O loved both episodes, I still think that the music number at the end and the breaking of the 4th wall has more to do with the story arc than we realise.

Great review George, looking forward to your Boom one. Not sure if it was intentional by the director but it looked like the devil’s number above the piano when Paul and John played the chord together in the corridor. 3 notes shown to look like 3 6’s. Coincidence?

I liked this episode, but I don’t know how I feel about all the weird 4th wall breaks. On one hand, it’s not new for doctor who, but also, doctor who is rarely stylised to the extent. I find the whole song at the end kinda boggles my head cannon. Like, what’s actually happening? Did they actually just dance in the rain INSIDE A HALLWAY???? I don’t get it. But hey, it was fun if nothing else.

I like the idea that some of Maestro's otherworldly powers affected everything, and suddenly 40 years of music that had not existed suddenly fires back into the universe! Same reason why we hear church bells and opera singing on the streets just before, it's almost like that meta energy from Maestro being banished has pushed us toward a music number, in universe 😂 - but I'm not sure either

Overall personally I think the devil's chord was a good episode about from the twist sequence at the end. To me that felt a little forced and unnecessary and completely killed it for me if it wasn't for that this episode might have got a 10 out of 10 for me.

I absolutely adore this episode, the story, the concepts, the villain, the 60’s style, the MUSIC 🤩 an episode filled to the brim with unique and special moments. ❤ instant classic ❤ 10/10

The cuts are annoying. It feels to me that perhaps Devils Chord wasnt originally designed to be episode 2.

Just rewatched Devils Chord earlier, and its a bit irritating we don't actually hear Ncuti sing its always the twist at the end. Wished that John & Paul were more heavily a part of the plot but still fun. 8/10
