The mark of true genius in drafting is not in picking the obvious studs but in the late bloomers or "projects". This takes vision and faith in the process of training and teaching. We will see this come to fruition this season and beyond. Go lions Super Bowl bound!
Here's what I picked up, Will. On the first clip, it's 2nd and 10 and Goff hits Williams on a 4-yard out halfway thru the 1st quarter of a scoreless game. If Williams gets brought down at the point of attack, it's 3rd and 5. But, he eludes two defenders with his footwork and hips. Then, drags the third defender for a 1st down. That keeps the momentum flowing for the Offense. The other thang is folks talk about how this kid has to make adjustments off-the-field, how he lacks "maturity", the whole 9. They (most Lions RU-vid content creators) have NO idea how difficult that is for a young pro athlete. They're just regurgitating "news and rumors". Let me tell you this: I grew up on Detroit's Westside. And, I can guarantee you that there are entire zip codes of young women trying to figure out where Jameson Williams hangs out. 🦁
@@DetroitDen313 I call it like I see it, Will. For example, I was watching a clip that the Lions put together on Barry Sanders Top 25 plays yesterday. I must've seen each of those runs forever. And, I was always amazed by Barry's physical ability. So, obviously, he was my focus. But, yesterday, I saw something different: I saw how much blocking Herman Moore and Johnny Morton were doing on the outside and on down the field. Never noticed it before. So, I pinged Herm about it. He replied "#teamwork". That's why I don't care who ranks who where. Or, how THIS guy got "snubbed". Or, "The Lions are getting DISRESPECTED!" It ain't that deep to me. At the end of the day, the NFL is show business and the collective media is selling stories. 🦁
Jamo is at 400 to 1 for offensive player of the year. He probably won't be, but 400 to 1 is crazy for someone with Jamo's insane speed and elusiveness. Jamo could blow the roof off if given 6 to 8 touches a game. Jamo's rushing stats including playoffs are 5-111-2.
We agree that Jamo has the potential. This year, he has set out to be great. We'll know at the end of the year. As for PFF or any other source, sometimes they will have a minimum amount of touches to qualify under their rankings. That might be the case here. This year is our year. We are going to shed tears of joy in February.
I think in due time Jamo aka black lightning is going to clean up what Calvin Johnson should have done and become the 1st 2,000yd receiver injuries notwithstanding . Even so much love and respect to Megatron getting his flowers 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 becoming the latest Lion great to be added to the Lions Ring of Honor, that's what's up!!😁
As someone who believes in the importance of development of young talent I haven’t given up on James Huston nor Jameson Williams . If James Huston dosent get hurt maybe he’s just as impactful as Aiden Hutchinson. We don’t know . And I didn’t expect ifeatu melifonwu to do what he did the last quarter of the season last year because of how injury had derailed him up to that time . But he did .i will say I’m cautiously optimistic for next season for both players
No, Jamo is a Tyreek Hill level talent. Tyreek was used as a gadget guy/special teamer early as he learned the receiver position. Jamo is in the same boat in terms of being brought along slowly. He just missed too much practice time his 1st 2 seasons. Jamo is going to be a problem.
Last yr he just started to get his feet under himself , and he just came off his suspension. He’s starting to mature , an now he’ll have a whole preseason to prepare. Watch out, now your going to see why they were so sound in drafting him. Remember what you all said about Brad and crew picking talented individuals. This year Jami is going to show you how he starts his engine . I don’t believe any of them have even seen the Schmitt he’s about to release. Take that to the bank. . Go Jamo , Go Gibbs , Go Laporte , & Go like never before St. Brown . And DEAL with the “DETROIT NO FLY ZONE “
That's his potential, he's still got some maturing to do. I'd like to see him add some weight honestly, if he is going to be getting that many touches.
I don’t agree personally. You know the league is what have you done for me lately. It’s like Trevor Lawrence he gets ranked low but he’s got breakout year written all over him as does Jamo but we have to see it first to rank them there. This is precisely why St Brown is ranked so high now cuz he proved and shown it. If there was a list of top wrs ready to breakout he’d prob be in top 5
I don't agree. Jamo is a big play threat, but this is very much a prove it league. Until he is consistently producing and is available he won't crack that top 32 list. I love me some Jamo, and I'm pulling for him to be great. Just calling it for what it is. Wish the kid the best and hope he breaks off a ton of big plays this year! He's just got to turn his potential into reality.
@@DetroitDen313 I don't agree with the list either lol. Lists like those I believe are a blend of popularity contests and what have you done for the league. So far Jamo to the rest of the league has been a flash in the pan that has been surrounded by controversy/maturity issues. We know here in Detroit what Jamo is capable of, he's just gotta show up and ball out this year, which I whole heartedly believe he will do. Dan Campbell has even gone on record saying Jamo has put in a ton of work this off-season. I trust that man first and foremost. I agree with you guys that Jamo will ball out this year. I just disagree with saying "he's earned" a top 32 ranking. There are guys out there that were way more productive than Jamo last year that didn't make the list I'm sure.
Jamo was drafted to be the number 1, but Brown stepped up while he was having off the field issues. I truly believe the Lions have a 1A and 1B situation at wr
Idk if you’ve been at Ford Field watching but every time the ball is in his hands people are looking for a big play. That’s the comparison. I’ve been present for both. In my opinion there’s no question. If we’re talking player to player comparison come on that’s not even a thing!
