My IPod is full of The Dudley Moore Trio, my favourite artists. And this is one of my favourite tracks! I try to learn things from Dudleys playing, but aside from his fantastic technical playing ability, his knowledge of harmony and orchestration is out of this world. God bless these guys!
I love Dudley's playing and writing, especially as part of his great trio. This clip alone is enough to make me seek out the film. The camera work adds to the appeal.
Man, I dig that movie- have not seen it in a long, long time, but I do remember this "romp"- thought it was way cool - sort of a mix of Monk, Brubeck, and Dudley - all rolled into one. thanks for posting it!
Wightonian Ha, crazy! So I assume Wightonian refers to the Isle of Wight? Funny coincidence is my family ancestry is traced back to that area (I live in the states now). I have the last name Wheeler (old English name is Whoegoler) and I tracked down some info which pointed to that region.
It is now! It is on the Soho Scene ‘66 ‘67 Jazz Goes Mod 4CD release by Rhythm & Blues Records. It’s on Disc 3! Worth buying the collection for this alone! Ludicrous that it was never included on the film soundtrack or indeed released anywhere else since 1967!
@@atavachronwemberley1744 Great, thanks for the info, believe it or not I just happened to be playing Dudley's 'Waltz for Suzy' and then saw this! how's that for a coincidence.
@@Ajodonne Ah, nice! For myself, you can’t beat the original 1965 ‘The Other Side Of The Dudley Moore Trio’ (years later re-released as Genuine Dud Vol.2). A fantastic album - biggest selling British jazz album of that year I believe. What’s so noteworthy I think is that Dudley’s original compositions are the best tracks on it - Lysie Does It, Poova Nova, Take Your Time and Sad One For George. All superb
