THE DOMINO EFFECT: Judaism and Christianity - The Parting of the Ways

jewsforjudaism...
Many people know that the religion that became Christianity originally began as a movement within Judaism. What is less well understood is how this transformation actually took place. This presentation examines the critical embryonic departure from Judaism that led to a total unraveling of Christianity from its Jewish roots. Questions should be directed to RabbiSkobac@JewsForJudaism.ca.

Very interesting insight into the world and belief of Judaism and the logic and truth behind it. Very good reasoning of Rabbi Skobac who makes remarkable analysis of Christianity .This is an INTELLIGENT talk which can answer those who are still confused about " why should God die and resurrection concept to redeem the sins of men " under the command of Paul who distorted the original mission of Jesus .

anyways, respect for you , Michael Schoback. youre opening the eyes of Christians (not only the jews) the only way i could believe that Jesus is messiah now , is = to deny the old testament and say that jews changed it fully.

The Messiah, was supposed to bring Peace and harmony to this Earth. Just think how this World would be if EVERYONE was a Torah observant Jew ?. No More War, No more Strife, No More Hate, NO more Poverty and Hunger. All we have to do is follow the 10 Commandments, and its EASY, because we dont need to go and change the World, we just need to change ONE Person, and Thats YOU! If we all change ourselves Spiritually , then Mankind will elevate Himself and this World will AUTOMATICALLY and Literally become a Heaven on Earth.

I've got to say that I have enjoyed this video. i am a christian, brought up in the Catholic tradition and i have many problems with it. firstly, i never understand why i am supposed to pay any attention whatsoever to what Paul said or did. He never met Jesus, in fact, spent his time apparently slaughtering his believers until being struck down by a vision. Great, if it stopped him committing murder, great, but to then have to accept his teachings as gospel seems ludicrous to me.

Rabbi Skobac's research and technical analysis is par excellence combining both Torah and New Testament references and syncing these with the limited though credible historical and archeological evidence. My only question is why has not Rabbi Skobac have this impressive study and analysis in a published book. Very impressive.

Being one among the 3 million St. Thomas Christians in Kerala, India I feel I’m obliged to correct some wrong interpretations here by Rabbi Skobac. We follow a Christian tradition dating back to A.D 52 which was established by Thomas, an Apostle of Jesus Christ. We follow an almost perfect Jewish Christianity with Syriac/Aramaic being our church liturgy. We worship the One true God and believe Jesus Christ as the Son of God and an intermediary between humanity and the Almighty. We believe in a personal God, one who walks and talks with us as in Genesis, one whom we are able to relate and debate as in Exodus. One who leads us and guides us, as in the other books in the old testament. We do not believe that God is an autocratic dictator who demands continuous worship and prayers and one who prescribes humans a specific code of conduct. We believe Jesus Christ came not to condone the Torah but to spread its message to all humanity. His message was simple and universal. None of the Noahite or the Ten commandments were forsaken, it is strictly followed. The Old testament was never abandoned moreover it is thoroughly studied right from Sunday school days so as to establish God’s word and fulfillment. He led us into this salvation and light and we believe the Jews need not believe in him as they already are God’s chosen people. He was sent specifically to guide the gentiles (who would have otherwise still remained in the dark) although initially he tried to correct the Jews. And moreover, almost all of Jesus disciples and followers were Jews as well as the initial church. An example was the feeding of the 5000 and the 4000 at the Sermon of the Mount. He was only opposed by the Sanhedrin, Pharisees and Sadducees who stirred “their” followers against him. Jesus divinity and message was readily accepted, followed and spread by the apostles long before the so called “Roman conspiracy” Such a massive fellowship initially would have been possible only if there was a substantial element of truth and right in it. The Rabbi should encourage people to read the Gospels for themselves and not impose his version of Christianity on them. All the apostles who were scattered at the Crucifixion and were later “cognitively disowned” welcomed brutal deaths and were martyred in different parts of the world. All except 1! So what was their motivation? That cornerstone of their belief? A belief that was carried forward by so many saints and patrons of Christianity? Is it all still a conspiracy? And to all who have plans to exit Christianity listening to new modified interpretations, I recommend them to read their Bible once again and may the Holy spirit guide you in this regards. Because think, if God so truly wanted to nip Christianity in the bud, it would have been long lost to history by now, but instead its alive, valid and still full of hope. We the St. Thomas Christians of India are a living proof of this!

Thank you for your time invested in sharing your work. I could be wrong, but the way I understand this historical situation is not as an example of cognitive dissonance, but an example of the only rabbi ever to prophesy his own death. He did not fail, but followed G-d in all the requirements to fulfill the spiritual transaction of messiah. Much like God gave Ha Satan the freedom to take the garden form Adam, so Jesus chose to empower Judas to betray him, in order to complete his mission. When he cried out "my God, My God why are you forsaking me", he was (as rabbis do) calling forth remembrance of the words of David in Psalm 22. This psalm speaks volumes with the last line reading "They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it!" This does not at all sound like a declaration of failure but of triumph. Am I wrong? A psalm of David. 1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish? 2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.[b] 3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises.[c] 4 In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. 5 To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame. 6 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people. 7 All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads. 8 “He trusts in the Lord,” they say, “let the Lord rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.” 9 Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast. 10 From birth I was cast on you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God. 11 Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help. 12 Many bulls surround me; strong bulls of Bashan encircle me. 13 Roaring lions that tear their prey open their mouths wide against me. 14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me. 15 My mouth[d] is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death. 16 Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce[e] my hands and my feet. 17 All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me. 18 They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment. 19 But you, Lord, do not be far from me. You are my strength; come quickly to help me. 20 Deliver me from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dogs. 21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions; save me from the horns of the wild oxen. 22 I will declare your name to my people; in the assembly I will praise you. 23 You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! Revere him, all you descendants of Israel! 24 For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help. 25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly; before those who fear you[f] I will fulfill my vows. 26 The poor will eat and be satisfied; those who seek the Lord will praise him- may your hearts live forever! 27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, 28 for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations. 29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him- those who cannot keep themselves alive. 30 Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord. 31 They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it!

Yes you are wrong! Absolutely 100% WRONG. Jesus is NOT the Jewish Messiah. He fulfilled NOTHING that the Messiah was supposed to accomplish. Therefore Christianity CANNOT be true. You cite Psalm 22, which is NOT a messianic prophecy. Nevertheless, in Psalm 22 the Christian Bible has mistranslated the Hebrew word “k’ari” as “pierced”. The correct translation of “k’ari” is “like a lion”. The entire case for the Christian claim that Jesus is the Messiah is based on Biblical passages that are: 1. Not a messianic prophecy 2. Mistranslated 3. Taken out of context 4. Doesn’t exist 5. Doesn’t refer to Jesus specifically To find out more click on this link jewsforjudaism.ca/why-jesus-is-not-the-jewish-messiah/ or this one ru-vid.com/group/PLD3DF0E2817D81B0D Thank you. www.jewsforjudaism.ca

If you look up the so-called "Testimonium Flavianum" (Antiquities 18.3.3) in the original Greek at Perseus Digital Library and dig for the meanings of the original Greek, you'll find that all the glowing terms have an undercurrent of negative meaning.
