After a two week break for my back we are able to get some work done. With the belt as a crutch we can get keep going! A little trimming of the parts and the truck, a fine tune pull, some small adjustments and we are ready to start putting it back together. Did I mention I hate emission BS? Maybe even more than camo vent visors! Mr. Spotty (the smiley face) also makes a guest appearance. Does anybody read the description anymore?

The Worst part of watching these videos.... is when you notice there's only 12 seconds left to watch!!! Damn!!! haha No idea where you obtained your knowledge and skills to perform open heart (auto skin) surgery like you do... but You are a Pro!!! You need to have a Gig on the Discovery Channel!!! Thanks again for letting us watch your excellent work!!!

People don't have a very long attention span these days. I have to keep the videos a little shorter. I shoot for 15-20 minutes. Give or take to make sure you don't miss anything. I have been trained by ICAR and have 20+ years and 1000+ rebuilds for experience. You get pretty good at something with that much practice. lol Thanks for the support!

Another amazing vid. Your videos are 100x better to watch then everyone else's. Like everything you do, the level of detail that you give us, it's just amazing. Can't believe GM went back to that style of door hinge on the trucks. Just like the 70's and 80's truck door hinges. I much prefer the 99 to 07 generation of truck door hinges. Makes hanging doors as one person so much easier. Nice work on this truck.
@vehcor
@vehcor 5 лет назад
Me either. They had some issues with those hinges wearing out. They also were not adjustable. These are not too bad if you can close the door and still get to the hinge bolts. The bolts from the hinge to the door are self-aligning so you can remove and install the door that way and not worry about realigning. I prefer the 99-05 Grand Am style hinge over any. Full adjustments in every direction and one bolt per hinge to lift it off after it is adjusted. Thanks for watching.

I know this isn't related to the truck, but I struggled with a lot of back issues as well. You are pretty in shape and I've seen you use pre-workout containers to hold nuts in bolts it. I did competitive power lifting for a while and injured my back doing so. After a lot of trial and error, I found out my issue was with my core strength. I read a book called "Gift of Injury" by Stuart McGill and Brian Carroll (2nd best all time power lifter with a total over 2700 pounds). Stuart is a leading expert in spine bio-mechanics and works at the university of Waterloo. Do your self a favor and read this book, it changed my quality of life and have had no back issues since. Look forward to more videos in the future!

Jake Icsman I agree - I have zero pains as long as I lift heavily, and fairly often. A couple weeks of no bench, no arms, no back n shoulder workouts and I start feeling sluggish, paper cartons start feeling heavy, and have weird aches in my back. I always tell people I “fall apart” if I don’t lift regularly. I don’t do squats because all it does is make me walk like a cripple, and I feel no better. I just do what works for me and keeps me feeling great and peppy at 40 years old.

The last truck i looked at only had 2 front seat bolts,no holes for the rear ones,and was missing the jute for all the carpet,when looked under truck it had a 2 inch square tubing welded in place for rear cab mount,and could see weld across the floor that looked like it was welded with a 6011 stick, nothing ground and you couldn't stick a magnet anywhere down the side of the truck if you had to.

My back troubles are all in my sacrum, when I have a flare-up, it happens in my sleep, I will roll over, and slip my tail bone out in my sleep, and its excruciating and really scary to wake up to this happening. I learned several ways to pop my s1 that involve posturing a certain way, while flexing my legs a specific way that will pop my tail bone, its hard to explain in text, this and a mess of lower body strength training I can fend off this condition. Yes, I read it. Glad you are "back" in action. I had surgery to fix mine, hoping yours is just muscular. Looking forward to the rest of the build!

I am guilty of not always reading them. lol Unfortunately it is not muscular. Two collapsed discs, arthritis, and degenerative disc disease = a bad time! :( Thanks for watching!

I would but the truck is still under warranty. Why waste it? I don't get many with a warranty! 😥
@vitocorleone3724
@vitocorleone3724 5 лет назад
vehcor This might sound stupid, but i had no idea a vehicle would still be under warranty after a collision like that.
@vehcor
@vehcor 5 лет назад
You would be surprised what is still under warranty. As long as it has a clear title, the warranty is still good. There are a lot of collisions far worse than this running around with clean titles and carfaxes.

vehcor That amazes me too. Neat to learn that warranty still applies!

Sure am glad to see you back. Been there myself with back problems. Back in my time they you put in a thing that looked like a girdle! Anyways you take care.

I kind of had the same thing with the weight belt. It restricts my movement more than anything but keeps me from tweaking my back any worse than it is already. Thanks for watching!

Thanks, sorry for neglecting IG. It has been a busy few weeks. I put an aggressive deadline on myself and have been working hard to keep it. Something had to give, weekly videos, comment replies, IG and emails or the deadline. I chose IG and the emails. I made the deadline so things should be back to normal. Thanks for the support!

Your attention to detail is impressive. I would have no qualms buying this truck, which is saying something, coming from a former body man that has done a lot of jobs like this.

Stupid Emissions! Huge respect for your work and I am a dedicated subscriber. What I really find refreshing (apart from your professionalism) is your calm narrative giving us insight into what you are doing and THINKING as you work. Best of all - no stupid music - glad you put that on the pile! Your subs are way too low but I guess you need to do a Lambo to get the big numbers. Please keep this format alive and hopefully other youtubers will follow.

Emissions are always causing headaches for me. lol I'm not here for a job, just for fun so I don't mind having a small channel. I actually prefer it. I like to read and respond to comments and that gets harder as the channel gets bigger. I appreciate your support! Thanks for watching. I have noticed some channels slowly following my lead. It is kind of funny that the big guys are paying attention to little me!

Had to move a panel an eight of an inch. Your attention to detail is impressive. If the opportunity presented itself I would buy one of your projects!
@vehcor
@vehcor 5 лет назад
It might sound like I am just being picky but an 1/8 of an inch at the bottom of the door at the hinge will bring the top of the door out much more. In this case it was about 1/4 inch. Which is very noticeable in door gaps. That little bit of pulling is all it took for a nice fit. Thanks for the support.
