I'm confident the queen's pistachio pineapple dessert is completely amazing. I'd love to try it! But we common folk can enjoy a dessert that might be similar and is one of my (American) favorites. Combine 3.4 oz pistachio Jell-O instant pudding mix ,20 oz can crushed pineapple,1 cup miniature marshmallows, 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional - I don't use these) , mix together, cover and store in fridge overnight (allows the marshmallows to soak up pineapple juice and jello powder to dissolve) then fold in 8 oz container of Cool Whip. I bet you could add diced pears and chopped pistachios to the first step to get a more "royal" flavor! Called Pistachio fluff, Pineapple Pistachio Salad or Watergate Salad. Enjoy!
sounds an awful lot like 'ambrosia'....we use miniature marshmallows, pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges 🍊, sour cream, plain Greek yogurt & cherries 🍒 on top! Often referred to as Hawaiian salad. .a light, delicious summer dish....oh, almost forgot, coconut flakes
Being from Malta myself, I couldn't be more proud to see Malta making its way into the Royal kitchen's recipe books. The recipes in this video are great however I find the title a little bit misleading since only the quail dish was served in Malta to Her Majesty. The cake, which I presume is the dessert is not Maltese at all. Although Malta might seem exotic for some, pineapples are not Maltese at all. That being said, I am still very happy knowing that Malta is one of the Queen's favourite countries which She holds dear to her heart.
Love every second of this stuff~ eating it up. Can’t get enough thank you. Perfectly done. I would love specific recipes posted in the description tho...
Great show to inform and delight! Michael Buerke and Paul Ainsworth are so entertaining and funny during the fantastic production of BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS dishes. Art, class and enjoyment! Paul talks to food and food reciprocates and displays their beauty!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
When you see someone SCRAPE the finely honed blade of a gorgeous knife across a cutting surface, I almost want to cry *What a great way to destroy a blade edge* TURN IT OVER & USE THE SPINE-BACK of the blade, people.
We Maltese love Her Majesty the Queen, and we're proud that Malta is her favourite Commonwealth country. With good reason. She and Prince Philip honeymooned in Malta and they spent the first two years of their married life on the island. The queen has since returned to visit several times and we love her visits. Having said all that, I'm very sorry for those poor quails that get shot and are now sitting in your oven representing our country. :(
@@FIREBRAND38 LMAO!! Besides, the Queen is no longer a Queen & she never should've been. They usurped power, stole it after WWI! They are Nazi's, literally. But now They've been dethroned, fled Buckingham Palace & are hiding elsewhere. They stole the Windsor name! Trump 🇺🇲 is making it right, they no longer steal our money or any other countries money! They are FINISHED, the fake pope too. All on house arrest until they face their permanent transition. The world is almost free! 2021 marks the 1st year of the New World, a free world, not slave's working to enrich those turds!! President Trump will win reelection and all Globalists have already started meeting their doom & demise. God Bless OUR GREAT President, Donald Trump!
@@comet1227 It's already done! The fight was over before it ever began. What everyone is seeing is just a show so that millions don't have to die. There will always be collateral damage.
*+comet1227* If you want to see more of this kitchen, there's a channel called *English Heritage* here on youtube that showcases the acting chops of one, *Kathy Hipperson* . She performs the role of Audley End's cook, Mrs Crocombe, who is equally sharp of wit as of tongue and well worth watching cook.
@@SueMead thank you! I will certainly check it out. Now if I could find a show that has cooking resembling what Hannibal does on that show, minus the human element 🤢but the artistry and flair..
@@comet1227 I hear that. I loved that show, and apart from the serial killing, Hannibal was pretty much the perfect man. He dressed impeccably, had exceptional interior design skills, could cook like a Michelin star chef, could sniff out serious illnesses and name the type of perfume a woman was wearing, could write symphonic music and I'm sure there must be something I'm missing. (sigh) If only he didn't kill and cook people.
It's not so much as she hates it, but rather--when eaten--garlic can make one's smell becomes offensive to others. She doesn't want to leave a negative impression of her country or her family on others. Garlic can also make some people gassy, though I am not sure that this is the case for her.
It appeared the garlic was left whole with the paper on it perhaps. That gives off the faintest essence of it without blowing one's socks off. Those potatoes looked so good I could taste it off the screen.I loved all of it except those poor teeny quails. Just a bite but the English love their game birds. The more you do to garlic, ie smash, squash, grate the more the essential odors escape and it literally comes out through one s pores. I'm quite sure, if she shared a bite of the dish the garlic wouldn't smell bad. Just a wisp of je ne sais quoi. May if she had to greet her public she stand back a bit farther or have a hanky handy.
