If TD was the issue than why is Ferrari not competitive this season? The TD was lifted for 23. The fact that they have gotten slower than last year when every single team has done the opposite shows the team isn't a top team. Let's not forget Fred hasn't really done anything to show he is doing well. I mean Ferrari since Mattia left has lost 51 technical personnel. No technical director no chassis head. Their chief simulation officer also left early this year. Fred is the problem right now. He can't find anyone willing to join Ferrari right now. It's an open secret that if you want to work in F1 you should go to Ferrari because they will hire anyone they can. In contrast look at Mercedes, look at the culture Toto has built, Mercedes literally has Psychologist working 24/7 to support the team personnel. The fact that Mike had the trust in Toto that he went and asked James to take his CTO role and him become TD. That's the type of confidence you need, James Allison is literally 29 times constructors world champion and Toto snatched him away from Ferrari in 2017 and we have seen ever since the cars he built 17-21. Toto was personally involved in the concept change and he isn't even a technical guy but he trusted his team. Ferrari will never win a championship until Ferrari has a world champion like Lewis or Max and also someone leading the team that the people of Ferrari the company and the people of race team trust

Ferrari are punishing their drivers every single race. The two guys are working so had, just for the car or team to interfere with the result they deserve. Really disappointing, for a team with such a great history. You have to feel it for Leclerc last race. He did not deserve that kind of race…worked so hard for measly results. Carlos, not as bad, but still bad…starting second and finishing 5th. Dismal. Way to go Ferrari.

@@BMPHF1 Yeah true mate it's just a sad situation all around really. It baffles me how a team such as Ferrari just seem to perennially get it wrong I've been saying for a while now that Leclerc needs to start looking for a new drive in another team because, yes while he has been guilty of making mistakes, the blame ultimately lies with the team for making cars that are impossible to drive which then ends up with the drivers having to overdrive in order to attain some sort of result with accidents occuring because of that I don't know at the end of the day but I just can't see them competing for titles before 2026 and hell maybe not even for a long while after. Great video content so keep up the great work and thanks for your reply
@paulsmith8750
@paulsmith8750 Год назад
Ferrari had the opportunity to finish at least 2nd in the constructors. That is now long gone......and they must not try to blame it on TD-39! This was a directive that was made due to safety issues for the drivers, so must be considered mandatory. They failed in their application of the directive and are just looking for something/someone to point their finger at. Very disappointing, as I had really looked forward to a great season for them. It just seems like they have to find a way to sabotage themselves. Something needs to change, and not just the team principals, as we have our share of them, one after another. Hopefully, Mercedes and Aston will continue to improve their cars so that we can have more competition at the sharper end of the grid. Mercedes especially, seem to have found some performance that they have not had so far. Second and third at the last race is promising. They now just need slightly better qualifying pace and figure out a way to get closer to RB's race pace. Ferrari are a lost cause at the moment. Great video.
@marco_1909
@marco_1909 Год назад
I would add at the moment there is a big luck of trust between the drivers and the team. Carlos having to question the strategies mid race, and the most optimistic guy Charles looked to have lost the last bit of faith he had in ferrari. The worst thing is they'll never learn, so much incompetence from the higher ups is enabling this.

Ferrari has super unstable working conditions in their team. My hope is that with Vasseur the team will be on the right track but it just takes time for it to bear fruits. I was expecting it to get worse first before it can get better, i wish the higher ups of Ferrari give Vasseur the chance to stay and have an impact long term. Look at the other teams, they are pretty stable and do not change leading roles like their socks in the morning.

I started watching F1 in '94 when I was 11. Immediately hooked and a Schumacher fan. And then he moved to Ferrari. I had no clue about which team was famous but I knew of Ferrari as I had seen posters of its sports cars. And when Schumacher moved to it, I was so excited. And then I saw a champ slowly build a great team and then dominance from 2000-2004. And since 2007 onwards, it has just been a downfall. Too many changes in management. Just italians instead of the best person for the job. I'd still say that they were on an upward curve from 2017/18. Arrivabene was a good TP and Binotto a good TD. Making Binotto the TP was a bad idea. I said it last year that Ferrari will start its journey back to the midfield and I have been proven right. I have been a Ferrari fan since I was a kid but it is just getting difficult and frankly now I am a RedBull fan. I still like Ferrari but primary team I support now is RedBUll. An energy drinks company has dominated twice in the last 3 regulations.

Oh man..where do Ferrari's problems begin and where do they end? I started watching F1 in 1991, when Ferrari experienced a massive backslide relative to first the Mclarens, then the all-conquering Williams and finally the Benetton team. After years of producing semi-competitive cars, the Ferrari at the helm of Alain Prost came within a race of potentially winning the 1990 world championship. A year later, Prost was sacked for political reasons after failing to win a single race. The downslide hit its nadir in 92/93 when the team failed to record a single win and had to settle for rare podium finish. With the arrival of Jean Todt, however, things started to pick up. Berger won a race in 94 and Alesi won scored his maiden win in Montreal in 1995. With Schumacher's arrival also came Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne. After 4 more years of painful misses, Ferrari and Schumacher finally ended the 21 year drought in 2000, likewise ushering an era of unprecedented dominance. But every era has an end. With first Todt departing, Schumacher retiring in 2006 and Ross Brawn eventually leaving Ferrari, the Italian team was slowly but surely beginning to slide back. Raikkonen won a surprise championship in 2007 and Massa lost the 2008 race for the title by virtue of half a lap. The 2009 season marked an epochal shift in the wake of which Ferrari has never been able to regain the top spot ever since. They came close with Alonso in 2010 and once more in 2012 and even Vettel for some time looked capable of bringing a world championship back to Maranello. But in reality the last 14 years have been the same kind of misses and the same kind of peripherally competitive cars as Ferrari had produced in the 80's. So yeah, don't be surprised if it will take another 10 years before glory comes back to the Ferrari team. Right now, I don't see it happening and a single technical directive is not to blame for it.

But neither Daimler Benz Nor RedBull pressurise their Drivers/Team to this extent , that whatever they do they do with that much of fear & Pressure. Plus the pressure from Sponsers / F1st Biggest Fan base / Media everything make it more & More Toxic . For Every single mistakes they make the Team Principal & No 1 Driver as Scapegoats ,Rather than going for correction of the Downfall. They should learn from RB & MB about how to Run a Team.

Listening to team radio's via F1TV and seeing all the interviews, I feel like Ferrari are incapable of being honest with themselves and diving deep into how they operate. At Red Bull you see an amicable vibe where creativity can shine, Mercedes try to find the personal strength in every person, and Ferrari sounds like they are just a behemoth trying to fit every person into their brand ideal and system. Listening to the way they talk, it sounds like a choking environment where it's not possible to keep up with these dynamic and rapid changing times. Comparing that to Mercedes and especially Red Bull; those teams sound like they have a work culture where people are capable of finding weaknesses and opportunities, and acting on them. Ferrari feels like a naive child acting big sometimes.

Communication at Ferrari is still a big issue. They fucking send both drivers out when they can impede each other. Its not like Carlos wants to block Charles or Charles wants to ruin Carlos' lap, but we saw instances of this in Monaco, Australia, Miami and a bit in Spain too. They end up tripping over each other a lot which causes unnecessary friction between the drivers. "Come on Carlos", "Don't put me behind Carlos when he is slowing down stupidly"' "Oh come on Charles, he fucked my lap"; these are the comments youu can hear on the radio at all times, be that in qualifying or free practice.
