Because faith without works goes against the pride of our human nature. We has human because of pride naturally is repulsed by the idea that someone has done some thing and it had nothing to do with us. Particularly something has significant has our eternal salvation we want some credit somewhere in the mix we must have something to brag and boast about so that we can start looking down on each other or comparing our selves to each. But the simple gospel goes against this.

Amen dude, you hit the nail on the head. We don't preach believe that Jesus existed and you'll be saved. The gospel that saves is specific (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), and it's what Jesus did for us. That's what we trust in. Sadly, I think many "Christians" do not trust in what He did.

From what I’ve learned is there are two kinds of faith/belief. There’s Ascentia meaning that there is a general belief and acknowledgement of something’s existence- the belief that the demons have in God. It’s not a trusting faith. And then there’s Fiducia, the fully trusting faith that we believers have in God.
Be on guard. The fact is, he tried to negate all the rest of what is spoken in those passages in James. What James was talking about there with the giving of clothes and food and the not giving of clothes and food, is exactly what Jesus talked about in the parable of the sheep and the goats. In the parable of the sheep and the goats the clear distinction of who was saved and who wasn’t, certainly was based on what the people did or didn’t do for the least of Jesus’ brethren. Works matter, as it is written in James, “so you see, a man is not declared righteous by faith alone but also by what he does” James 2:14-17, James 2:20, works matter. Do not be deceived.

This is true. Sometimes we forget that we are not saved by our belief/faith - we are saved by Grace - that grace is NOT available to devils so even if devils truly believe the word of God (as I suspect they do since the enemy tried so hard but failed to stop Jesus) the proper understanding is that we are not saved by our belief but by grace so even if the devils has the correct belief they can never be saved because there is no grace available for devils. So many times I’ve seen lordships make that slip up of saved by faith this is why I’m sure they struggle with this one. Thanks for clarifying
Faith without works is dead is a true saying, but not how James speaks to the Church who he is not talking to. By the Work of the cross and the righteousness of faith we are FREELY justified by Gods' grace...... Mic drop
Amen and AMEN! I have seen this misused so many times and it I don't understand why people OMIT the first part of the verse that actually explains it? They often just quote "the devils also believe and tremble" but omit "Thou believest that there is one God" thereby taking it out of context and twisting the meaning. But then they always do that. And if you give them clear verses, they just ignore them and give you other unclear or taken out of context verses. It's frustrating. Like they are grasping at straws.
2:19, to me, is James telling the people to "stop just talking the talk and start walking the walk", read as: "oh you believe in God, do you? *with sarcasm* Great... the devil believes in him too. So what? Take that faith and do something productive with it." When I was a kid, the priest at my church told us the rhyme, "Mr. Business went to church every single Sunday; Mr. Business went to hell for what he did on Monday." You can talk about your faith all you want, but if you act like an asshole the whole time you're no better than the devils who also believe in the existence of God and spend their entire lives working to undo him.
Isn't it odd that they want to use this passage to say that you haven't "truly believed" with "genuine faith" unless you have works, but they also are sure to emphasize that the devils, who have NO good works, really DO believe here? The parable of wedding feast by the LORD require guests to have garments, or he will be thrown out. The Parable of the Ten Virgins by the LORD, require them to be wise, and the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. Or the doors will be shut down. Well I guess I should qualify that statement because I guess it's not obvious to people like my pastor, that have to talk to him about soon him and the associate pastor. He used this verse to say that it was not enough to believe and he was using believe as mental assent. If he wants to go that way from the English standpoint I guess but not really but the Greek is very clear that believe means to be persuaded of or trust. You get right with God when you are born again, by trusting in Jesus for your salvation by what He did on the cross, burial, and resurrection. You are then forever right with God, sealed until the day of redemption.

1 John 5:13 "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life." The other important word other than know, is believe (Greek word pisteuo) and many do not know the true Biblical meaning of believe which has three layers 1) Believe with the mind (this is also what the demons do in James chapter 2) 2) Trust with your heart (this the demons do not do) 3) Commit with your life (this they also have not done) In the last 3 verses on John chapter 2 it says many believed in Jesus but that Jesus did not commit himself to them because he knew what was in man. Both the words believe and commit in these verses are the same Greek word pisteuo. So the belief that brings salvation is not just an intellectual one as the demons, it's a heart change which changes the direction of your life to be a committed follower of Christ. It's not a work, or the thief on the cross would not be where he is today. He had a change of head and of heart.

your question, is faith alone enough is a moot point due to the fact that demons and satan and the like cannot be redeemed by the blood of Christ because they are not included in the verse in Romans that says, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The context there pertains to humans. Devils or demons are not human and therefore what they believe is irrelevant. Their doom is already determined and cannot be changed. A lost person who believes what is stated in John 3:16 is promised everlasting life by believing that God sent Jesus His son and believing in Him.

People who respond to the true gospel by sating, "the devils believe" are devils themselves (self-righteous ones). Most people read the verse wrong anyway. James is quoting what "a man may say."
Jesus created MAN in His image, became a MAN and died for MAN so only MAN can be redeemed. Jesus did not die for angels or demons nor did he create them in his image. We are special.
What about the verse faith without works is dead brother ? If one lives in/ struggles with sin but has faith in Jesus is that alone enough to save them ?
The faith described that is the gift is Romans 10:8-9 Technically speaking God giving you his son the Lord Jesus Christ as the atonement for sins is the gift to believe on... So, in a way, God gave us the gift of faith to believe on (Jesus Christ). But to say I have been given the gift of faith (to obey the law) or say that a person does not have free will, that is false. Mark 16:16 Jesus states you must be baptized. It's not to show any faith to people because of Acts 2:38, it's to receive the Holy Spirit so your prayers are heard. Believing might save you only if you're also baptized as it says you must do.

