To a casual gamer like myself the 2 don't look all that different. So to me it's *insanely similar* considering we are talking about old gen and a game the scale of HL. Applause to Avalanche for a great port!

The annoying thing is the Xbox One S and X support 4K, but the port seems to be limited to the original Xbox One’s resolution.

The Series S is holding back games as all Series games have to be able to run on the lower specced S. I mean, just look at the problems they are having with Baldur's Gate 3. It runs perfectly on the X but because of it having to run on the S aswell they can't release it.

Maybe its just me.... But doesnt it look ALMOST identical? I know it has SOME differences, but... For the price series X costs, shiiit, ill stick with my xbox one... Atleast for this game... Theres really not a HUGE difference, just bits and pieces of graphics.

Yeah, overall not THAT much different. The loading time and frame rate is the biggest difference

They look almost identical. The X adds very little to the experience.

The biggest difference is in the performance, but overall Xbox one version runs great if you like 30 fps

'Insane' seems like a nonsensical adjective in this context - does it mean there is a noticeable difference? If so, ironically, the difference to me on a 55" 4K OLED is barely apparent: I'll go for the XONE version and avoid cluttering up my Series X's internal drive.

Ok am I the only one who find it runs poorly on X box serie S ?! I played it on PS5 and it looked incredible however for personal reason I no longer have a PS5 so I purchased it for X box serie S and compared to the PS5 version I feel it looks more last Gen. Clothing texture is often blurry and it often have a glitch with grass texture showing off as a purple blue that make me have to restart the console to fix. I never had such issue on the PS5 and honestly it looked SO much better on the PS5 in general. It feels like a downgrade. I double checked and my version of the game is indeed the Serie S/X one so I have no idea why it looks so mediocre and buggy…

The worst thing about the Xbox one version is all the loading. If Xbox X doesn't have that as bad, that may be reason enough to get it on there. I saw a video where a player walked out of the Great Hall into the Gardens seamlessly, I get a loading screen there. (But they were on PC so if Xbox X has that same loading screen there, then it's a moot point.) It can also be really annoying standing there waiting for a door to open as well, even without a loading screen. It kills the flow, and hurts the immersion.

Yeah, I mean they could’ve made us open the doors slowly, and that would be the loading animation instead of just circling circles

Definitely is the most annoying part of the legacy ports (puns intended!). Loading screens between Floo Flames too, take aaaaaages…

Nah you good. The difference isn’t that big actually. For me the frame rate is the only thing.. just more used to 60 fps now

Okay alot of people don't see it and I'm a huge sucker for detailed textures but the textures are definitely bad in Xbox one, it almost looks like older Harry potter games and overall visually it's blurry, I'm sure there are way less NPCs around the world too and already noticed there's no long shadows

Yeah same, I was appalled at how stiff and blurry my Xbox version was compared to my PC crisp version! I had just played AC Odyssey which has beautiful graphics so this was extremely disappointing

I’m Playing it now on Xbox one x and we got it running on a Xbox series x in other room. The Xbox one version is very typical tired graphics , in some places like walls it resembles almost the Xbox 360 look whereas the series x is crisp and superior; it plays fine on Xbox one x accepting things like tiny tears in wall textures such as the wood panelling inside Hogwarts etc . I’m not picking but series x is way forward .
