The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger - a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.

Heard Light my Fire on radio, late 60s, I was a young kid. Went down to the local record store, listened to the l.p, was blown away. About 4 yrs later, I had bought all their albums. Still have them, the records, the covers, all look brand new.

@@ryanflippinharris Don't think I could sell them, I would not be able to look at myself in the mirror again ! But serious, maybe when I get very old, I have no children, don't think my nephews are interested. Maybe then, so will keep your e mail for " maybe one day " . By the way what would you pay for old DOORS albums, immaculate condition. Records and covers as well as new. I don't really know what they are worth.

@@roybean7166 me personally? I'd pay about $80 per record. I'd be very willing to negotiate on that. The Doors came to me at a very dark time at 21 (I'm 23 now) and helped me so much through these last two years. To me they're priceless to the point where I'd pay for them as long as I could eat and pay rent, within reason. Thanks for considering me!

I am a Mexican American and love the Doors music and I have a comment for all of the doors fans, the Doors visited Mexico in 1969 and they were in the plaza de toros Mexico and Toreo de cuatro caminos and Mexican people love the Doors and also the loved to eat Mexican food “ tacos “ the loved the friendly people, Doors music will never forget.😊😊😊

Bands in which EVERY member is key and makes it better are not common. Lose one and it all falls apart. I love The Doors. They're stoner rock/acid rock that can appeal to generations after their time and will continue to appeal to generations long into the future.

Those many will be sufficient to evince pure love and admiration for the legend of the Doors, recognising the divine and transcendental energy associated with a performance like this one. I didn't dislike it, but I think it's relating to them claiming rare gems but not following through, yet..? Also, this release is butchered and overdubbed. Not a good release for hardcore fans

The Collected Works of Jim Morrison book has been released.. It does not disappoint. The greatest thing is it is not a story per se. It is all his writings, his scripts all his own words. It is not a story telling you about Jim, it is Jim...... no narrative.
