The Door Is Made, Time To Hang It!!!!

I think you did a great job on that door and its casing. Im not a door maker either but one solution to the hinge side weather strip issue, is to chamfer that inside edge of the door... just enough to clear the corner of the strip.

Not bad it was completely custom and hard place to work, I like it.

Nice job on the door Steve. Rather than trimming off the edge of the weather seal, I would just chamfer the inside edge of the door itself to stop it from catching the weather stripping. I’m not a finish carpenter either but, I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express a few times lol

I like the DeWalt door hole kit. So if possible its easier to cut hole in door set door then you have your center for the door strike. I usually just measure down door hinges after setting hinges on door for new construction.

Good morning Steve as always nice job on the door but have you thought about using a metal sill plate, so that you don’t destroy the doorstop every time you move something in and out the attic space?

@15:25 just a slight camphor on that inside door edge would work too. So it doesn't catch the weather strip.
