Out of all the songs recorded around this era of music, this is the one I would have loved to have seen recorded for history. I would have loved to see the writing and recording processes. It must have been a one take wonder. This song and Axis Bold As Love.
Yet another time I admire how much delicate ART9 picks up the record! The other cartridges presented in Phil's vids are also excellent, but to my ears ART9 outperforms them in accurate transparent 'clean air' play. Nothing stands between you and the sound material at stage. Besides of that the record itself is a masterpiece. It makes my literally "comfortably numb"!
Yet they all seem to sound muffled. I know about the loudness wars and clipping and compression with new music, but all of the recordings on this channel seem to sound like there is a blanket over them ... can't you not hear that?

@@AudioPhil1 Yeah I know this brand .. they make platter mats for Rega Planar turntables .. I didn't know they were making such thick ones ! With a record on it, the centering tip almost disappears :) .. Did this mat improve the sound of your SL 1200G ??
Correct - as mentioned below, the Devialet amps have their phono stage built in. Previously I've used a Naim Superline and a Whest Two, the Devialet is better than either of them 👍
