While in Chicago to give a presentation to the local club, I was brought by a few fish rooms. This one was ricks. Pretty impressed with how well thought out and clean this whole set up was. Hope you enjoy it. TONS of ideas for you guys in this video! What was your favourite part?
The king of DIY I love the Bigg chiclids in the first the In wall tanks 🙂.... and I like his heating and water system !!! And ya are u showing us ur fish rooms massive tank build or no ? If yes when?
+Vaan's Aquatics That's not something that is happening right away. There are months of curing time between the foundation and the actual tank. When it happens, of course I'm going to show it.
Favorite parts His water system, and them Black prince Goodeids, Im going to have to do some research on that temp valve, cant remember what its called gonna have to rewatch, im super anal about temp so that would be amazing
Rachel O'leary Yeah, it's gorgeous! I would choose different fish, but his rooms are totally fishkeeping goals and I love that he's trying to conserve some species.
I have to respect how clean and organized everything is. And closing the doors all the time is funny at first but then I realized how dedicated he is to keeping the temperatures in check. What a great video.
This guy was one of the more interesting people you've interviewed. His fishroom is phenomenal and very clean and organized. But Rick himself was a fountain of information. You should talk to him again sometime. He also seemed about as comfortable in front of the camera as you are.
Day5 Aquatics being also a part of a few fish groups in Chicago, have a good feeling I might run into this guy sometime. Very knowledgeable guy, seems very interesting to talk to.
and behind door number 3 is where i murder people lol. i was just waiting for it. but he does have an awesome fish room. something everyone is wanting theirs to look like.
I'm a member of the GGCA and I can tell you Rick knows his fish very well! Figured his fish room was impressive, but wow - very nice! Joey - it was great listening to your talk when you came to Chicago.
This is hands down the cleanest, neatest, most organized setup I've ever seen. The knowledge this guy has is so expansive it was like watching a documentary. This is beautiful and your passion for the hobby definitely shows! All the people making negative comments are just jealous of your dedication.
WoW! That is an extremely impressive set up. I love the huge sink, that's so incredibly smart! I also love how he's got all of his plumbing done up and his explanation of just how simple he's got everything for water changes is so cool! Thanks for showing us his fish room and thanks to Rick for the tour, awesome stuff!
His fishroom looks like something out of Criminal Minds. Like he kidnaps & dismembers people and feeds them to his fish and then bleaches every surface lol
Wow this is the best fish room I've ever seen , I'd say this guy has a science background very organised. He's taken the worst part of fishkeeping the water changes and made it amazingly easy.
I was caught off guard and pleasantly surprised by this man's knowledge and approach to the hobby. Sitting back and listening to his rational regarding the heating system and attention to detail of his plumbing logic, to me was brilliant. King of the DIY, you did a good job with directing the interview and getting him to open up. Thanks for sharing your passion
As a cichlid lover my self I have to thank you for this video. I now have to look up that last one he showed with the black tail. clean and awesome set up.
I loved this video and his efforts to help endangered fish. His fish rooms are amazing and those tanks built into the wall are awesome. What an interesting guy and fish!
Every tour you show give you more ideas on how to run that fish house your working on... very interested in seeing how much inspiration you got from all these guys
This has got to be the cleanest and neatest fishroom i've seen on youtube. Not only that, the tanks are very well maintained with non of the usual detritus filled, algae infested or tanks that have plants "strewn" all over (making it look messy) that you often see on youtube.
This is one of my favorite videos because of the different species. I'd never heard of any of the fish he talked about and it was interesting to hear and learn. Thanks for the great video!
I saw some.posts of his on your Facebook forum with his livebearer room, very well thought out and put together. I got so excited ideas for mine when I'm able to build the room I want.
Wow, he came pretty close to my dream room. A basement home theater room with a monster tank built into one of the side walls. The other wall would have to have a super cool computer gaming setup. This tour really gave me some great ideas, thanks for posting it.
BTW, I loved that he gave information about the fish, their natural habitat and conservation instead of just their coloring/size/price. If you could, it would be great to have other experts like these tell a little about specific fish.
I thought I knew quite a bit about fish keeping. Then I found your channel and all of these fish rooms. Once the talk about all of this intricate filtration starts I feel like a 3rd grader.
Even though he mentioned the cost of having so many aquarium heaters I think the biggest benefit of keeping the room at a balmy 77 is room heaters tend to be more reliable than the constantly failing aquarium heaters. Well done. What a great fish room.
Wow that guy really knows how to keep a clean fish room. Hope you picked up on the suggestion of the heating system along with the insulation plus his valve set up.
This guy has a great fish room. I was watching this video as I was doing a water change on my 55 and turned green with envy. Felt like kicking the bucket over but I would've had to clean it up so I didn't. Very cool setup. I can see I'm going to have to make some changes around here lol
Amazing rooms! I love the way he's set up the valves and how neat he has it. Fishkeeping goals. I love that he's trying to conserve some species too. I'd personally keep different species of fish to his but either way I want his setup hahaha You're so privileged to have gotten to see that! 😍 Definitely looking forward to seeing more gallery updates Joey :)
What I learned from this video is that my dream fish room has already been created and it looks amazing! Hopefully someday I can have something half that nice.
Wow! that is impressive, Ricky has thought that out and it looks like fish room utopia to me. I was hoping to see some Frontosa in one of those aquariums but thank you for bringing that to us. i know what im gonna do when i get that winning lottery ticket.
Man, that's a sweet, clinical, spared no expense set up as I've ever seen. Nice! I'm only one big lottery win away and I'll have me something similar, lol, thanks.
I thought so too until I saw that the room was heated for the fish so keeping the door shut is important. Nothing wrong with having a well thought out, clean as hell fish room.
so i just recently moved out of my folks place and I've always been interested in the aquarium hobby. i;m quickly finding out that i have a loooooot to learn before i put fish in water.