Is there a way to get the recipes that go along with this series? I would buy the cookbook. - especially if the recipes were linked to the episodes in which they appear. I would love to try to make some of these wonderful, historical recipes.
I guess one could check on the net. G.R.IV.'s chef was Antonin Carême, "king of chefs, chef of kings". One of his apprentice, Jules Gouffé, edited the first modern cook book. Last but not least : Auguste Escoffier. The référence in French cuisine... Voilà.
He’s got it right with the quail. So beautiful. Very very delicious. Beautiful yacht/floating palace. I don’t blame the former Mother, cooking can be relaxing if your not under pressure. The Queen is right, salted caramel with chocolate. I am a true chocoholic. Chocolate is a treat. Everything is labor intensive in 1700’s. Especially cultivating land.
Those potatoes and the chocolate Marquise. Would love to have the exact recipes for those! I've roasted a lot of taters, but those look amazing! I do love these videos, but many times I'm just grossed out by Michael taking bigger bites than can possibly fit in his mouth and him trying to cram it all in and then talk. Maybe it's just me.
Watch Chef jean-pierre as well. It is in English language but the chef is a French professional chef. Very good recipes and the chef is just hilarious to watch.
Interestng watching this beautiful dishes just one point that stood out and that there was garloc added to a sauce .and they mentioned that the queen loved this dish.. but i thought the queen never ate garlic?
I wish they gave quantities for the recipes because these really are quite approachable and I would like to cook them. But I am going to have to guess based on the volumes I can see
That Quail looked Heavenly! We visited for a week in Ely and had a delightful dish this reminded me of, it was a roast pigeon. It had a similar sauce with wine, truffles and shallots, I think I'm going to go buy some little Cornish hens and recreate this. This Duck recipe sounds delightful, I make an apricot glaze for duck that is heavenly.
@NEGUS MBARKA you are just showing everyone how dense you are. By posting such comment everyone will immediately know what a thick and obtuse person you are.
🩶🩵Hi Real Royalty 👋 Hey , that dessert looks like The Watergate Salad ' My in-laws would make occasionally . I just looked It up . Initially named Pineapple Pistachio Delight " by Jello General Mills Co . A Newspaper changed the name in 1975 to Watergate Salad : Pineapple ( I dont eat anymore 😊 ) , Marshmallows , Pistachio Jello mix , Pistachios and Cool Whip . An American Classic , from the South they were from. I want to veganize Your version, without the Pineapple. I was able to mimic the Pineapple flavor in a Sherbert with Orange , Peach and Lemon . Inspired to try that Brussel Salad and Peach ... , V too . Thank Yous 🩶💖
I want to live on Malta with the chef of the queen for one year. I would also do the meeting and greeting so the rf would have not to travel to Malta back and forth. With all the servants and clothing and makeover I am sure I will pass as a royal without anyone else noticing.
it's a great idea. No wonder her Majesty has reached the age she is as well as Prince Philip. The obviously use the best ingredients, best vegetables their are in the world. This I think is the answer to their longevity. I should be cooking like this, therefore need this cookbook!@@JennaLeigh
@@adelezierler1547 wow- that did not occur to me, but you are absolutely right! She has been a steadfast, headstrong, and courageous queen for what, around 70 years now? I will HAPPILY take health advice and healthy meal recipes from Her Majesty!!🤗
I am an american, but I truly believe the british were ahead of their time with cooking and food recipes. I am saying this after having ate a can of spaghetti-o's and a microwave burrito, so my words don't really carry any weight.
Well, the British food is okay when you go to Indian or Thailand restaurants in the UK most of the time. Fish and chips is fine as well, just ask around where to go for it. Some pubs serve good food as well. American food is best home cooked, I guess. I prefer the Mexican taquerias when I am in USA. The other choice is steak in USA but it costs a fortune to go to any steakhouse. Eating Italian is a very good choice in any country, but only when the place is run by an Italian family.
For those who'd like to cook some of those beautiful dishes or learn about our gastronomie, have a look on the net... Antonin Carême was the chef of G R IV. His apprentice Jules Gouffé edited the first modern cook book. Augustin Escoffier is venerated by many chefs, nowadays. Thanks to Wikipedia and Google, by the way...
