Tia's mother, and then lived with Tia's grandmother, is because he was sexually interested in the child, Tia, and got easy access to her because of the blind stupidity of Tia's mother and grandmother. Why would anyone in their right mind allow a violent ex-prisoner with a drug and alcohol problem within a mile of their child? Sadly, parents really need to start doing better.. I've given up the dating life while my kids are growing up, and I've got no regrets. Especially with all the sad cases we hear about daily.. This man wasn't fit to be around adults, let alone children, based on his record as it stood.. long before this tragedy happened.. I'm not blaming anyone here, just saying we need to make decisions based around our children and what's best for THEM, not us. If someone has a criminal record, they aren't going to be around my children, period. I realize not every monster carries this record with them, some have flown under the radar, and done horrible things. But to bring a known criminal, with a terrible track record, around your kids, move them in, leave them unattended with your children, etc.. well, that's just begging for trouble, and we have to be the advocates for our children because nobody else will. They simply cannot protect themselves from evil.