Also you forgot to mention in the very first chapter of james he clearly states that he is writing to the 12 tribes scattered abroad (israelites under the law) and not to the gentile nations.

Repent means to change your mind. In koine greek "metanoia". It means to change your mind from unbelief to belief in the Gospel. Nowhere does it say to repent of your sins to be saved. And repent does not equal to repent of sinsn, since God repents multiple times in the OT. Personally I like Jonah 3:10 where we see that turning from sins is works and we also see God repenting. Acts 16:30-31 Romans 4:5 Ephesians 2:8-9 Pray about it. If you get salvation wrong, you end up twisting the rest of the scriptures.

I do not understand the argument about the demons believing and that proving ANYTHING one way or the other about salvation. Maybe I am just naive but my understanding is Jesus HAD to be a kinsman Redeemer. He did not become that for the demons. It did not matter how much they believe or don't believe Jesus wasn't born of one of them and so was not a kinsman redeemer to them. For Jesus to be our savior He had to be born and take on HUMAN body live a PERFECT SINLESS life, die and rise again. He did that for MAN not the demons. - Apples and oranges. While I do learn a lot from watching your videos, I am having a bit of a problem with your interpretation of James 2:19, where you claim the demons believe there is only God alone. I see why you say that, regarding this verse, however, when you read Matthew 8:29, it becomes quite evident the demons believing in one God interpretation of James 2:19 is a misrepresentation. Matthew 8:29 reads "and suddenly they cried out, saying, what have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?" Help me out here. Am I misunderstanding?

James did not even speak verse 19. An imaginary man that James creates said it. James calls the man VAIN (self righteous) for saying it. I will replace "man" with my name for clarity. Yea, PRESTON may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O VAIN PRESTON, that faith without works is dead? One should of course try and become more Christ-like, avoid sin and do good, but that's not what saves or keeps you saved. You could disregard all of them and be saved, but this is not what I'm advocating, you will be chastised. Our works have zero effect on salvation.

I disagree. We need to take a step back and look at the issue practically rather than trying to pick apart the words in scripture. Faith, or rather TRUE faith results in actions. Saint Paul walked thousands of miles to do the work of evangelism. Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations. We can’t do that sitting at home feeling like we’ve been saved with faith alone. If we’re truly faithful, we will do the work of learning, teaching, evangelism

Jesus was buried for three days. Jesus was resurrected bodily by God. Check out Romans 8:31-39 you are God's creation.
You must think you're clever cherry picking verses but please explain why paul had to be baptized as an appeal to god for the washing of sins.. Ask yourself these 2 questions: 1. Do you think most of the world believes that faith alone saves? Or do you think most of the world believes they have to do something (usually be a good person) to be saved? 2. Do you think most Christians (or self-proclaimed Christians), believe that faith alone saves? Or do you believe most add some sort of works to it? Not even considering the other 2 big religions, Judasim and Islam, both of those add works to be saved, lets just look at the denominations of Christianity: Calvinists - Believe they were already chosen to be saved, and that as proof must show works (fruit inspectors), and claim faith is a work - WORKS BASED SALVATION Pentecostals - Believe one has to speak in tongue to be saved - WORKS BASED SALVATION Lordshippers - Believe one has to make Jesus their Lord, and live and follow Christ and do as he did - WORKS BASED SALVATION Legalists - Believe one has to follow the law to be saved - WORKS BASED SALVATION Christian Science - Believe one has to endure to be saved (or so I'm told) - WORKS BASED SALVATION Mormons - Outright deny the gospel in 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4, add their own Book, and say one must endure - WORKS BASED SALVATION Jehova Witnesses - Believe they are part of the 144,000 and promote much of what legalists promote - WORKS BASED SALVATION 7th Day adventists - Believe one has to keep the sabbath (Saturday), not worship Sunday, and endure and reject the Mark of the Beast - WORKS BASED SALVATION Calvinism covers many different denominations, as does Lordshippers and Legalists, all promote a Works based salvation. So are you starting to get the picture of what the narrow way is? Anyone who thinks it's works that get them into Heaven is following the wide path that everyone else is following. Very few put their 100% trust in Jesus. What's ironic about all those denominations above, none of them agree on 'what' or the type of 'works' that lead to salvation. So if you want to believe or assume there are some sort of works involved in salvation, then tell me, which denomination above is right, and why? Do you also know what 'Repentance' means? Remember, God repented twice. It means to change one's mind, it's a one time event. You will also find nowhere in the Bible "Repent of sins"

This is also what dispensations are, and dispensations are doctrine, the very word is mentioned 4 times in scripture: Ephesians 1:10 Ephesians 3:2 Colossians 1:25 1 Corinthians 9:17 Scripture cannot contradict itself, and 1 Corinthians 14:33 tells us that God is not the author of confusion. So you need to take what scripture you want to believe and compare it with scripture you don't want to believe, and first look at 1 thing: Which scripture is directly addressing salvation, vs the scripture that tries to "interpret" it? For example, Ephesians 2: 8-10, and James 2:17. For by grace are we saved through faith, not of ourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any many should boast. Then created in good workman ship. Then James 2:17, faith without works is dead. So where exactly in James 2:17 or anywhere in James do you see the word gospel or salvation? Where do you see anywhere in James 2 talking about salvation?? It doesn't mention it, so you have to do something with the passage. You have to do something with Ephesians 2: 8-10, and James 2:17. They appear to contradict, so divide them. Dividing doesn't mean ignoring one because you don't like it, and trying to allegorize or interpret your way out of it.
