I knew Roland for a period back in the early 90s. He never mentioned that he was the person in the wreck with Leif. I found that out years later after I lost touch with him. Roland passed away a few years ago. RIP

Yes I had a life-size photo of him on my wall and even took a photo next to it lol saw him in concert and even though he wasn't doing the music he wanted to be doing He was awesome! Very glad to hear that he's clean and sober I have been clean and sober myself for 30 years and I know it's very hard at first very proud of him
Donny Osmond, David Cassidy were the first 70’s heartthrobs. Leif was after them. I saw Leif at the Inglewood Forum at a concert. I sat in the row behind and a couple seats over from Leif and Justine Bateman. They were drinking and making out big time. Justine was sitting on his lap. It was so weird and honestly I’m not sure who the band was but they weren’t interested that’s for sure.
I maybe related distantly, but i😮 can tell you alcohol does run through my family. It took me till I was 38 to get sober and a constant battle even at 66 ti keep my sobriety. David Garrett

A lot of people in the industry from that Era well and now are not seen as a person but a commodity, once they're not selling they are discarded, usually as broken goods. They are left to pickup the peices of a puzzle they have no clue how to put back together. I met Leif Garrett years ago although he was a very nice guy you could see he was struggling.
I would buy tiger beat magazines every new issue when they came out. I had his posters on my wall , along with Tony defranco, Jeff east, Shaun Cassidy and of course micheal galser . When you pedestalized someone at such a young age, and then it all abruptly ends, that has to be tough for any human being to endure. Used, abused and sold and then….it all stops. The human ego is not meant to handle that.
My first celebrity crush was an Indian actor named Said Khan. I just looked him up in Wikipedia and found that he passed on December 22, 2023. He was in a tv show called Maya, I just fell in love with him. Sad to learn that he is gone, and recently.

I think Leif is a good person. It's very unfortunate life that he had to go through so much negativity but I think he has learned allot from it. My wishes are that he stays clean and enjoys his life ❤❤❤
Posters of him adorned every inch of my bedroom walls and ceiling . I was convinced that I would marry him. At 12, I went to some store where he was signing autographs. My mother didn’t drive on freeways, so my aunt drove us. I bought him a small stuffed animal. Trembling and crying while standing in line, when I got to him, I just wanted to give him his gift. He touched my hand, and I am sure I avoided washing it for as long as possible. Well, that all ended when I fell in love with my first boyfriend who actually resembled him. Unfortunately, or fortunately my boyfriend was gay. It’s a great form of birth control. Anyways, I was crazy about L G, and those are great memories.

My first crush was the Bay City Rollers. But I also had a huge crush on Leif. Very sad he grew up in a dysfunctional family. I saw a story on him, and his mom wasn't an ideal parent either. She was very permissive and didn't give him a stable hone. She would allow him to have girls stay over when he was a young teen. No wonder he turned out the way he did. I also had a crush on Donnie Osmond. Look at the difference between the two. Donnie has done well and has aged like a fine wine.

His passenger was just as bombed and wasted as he was. Neither were belted in, either. If someone knowingly gets into any mode of transportation w/a drunk at the wheel, they're as equally responsible for their poor choices as the drunk at the wheel.

@@mailelouie658 Oh I apologize. It's really quite tragic. I never knew about the crash. I would have felt very disrespected by Leif, showing up wasted. I also feel bad too for Leif. He did not have a very stable upbringing and it's sad that it appears his father didn't want him in his life until his own health was failing. At least he finally seems to be in better health. It's never too late to make changes so you can be happy.
