Great film, sumptuously filmed, lovely Canadian and UK landscapes, great chemistry between Sutherland and his wife Francine. Sole gripe: ending chopped off. Thanks for posting.

I suppose folk today would find this film slow because they are bombarded with fast paced CGI every 25 seconds and content without meaning. But this film is excellent. An all star cast who play their emotions well and a good story to boot. No spoilers - please watch...

Don't mind a slow-paced thriller but when it's slow and boring, as this one was, then I get annoyed. I felt that this film was simply an ode to Donald Sutherland and Francine Racette's love for each other (they were/still married to each other). An unnecessary amount of time on dull, silly dialogue between the two, with Ms. Racette playing such an irritating bimbette! And the premise of her disappearance was disappointing and stupid. Shame because it had such a stellar cast!

Great bit of actual Hockey Night in Canada (CBC) radio in there. Francine Racette was Donald Sutherland’s wife in real life. The lack of curtains in their Montreal home (in the movie) was to show the Saint Lawrence River. Very 70’s decor.

Donald Sutherland, Christopher Plummer, David Warner, John Hurt. When ANY one of them plays a role in a movie, it is a good movie. When they act together, it isn't the movie anymore - it's a bliss...

A suspenseful thriller all the way to the end. Very well casted with some of the best Brit actors. All in all another great Brit thriller. Please keep them coming.

Thanks for sharing movies when people in their time was focused on quality of entertainment. I guess people then always think of putting themselfes in the other person's shoes. One has more chances to create something good whenever they balance logic and emotion, reality and illusion and looking outward rather than considering one's own gratification alone. Thanks again...

Quite the cast yet I'd never heard of it... gotta love those awesome frozen Canadian landscapes. Sad that so many of the principal cast members excepting Donald Sutherland have now passed on. Donald still acting and going strong!

Seen DS in many rolls, but never as jealous husband. Here he looks so young, boyish, no older than 33. Smart, sauve attractive striking blue eyes. It is obvious he was to die because he is so much in love. Women are trouble, immense trouble, from pillar to post they cause trouble. If a man really wishes to be himself, trying to fathom out who he really is, he should be alone, live alone, dream alone, sip the cognac in the bath alone, be in peace with himself and in peace with all around him, especially the pet dog.

SPOILER ALERT QUESTION plot of film, there's a lot of comments about how slow film is, and a couple about being puzzled by the story. It's maybe a story for the big screen, not a small phone. They replaced the credits in the end (names of actors and crew) with a big subscribe sign. That is in very bad taste, reason why I will never subscribe to this channel. And the fact that they deleted my comment. Very anti democratic.

Does anybody remember a movie about a couple who stop at a roadside restaurant, then the husband disappears? Their car is driven away from the restaurant, but the woman is convinced her husband wasn't driving it.

Sutherland and Racette will have their 50th anniversary this year. besides, i was just about saying something about the amount of cigarettes lit by Donald in this one, when he says" i never want to smoke again"...lol

Action films are boring so I don't mind characters acting slowly, but these scenes are too extended. One doesn't need to see repeated slow walking that just goes on, one gets the idea quickly. Long traveling shots that do just that, traveling and traveling. After a pregnant pause, of which there are many, one expects something important to happen, but it doesn't. This could and should have been a 60 to 70 minute film.
