The story of the staff is one of the funniest things for me about JTTW. Wukong goes to the dragon in the east in search of the finest weapon ever made. Dragon shows many weapons to wukong. Want this sword? No. Want this mace? No. Want this spear? No. Then wukong finds the perfect weapon. "How about this one?" he asks. "That's a support beam." the dragon responds in a confused tone. So Wukong just rips the support pillar out of the ground and walks out with it
That "support beam" you mention actually is a 定海神针 can be translated as a pillar that stabilinzing the sea. When Wukong grab the pillar it creates chaos in the sea.
In fact none of the weapons presented to him was heavy enough for him, they are all light as children’s toy. So he went and picked up the giant Staff lol
In the novel.. The staff is actually a pillar supporting the deep sea palace belonging to the deity sea dragon.. Monkey went down the sea and wreck havoc to the palace and took the pillar and claim it as his weapon.. The staff is actually a big pillar.. Just that monkey used his magic to shrink it for his usage
@@soothingmoments2139It’s not. It was used by great yu to measure depth of the ocean to fight against the great flood. Ao Guang doesnt know what it is so he just put it there
The staff in the original story of the journey to the west is similar to the original thors hammer in which it’s not whether you’re worthy or not but instead it’s just a very very very heavy weapon (in case anyones wondering the 如意金箍棒 weighs just about 17550lbs or for my brits out there about 7960kg)
And regardless of size. It's weight is always constant. And Wukong keeps a staff the size of a rice grain that weighs several thousand tons tucked right behind his ear. And swings it around like it's nothing.
The way Bajie talks about Wukong, you can tell they really became friends despite their annoyance with each other. I wish we could have gotten a scene after Wukong emerges from his egg with all his memories and soul intact, to see their interaction with each other.
The “staff” has a name. It is called Ruyi Jingu Bang. In search for a suitable weapon to wield, the Monkey King Sun Wukong ventures into the underwater kingdom of Ao Guang, Dragon King of the Eastern Seas. Sun Wukong asked Ao Guang if he can have a weapon that matches his power and might. The Dragon king replied to his request and offered him a variety of magical weapons. Swords, spears, halberts and others. Yet none appeal the impulsive monkey. Then the dragon queen suggests to her husband that they give Sun a useless iron pillar taking up space in their treasury. He claims that the ancient shaft had started producing heavenly light days prior and suggests that the monkey is fated to own it. The novel never explains how the pillar was made, only that it was originally used by Yu the Great to measure the depths of the world flood during times immemorial.
Staff story in short -go to a dragon king Kingdom to get a weapon -act picky -take their property which is stabilizeing thier Kingdom -bullies them -refuse to elaborate any further -leave like nothing happened That's very wukong thing😂😂😂😂
@@vibugamer5538 You forgot he is also very gluttonous, which cause a lot of interpretation about him to have a big belly I was surprised Bajie look thinner here XD
this vision of the story is not the Chinese vision journey to the west anymore, but still awesome and really cool, this stick in WuKong's hand is the treasure of the Sea, it can be changed to a small nail even can be putted into his ears, and it can be so huge to broke out the sky. This scenes here shows how the Money King meet his weapon or you can say this is how the fighter find out his AK-47 on his way to success. 🤪
Remember, in past gameplays a wukong appears after defeating the wolf boss (sorry don't have the game so can't name every character), did they abandon that story? Or what was it if anyone can explain?
Ru Yi Jin Gu Bang. But in archaic chinese. meaning "The Compliant Golden-Hooped Rod". Compliant because it can chnage its length and size as the owner wishes. It also weighs around 8000kg.
The fact that after sun wukong got arrested the gods dont know that he has a decendant snd left it for him to continue his masters journey even if wukong is in prisoned so you are not playing as wukong in this black myth game your his decendant to accomplish your master's quest! 🔥🔥
Lol if you have patience to grind the game until you can max out all of you stats and awake all function of the relics then your character literally became Wukong
Dude I’m in NG+ and the grasshopper boss is bugged no pun intended. Instead of RT is says hold square?! I went to check out the staff while wearing the full armor set I already had and the cinematic tried to start and then stopped. Somebody HALP!
Reminds me of "Journey to the West". A Chinese movie, 2014 I think. If you've never seen before, definitely check it out. It is free here on RU-vid if interested.
If you still didn’t know you need to get the full set armor of wukong by defeat the golden rhino, deer, rodeo the grasshopper and lastly mantis.after that bajie will ask you went to the water cave and voila
