he made a Sean Connery reference at the start . . . you know the rules . . . you must slay him, consume his essence and change the title. . . their can only be one!
So nice to see the big Saurian get some love. I guess Chaos is the perfect enemy to use him against since they are a melee focused faction. Everyone else just shoots the poor thing to death.
Maybe if Hellstriders get nerfed. I think that they would get far too much value against the Saurian if the WoC player was going full meta build. Plus marauder horsemen missiles are no joke. Cool to see the Shredder rip and tear though, doesn't happen enough for my liking!
Totally agreed. The Dread Saurians need some sort of missile resist or counter, hopefully CA takes a look at them when they do the Lizardmen rework. It's a shame they're seen so little cause they have gotta be the most badass unit in the game.
One of the most under-appreciated strengths of the Dreadsaurian is probably the free passive ranged attacks that comes from it's Howdah. They're rapid-fire, poison, and high DPS, especially on it's side. It's practically having broadsiders on a giant gator. They might lack a visual oomph, but the damage they passively inflict over the course of an entire battle probably contributed a lot to it's value, not to mention the damage reduction from it's poison.
I remember one of the battles indy did not long after the saurian released, where it attacked a partially dead unit of about 6 chaos knights and the gunners took about about 3 before it ate the rest. Really showcased the power
While Archaon did have 5000 damage value, he also spent a lot have time beating on a Dread Saurian that reached near-healcap. His damage numbers are going to be inflated by the fact that the Saurian had at least 1500 extra value worth of Hp that it lost.
Fun fact about dwellers below, even if your unit leaves its AOE it will still deal full damage. So those chosen got the full blast. It’s a reason why dwellers is so meta right now
12:11 Truly this is why we follow Indy. Who else so seamlessly references such masterpieces of cinema, such one-of-a-kind artistry, in the midst of casting?
I love using the Shredder to absolutely bomb Dom points. I bring two terrordon riders to keep ranged off of the Shredder. You can force move that thing through any formation and just eat the ranged units before killing the other foot soldiers. Just bring something to duel halberds and lords.
Here's a question, Indie: I think the lizardmen have basically their full tabletop roster (though I'm not a diehard WH nerd), but are there any roles or gaps in ability that you think they could still use? I want to see some more dinosaurs that aren't stumpy quadrupedal footballs - that's why I love the dread saurian, actually! It's a huge predatory quadruped which is really really interesting.
Love seeing the shredder getting a chance to do some real shredding. I don't know that there's a single unit in game it can't 1v1 except maybe a sphinx of unspellable if the sphinx gets the drop.
I enjoy these non hyper competitive Battles a lot, TWWH3 has so many awesome Units that may not be the top of the meta, so its always great to see them utilised.
When you said you'd have preferred to see Fimir with GW rather than dragon ogres, was that just a slip up or is there a way to get "combined" rosters in Dom? I've always wanted to see special option like that tbh, like a catchall "Forces of Chaos" roster with everything Chaos-aligned, "Forces of Order," etc
Chaos doesnt have access to Fimir (only Norsca does), i was just talking about a unit theyd like to have in that situation. I didnt say Fimir "instead" of Dragon Ogres though, it was just the first unit that came to mind. Dragon Ogres/Summoners of Rage perform the same role, and are arguably better against armored/large targets because theyre faster
@@RatboyW Warriors of Chaos have a huge roster now (with unit caps off) in custom/mp. they can recruit from Daemons as well. but not Norsca. thats more just for scenario/thematics/content creation though
The next time you do a four way battle on your channel, please consider having a four way between four Legions of Chaos forces, each lead by one of the four monogod Daemon Princes, and thank you.
Hey love your stuff! Have you tried the mod that Turin (and other people I'm sure) uses that shows values and time to win and stuff? Or does it ruin the cinematic shots or something?
I did enjoy the video, but I have a question here: Is Domination just the new Battle game mode everyone plays? I haven't watched many TWW III videos lately and only saw that on Turins channel there is basically no Land Battle content (which is particularly sad because I was looking forward to Immortal empires faction wars). And if Domination will replace Land Battles for the creators - why is that? Whats so much more enjoyable? This isn't meant as an affront, mind you, I am genuinely curious. I just feel like Domination is a lot less fun to watch personally.
From what I have heard, land battles are susceptible to cheesing, cheap tactics that draw out games and make it boring to play and to watch. Kiting, avoiding combat, and such. Whereas Domination mode kinda forces you to engage or you will lose on the capture points. I remember in WH2, all the multiplayer channels had extensive rule sets to make a good playing and viewing experience, but with Domination, they basically don't have to do the same, because it forces players to engage. I think it seems more fun for the players, and it's easier to make good content out of, without having to create special rules with arguments and accusations between players.
Its significantly easier to play in terms of the player ladder. There are many fewer "house" rules to keep competitive integrity, and the game mode itself allows more varied unit rosters to shine. A resurgence of elite infantry and monsters in Dom has been a renaissance for a lot of factions. TBH the watch value just depends on who you ask. I prefer Dom, for instance. Smart strategy and tactics winning the game is more core to my strategy player heart. I do understand why many people find dom to be less entertaining though. Theres a lot less in the way of cataclysmic engagements.
Long time watcher and enjoyer of your content indy. Great video but in the future can you use slightly different faction colours (health bars etc), these aren’t really colourblind friendly and it makes things harder to track :)
im actually surprised. i used light blue and dark purple here. are those problematic for colorblind people? I thought most colorblind issues were centered around Green and Red
Depends on the person really, I don’t have issues with the standard scheme in warhammer, I imagine some do. There are different types but it can happen with any Colours that are close together. I can differentiate the two you used but have to actively focus to do so, can’t do it at a glance. I’ve always struggled to tell loot rarity since the standard is blue to purple for instance. Still a great video, though :) Edit, either in the blue/purple range vs a second in the red green range should be fine for everyone
What graphical settings does he use? my game looks like cr*p on any setting.... iff i use TAA the game looks like a blurry mess and units in motion have a wierd afterimage blurr... iff i use FXAA the game looks like pixelated dogsh*t. How do you get Warhammer 3 to look this way i dont get it...
