There are many types of additional insured endorsements. Some of the most common ones are for landlords, vendors and governments and municipalities. Equipment leasing companies also ask for additions insured endorsements when you lease equipment from them. Banks or mortgage holders sometimes also want to be listed as additionally insured, especially during construction projects. Probably the most commonly requested one is for owners and contractors. All of these relationships are different, all of these endorsements are specific. Because additional insured endorsements are specific to the relationship of the insured and the individual who is asking for that. So we have to make sure that the right additional insured endorsement is being placed on the policy to make sure that the coverage you want is there at the time of loss.
