Love this Nathan, great channel you have started and it is growing, just keep on putting it out there. The only negative I can add is the lack of fret markers makes it slightly more difficult to follow the movement but maybe that’s just me. Great production.
Hello! Thanks for your comment! Yes, I’ve gotten that comment before and can only just say sorry but at the moment I can’t do anything. This is my only guitar and I don’t really want to ruin fret board with stickers. Possible if I can digitally add them somehow? For now the TAB and notation will have to do suppose. I’ll keep thinking about a solution that doesn’t involve me purchasing another guitar haha 😂
Great stuff! I would like to see some more stuff about comping. It would be really cool if you had a discord or a community chat for all of your Patreon members so we could discuss the material you a presenting.
Hi Andy! Thanks for your comment, that’s a wonderful idea. I’ll look into that and keep you all posted! I was thinking about doing a Jim Hall comping video in the upcoming future!
Hey thanks for your comment! At the moment I have some more free time so I could definitely fit in a zoom lesson. Send me an email through my website and we can set up something, thanks! nathanborton.com
Thank you! For a diminished chord, you would think about the shape A/Db now, instead of A/C. So everything in this lesson could be played over Db diminished instead C13b9. I talk about this right at the end of the video as well
Hi! Just wondering where in the video I talked about the altered scale? I just don’t remember… I know most of this lesson focuses on the diminished sound over dominant chords, which is a different sound than altered. I’ve done an altered scale lesson a while ago as well as a melodic minor lesson (which is also the altered scale). Here is link for melodic minor lesson: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Cy36vk2yxys.html Here is altered lesson but it’s pretty old. The content is good but production and delivery might be lacking… haha: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F0lnx9P341A.html
