Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is gonna be running 3 Honda Civic's with spoon engines. On top of that he just came into Harry's and ordered 3 t66 turbo's with NOS's and a Motec System Exhaust.
These things were everywhere in my hometown when they came out and one of my roommates in college had one as well this car brings back good memories to a better time
2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged was my first new car out of College in 2005. Staged 2 and 325HP later in a 4cyl 5-speed manual coupe. Black on Red/Black Leather interior. Loved that car.
Super rare one from the 80s not many know of... chevy spectrum turbo, I had an 85 with over 300k on it, little car would get down on any 90s 4cyl stock.
I still miss mine. And old lady tboned me after she jumped the double yellow line trying to make a turn light. She had 9000 miles. Such a fun little rocket, first car I bought without a cosigner.
I always wanted one of these back then. I was about 16 and I thought they were badass. The Chevy Cobalt Supercharged SS was pretty cool too. Remember those ?

@@CooperWitzbergermaybe try and put some good use to what he said. A goal would be a more beneficial way to look at it. You save x amount of money and acquire said car in set amount of time. A simple equation. A dream however, should seem impossible. Unreachable. Something that’s hardly fathomable to the wildest of imaginations. And yet there it is in your mind. A dream should be worthy of everything you’ve ever believed in and loved ! Get after it brother ! I’m 22 like you with nothing to lose!
Buddy owned one back in highschool. He was already running a bigger turbo pushing 18psi but I remember when he put a pick n pull turbo off some truck or something on it and pushed it to 27psi. Only lasted like 2 weeks before the stock motor couldn’t handle it anymore and threw a rod
Fun fact: the reason they stopped making the SRT4 was the new owners didn't like that their cheap tuner car wasn't that far off from their viper in a lot of tests; so the owners didn't want to have two cars preform so close at such opposite ends of the pricing spectrum lol
I had a stock 2 door neon. Automatic...thing was quick as hell. People always wanted to race lol. I didnt. That car was passed around my family for years till the tranny went
Used to always see these 15 years ago or so. Used to be all over LA and Orange County but now they are getting pretty rare. A lot of kids pushed em too hard and clapped them out. Saw one cruising around just the other day, but before that it had been some time since I had seen another. Even more rare was the Caliber SRT4.
I knew a guy that had one. He spent thousands hooking it up and did it right. But it still wasn’t as quick as a base Evo 8 or STI even after all that work. It was FWD and that transmission was just not carrying all that power to the wheels. I feel like that held it back a lot.
I used to hate these back in the day. They were kind of like my rivals with my h22 swapped hatch. Now i definitely appreciate them. Also I didn’t know they are actually great track cars. The previous gen before this took home a lot of road racing and auto x titles.

I raced one that had a nice nitrous setup... that one WAS fast, lol, but factory cars these days are much faster, and you can almost always mod a V8 to be much more than a modded 4 banger. ... btw, I'm not hating, just simply making a statement man. They were kool cars back in the day. A few buddy's had em, and they were quick little fun cars.
19,999 here in NY in 2003, selling point was it was under 20K but competed with the wrx sti and evo vii or viii, been awhile lol altho those could take me off line with 4wd, i would catch up in 2nd and pass in 3rd lol@@Gen10civic
If they made an AWD or RWD version that thing would have been a legend. I knew people that pushed 400 out of those in the early 2000s. And that was a crazy number for most cars those days.
My buddy had one with stage 3 Mopar upgrades pushing 402 to the wheels. It was only beat one time by a wicked 03 Cobra. Smoked everything from Honda's to vettes and a few supras
Man it was rare to see one back in the day and even more now I can't remember the last time that I did.. *Mazda* made a crazy sleeper in the *_mazdaspeed_* *6* Turbo, 6-speed manual, _and_ *AWD.*
I had an 05 with mopar stg 3 in 2005 and I added an aftermarket intercooler. It would light up sticky 245's any rpm in 2nd gear rolling. It would torque steer in 3rd gear. I would never do fwd again. It was fun though.
The American market is always focused in pick up trucks, large SUV's and muscle cars. Very few people know about import sport cars. They stop making those models because of the low demand.
They were fast but they were ricketty and the front end didn't put the power down very well. They spun, hopped, torque steered, grinded and rattled like crazy.
It was my first car. Made 430whp on the dyno about 4 months before it threw a rod and caught on fire. I’ll always want another one but they are all beat or overpriced now.
This girl I went to school with she was few grades lower. She won 1 of these. They took it home and let rot away just parked it. 4 miles on it . JUNK. still sits in the same spot over 25 years later
I remember fondly Besting my buddy’s 06 sti in it, my other buddy’s supercharged rsx in it, my other buddy’s 04 boss mustang gt in it, and another buddies 06 GTI in it. It was a hell of a car just not made too well.
I don’t understand what dodge and Mitsubishi did. They had the perfect market for a twin cam turbo charged lineup from the eclipse to the neon. Even the big brothers, the VR four Mitsubishi 3000 GT and the Dodge stealth. I believe if they would’ve ran on that format modernizing and keeping up with the car market, they would’ve had a solid continuous lineup like other manufacturers . my car years when I got my license were in the 90s some of the best work for Eagle, Honda, Acura and Mitsubishi came out of these years. I will not leave out the Chevy cobalt or the Cavalier. They were great designs as well that didn’t get enough attention from the aftermarket. I guess I’ll close with manufacturers have gotten so far away from affordability and fun to drive. We’re almost at a point where affording anything that’s fun or that we can modify and make more fun is becoming less and less existent and if you want something to so much that you’re practically living with your parents all over again to keep it
These neons were evo and sti killers. They also had like 250 whp from the factory but lied it had 210 😂... I believe the engine was somewhat developed by mitsubishi and made 500 whp with stock internals.
@@marcelluscunningham8272 Anything close to stock vs stock the srt4 demolished evos and stis in roll racing. I remember my buddies cobb stage 2 sti getting smoked by a ton of srt4s on the highway and he was running higj 12s.

@@marcelluscunningham8272 go look at srt4 youtube videos vs stis. Srt4s have mad top end and they also have the same if not more whp than stis and evos. They under rated their hp from the factory.
@marcelluscunningham8272 its a fact. I had one for years and fully built it. These things made good power through the whole band. on a roll race I didn't have to worry about spinning like I did off the line, so pulling on a sti wasn't an issue, the evo's that had good tuning and built were the headaches
